Saddam Hussein executed for war crimes - Yahoo! News

YAHOO NEWS/SADDAM TO BE EXECUTED

Official:

A Different Perspective

What is the difference between Rich People and Poor People?

One day, the father of a very wealthy family took his son on a trip to The country with the express purpose of showing him how poor people live, Therefore, they spent a couple of days and nights on the farm of what Would be considered a very poor family.
On their return from their trip, the father asked his son, " How was the trip Son'"?"
"It was great, Dad."
"Did you see how poor people live?" the father asked.
"Oh yeah," said the son.
"So, tell me, what you learned from the trip?" asked the father.
The son answered:
"I saw that we have one dog and they had four.

We have a pool that reaches to the middle of our garden and they have a creek that has no end.

We have imported lanterns in our garden and they have the stars at night.

Our patio reaches to the front yard and they have the whole horizon.

We have a small piece of land to live on and they have fields that go beyond our sight.

We have servants who serve us, but they serve others.

We buy our food, but they grow theirs.

We have walls around our property to protect us, they have friends to protect them."

The boy's father was speechless. Then his son added, "Thanks Dad for showing me how poor we are."

Is not Perspective a wonderful thing?

Makes you wonder what would happen if we all gave thanks for everything we have, instead of worrying about what we don't have.

Try to appreciate every single thing you have, especially your friends!

Pass this on to friends and acquaintances and help them refresh their Perspective and appreciation.

"Life is too short and friends are too few."

The hustle and bustle's over

I sure hope that everyone had a WONDERFUL Christmas!

We traveled to Lebanon, and was able to spend a wonderful time with my Mom and Dad. We all ate too much, as usual, and then, everyone just wanted to take a nap. lol We arrived home, not too late, I guess around 11. We try to stay as long as we can, but try to be reasonable, knowing that we have a 2 hr. dr. ahead of us, then especially with it being Christmas day, we didn't want to have to feel rushed, when traffic is sometimes bad. It wasn't awful coming home. There was some traffic, but it seem to go in spurts, and then clear out. The trip to Lebanon always seems a little quicker now, since Landon has moved to Ashland. From Columbia, Lebanon is right at a 2 hr. drive. But, since we ususally go to Landon's first, we don't really think about that being "part of the trip", and from Landon's house, it's more like 1 1/2 hr. So, the trip seems a bit shorter. We've traveled between Columbia and Ashland now, for almost 2 years, so by the time we get to Ashland, we feel like we're home.

We had a great time Christmas Eve...Sunday night. Landon, and the kids, were here, and we had some great food. I made a big pot of chili, and we had dips, hot and cold, and bbq'd littl'e smokies, and all kinds of chips. We ate too much that night too. lol Mary was so much fun to watch...her first Christmas. Moriah was the DEFINATE hit of the night, with her gift. Mary absolutely LOVED IT. You'll get to see it in the pictures I'm enclosing. It's what she's sitting on! Of course, Kenny and Gabriel were awful excited too. I had to laugh at Gabriel...and a bit at myself I guess. As I was wrapping on of Gabriel's presents,
a pair of overalls, I happen to notice a clean sock of his laying on the end of the couch...so...I picked it up...thinking to myself, I'll just wrap it up in this box, then they won't go off and forget it...or i won't forget it. So...I wrapped 1 sock, up the gift for Gabriel. I couldn't remember what package it was in, but as we're watching Gabriel, tear open this box...and we're all asking him..."what did you get...what did you get?"....and he looks up with this strange face and says.... questioningly... "a sock?" LOL Naturally, I started to laugh, and everyone else is looking at me wondering what in the world is going on...so....I have to tell the story. Gabriel, was REALLY stumped by that one!

And another story that I have to tell...lol Christmas Eve, I gave Kenny and Gabriel to 'bell necklaces'....jingle bells with little Santa hats on them, that hung around their neck. Well, Gabriel put his on christmas morning, to wear to Lebanon. Kenny, left his at our house, so didn't have one. All the way to Lebanon, they played Christmas songs on the radio, and we'd all sing along. We kept trying to get Gabriel to shake his necklace to the songs....but he just wasn't wanting to cooperate. lol So, after several more miles, when "Jingle Bells" started to play on the radio, I was SOOOOOOOOO sure that Gabriel would just chime right in, then. We'll....I was wrong. I'd sing, and then tell Gabriel...."I don't hear no jingle bells"... and always it was silent in the back seat. lol Lee would look back (I was driving), and said that Gabriel was just sittin' there with this "dumb" look on his face. After it was evident that he WASN'T going to shake his jingle bell...all of a sudden, here comes Kenny....(7 to remind you, and NEVER wants to stop talking), who preceeds to say somthing to the following effect... "Well Gabe...I just wanna tell you, that you have NO CHRISTMAS SPIRIT! Everyone has the Christmas spirit but you! I've got it, Nannie's got it, Miny's got it, Papa's got it, Daddy and Mommy have it...Everybody in the Morgan family has the Christmas Spirt but you!" And this is just about how long this conversation went. He just went on and on and on. Like the energizer bunny. lol Lee and I were just dying laughing, when all of a sudden,... we heard this little faint tinkle of a jingle bell. I looked over and Lee and whispered..."listen". To which I then said... "I hear jingle bells"... the next words I heard out of Gabriel's mouth, had me laughing sooooooo hard, that Lee asked me if I was able to drive. Very calm cool and collected...while the rest of us were making a big deal about the jingle bells...and Gabriel really having the Christmas spirit...he looked up and Lee and said.... "now how long to I have to ring this?" We all just about died laughing. It was like he wanted us to know he'd ring that bell, if it meant he had the Christmas spirit...but, wanted to know how long he had to ring it, to accomplish that task. It was just too funny!

Well, I do believe it was just a few days ago, that I mentioned that I wished I could find a site similar to Flixster, who handles movies, and find one where I could share my music. Well... I couldn't believe...finally, I found one! I now have a place where I can put all my music, and anyone and everyone can come listen! Wow! I was a bit...excited! Just a bit! I have a whole lot of music I want to share, and so far had added about 16 albums. I have alot more music I want to add, but it's going to take a bit of time, before it's all in. Of course, that's just what I've got saved...not including what else I might find that I'd like. So...I'm back here again, to ask you all to drop by my page...join me as a friend, and hope you'll enjoy all the music I'm adding, so I can share it with you all. Just click on the link below.

Hope you enjoy the music!

I called in and played hookie from work yesterday. Well...I won't say hookie. It's not like I lied. Lee had yesterday off, and since he'd been working so much over the holiday, I really wanted to spend the day at home with him. Aaron wasn't suppose to get back till about 2 anyway, and that makes for such a late day. So, when we arrived home from Lebanon on Monday night, I called and left a message on his machine, telling his about lee having off, and said that I'd be in on Wed. morning, and that if he wanted me to come in early I could...to just call and let me know. We knew there was a possibility that we'd have alot of books over the weekend, and Christmas...or maybe it would be dead. We just weren't sure what we'd find. But, Aaron called me a little after 1, and said it would be closer to 2:30...and wanted to know if that was alright. He hadn't even gotten my message. So...I had to go over again, what I had told him in the voice mail. He didn't really act like he wanted to do that... but...agreed that he'd get home, and see how many orders we had, and that if there were less than 30, he'd do them himself. So...that if I didn't hear from him, he'd see me wed. morning. I never heard anything. So...I went in today, to find that nothing had been done, and we had to do all the orders that had come in for Fri., Sat. Sun. Mon. and Tues. He didn't do any of them that had come in over the weekend. I got a few of the packages ready by the time our postman came, but had to take the majority of them... 6 boxes, and 3 totes..plus the internationals, that I have to take inside, to the postoffice. I was still able to get out of the p.o. by 4, so that wasn't too bad. Now that Christmas is over though...and people back to the norm, you never know what sales might do.

Well, just wanted to touch base with you all now that Christmas is over. Again, I hope you all had a wonderful day...full of peace and love!

Much love,
Lev

HAVE A BLESSED
LORD'S DAY,
AND
A WONDERFUL
CHRISTMAS EVE

Luke 2
Christ Born of Mary
1 And it came to pass in those days that a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be registered. 2 This census first took place while Quirinius was governing Syria. 3 So all went to be registered, everyone to his own city.4 Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and lineage of David, 5 to be registered with Mary, his betrothed wife,[
a] who was with child. 6 So it was, that while they were there, the days were completed for her to be delivered. 7 And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.

The eve, before the eve, before the day...

Yep...here it is, the eveing before Christmas Eve. After today, I can now hopefully enjoy the next few days, without feeling like I'm runnin' myself ragged. My Christmas shopping is done, and everything wrapped. Well..spoke too soon maybe. I have a pkg. for Eva from Moriah, but there's no way it will get to Australia before Christmas, so I'm not even going to bother to send it off till after then. Maybe then, with the postage not so rushed for the season, it will get there a little quicker. But, all the presents that go under the tree are wrapped, except for what Lee brings home! I know he's cookin' something up...I was up there yesterday...not sure if it's the necklace i told him I'd like, or what...guess we'll see.

I got all my grocery shopping done today too...for tomorrow night, and for some jello to take to Lebanon on Monday. it is difficult to try and cook big dinners like we use to....on my mom's end, anyway. When we lived in Lebanon, it was no big deal for her to do some, me some, my Granny some, and it wasn't a ton of stuff for just one person. But...my mom doesn't have the time now, with takin' care of my Dad...and Dad can't help like he use to...and would still love to. He is a fabulous cook...and makes wonderful homemade breads, and christmas stollens. He learned it from his mother...who of course, made it in the Swedish way. But now, we're over 2 hrs. away, and it isn't always easy to try and pack alot of food...which Landon and I did for Thanksgiving. Mom did potatos and few things, but we brought the majority. I was always afraid that I'd end up with our dinner all over the trunk of the car. lol. So...we are having the majority of our dinner catered. It will be delivered to my mom and dads house...at the specific time we want it. We are going to have to do mashed potatoes...it didn't include that or gravy, and we're going to do another veggie...and I am going to make my famous Redhot Jello. Thanksgiving, and Christmas just wouldn't be right without it. But, for $60, we get a 12lb. turkey, dressing, candied yams, greenbean cassarole, cranberry sauce, hot rolls, and 2 pies. Well....that's alot less than what we'd spend on groceries, not to mention the time involved preparing it, and then having to transport it. Mom and I are going to split the cost. I know I would have spent more than $30 had I cooked it! I know Landon doesn't think much of a "catered" dinner...for Thanksgiving, or christmas. But...that's the way he was raised...and so was I. And I am sooooooo thankful that my kids remember what it was like to have Thanksgivings, and Christmas' like that. Memories that can never be replaced!!! But, catered or not, we all know that it's not the food, or the way it's prepared, or who prepares it. It's that we are all together, on a day that means so much to us, and to so many others, world round. After all....Christmas is in our hearts!

It's about 10:00...Lee's still at work. It was 11:30 before he got home last night. I have a feeling it will be at least that late tonight. I wished it wouldn't, but I know they have a lot to get done, and time is slowly running out. The store is open tomorrow 12-3, so everything that has to be done for Christmas, has to be finished by then, in order for people to pick it up. I haven't talked to him today...I usually do at least once a day, but I know how busy they are. By now though, the store is closed, and doors locked, so they're not dealing with customers as well.

Well, tomorrow night Landon, Kenny, Mary, and Gabriel...and of course, they're bringing Moriah with them, will be coming over here, and we'll celebrate our Christmas eve together, and exchange presents. I'm not doing much cooking. I've got chips, and dip, and I'm going to make a big pot of chili, we're having hankey pankey...which is moriah's favorite, and bbq'd little smokies. Unfortunately, Amanda has to work...won't get off till almost 11. Now is that stupid, or what. She works at Movie Gallery, but you can't tell me that if someone wanted to rent a movie to watch, they could have done it earlier...rather than be open on a night when their employees would like to be with their families. She has to work Christmas day too, so she won't be able to go with us to Lebanon. From the time they get up, till about noon, when we're leaving, will be the only time she gets to spend with Landon, and the Kids, on Christmas day...until she gets off work late Monday night. Guess I'm really old fashioned that a way. I can understand gas stations, and restaurants...but a movie rental place....give me a break!

Well, guess I'll get outta here and give Lee a call...see if he's got any idea what time he's gonna be home. I got my house cleaned today, so I don't have much to do tomorrow, except throw my chili together...and my hankey pankey, later in the afternoon, and neither one of them will take too long, so I'm sure I'll be back here tomorrow to drop in and see what you've all been up to. I hope you all have a great evening!

Much love,
Lev

MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM THE MORGAN'S

It is that time of year again!
It seems to come so quickly, anymore,
the older I get. But, it's that time of year,
that always brings those we love
close to our hearts, and our thoughts,
even if they are miles and
miles away from us. And when they're
so far in distance,
it sometimes makes this time
of the season a difficult one,
when we're longing so desperately,
for those we love to be near.

So, at this special time of year,
I had to stop in to say, that all of you who are friends,
on this fast internet world, you are in
my prayers, my thoughts,
and in my heart, this Christmas Season!
I hope you are surronded by those who
are dear to you, and hope your
days are full of
hope,
joy,
and
love!

Blessings, and Christmas Wishes
Much love,
Lee, Lev, & Moriah

Don't forget...

JESUS IS THE REASON FOR THE SEASON

Sabbath Scripture

HAVE A
BLESSED SABBATH

For unto us a Child is born,
Unto us a Son is given;
And the government will be upon His shoulder.
And His name will be called
Wonderful, Counselor,
Mighty God,
Everlasting Father,
Prince of Peace.
Of the increase of His government and peace
There will be no end,
Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom,
To order it and establish it with judgment and justice
From that time forward, even forever.
The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.

We can learn from Santa Claus

What Can We Learn from Santa Claus? At this time of year, it really is true - as Ray Stephens sang of Santa Claus in a popular song some years ago - "he's everywhere! He's everywhere!" There are chocolate Santas, inflatable giant Santas; surfing Santas (I have one of those on my palm tree); aviator Santas -you name it. It all started "once upon a time" in the 4th Century. A church bishop named St. Nicholas went around giving gifts to the poor around him - becoming the original "St. Nick." Likeso, the mythical Santa / St. Nicholas / St. Nick gives presents to children around the world - in a spirit of generosity. It's really true isn't it - that Christmas often brings out the generous spirit in many people. Santa is a poignant reminder of God's instsructions (via Christ, Paul and others) to live generously. We should follow Charles Dickens' example when he wrote, "I will honor Christmas in my heart, and try to keep it all the year."In addition, we can learn that there are no secrets. Someone really is watching to see if we are "naughty or nice." No it's not Santa; but God is watching us 24/7. God is literally presenst with us everywhere. Everytime someone goes into a pornographic movie - God is there. If we go into a bar and drink until we are inebriated - God is there. If we make a dirty joke or a racist one - God is there listening. If someone is robbing, robbing, beating or killing someone - God is there. He knows all and sees all. We should never go anywhere that we don't want God to go with us - or do anything we'd be ashamed or frightened for Him to observe. For there are no secrets from God.And really - the world is watching, as well. Children learn more from what we do than what we say. Whether we like it or not - we are all role models for some of the people in our worlds. Everything we do and say should reflect our heritage as precious children of God. As the cliche reminds us "you may be the only Bible someone ever reads."And we are reminded by the song "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" (by Johnny Marks) that God has a purpose for everyone - and that we should not mock or dimiss people because of their appearance. We should never disparage one of God's precious children because of their weight, color, birthmark, big nose - or anything else. When we mock anyone - we are mocking someone Christ gave His life for. Much of this world (at least in the US) is obssessed with appearance - thus the proliferation of liposuction, facelifts and eating disorders. But God doesn't look at it the way the world does: Man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart. (1 Samuel 16:7 NASB)Santa Clause is mythical - but he has much to teach us. Where'd the week go???

This week, has just went, poooooofffff! I guess it went by so quickly because Christmas is trying to get here, and I'm not ready. lol I try and tell myself, I haven't got much left to do...but I know that when I really set down and think about it, there's probably more than I realize. Hopefully not...the money is slowly dwindeling... I've got Landon and Amanda done...a couple of things for Mary...so there'll probably be alittle more to get there. I got a couple things ea. for Kenny and Gabriel, and still have more to get for them, but at least I know what I'm getting, and don't have to deal with the mall to get it. I AM going to avoid the mall...at all cost. Unfortunately, I have to be on that side of town for work, and when I get off...especially later at night, it has been a nightmare...the traffic that is. Just lines, and lines, trying to get through the lights. I think I can get away with not having to go. Lee...I'm having a hard time finding what I need for him. I know where to get it...but the size is a different matter. His is all sold out. so, I'm hoping they'll be restocked...I'll be going tomorrow to find out. I do have a couple of other things for Lee too. Moriah...shoot...she is such a pain to buy for. She is so pickey when it comes to clothes..which does involve the mall...lol I've gotten her a few smaller things already. Lee was considering making something for her...I'm not sure what, but I don't know if he ever decided for sure or not. So...depending on whether he makes her some jewelry, whether we get anything else. I told him I wanted a new necklace, but...whether that happens or not, I'm not sure. Not that he doesn't want to make it...but...that at this time of year, there isn't always the time, and like I mentioned, things are getting down to the nitty gritty now. Like now, it is 9:40 and night, and I just spoke to Lee about 15 mins. ago....he is STILL at work, and said he'd probably be another hour or so. There are so many orders and so many things that have to be done...and EVERYONE AND THEIR BROTHER, wants it in time for Christmas!!!! So...sometimes, my pieces get put to the back. lol I guess that's okay...I understand.

So, it's an early day tomorrow. Aaron is going out of town, and wants to get started as soon as possible. So, I am going to be at work by 9 tomorrow morning. With him wanting to leave, I'm hoping that he'll be bustin' butt to get things done, so he can get outta there, and hopefully, that will get me outta there at a really early hour...possibly 10:30-11. That would be great. That would give me the rest of the morning and afternoon, to get the rest of my shopping done. I will probably go ahead and do my grocery shopping then too...before going home, and pick up all the stuff I'm going to need for Christmas Eve. Landon, and amanda...if she doesn't have to work...she works Christmas, and the kids, will be coming to our house Christmas Eve, for food and gift exchange. Generally, on christmas Eve, we don't do a big dinner, like we do for Christmas Day, so I'll have cheeses, and sausages, dips, chips, raw veggies, relishes, crackers...just good old munchie food. People can just snack as they wish. Christmas morning, we will do our Christmas here at the house...Lee, Moriah and I, and exchange gifts between us, and landon and Amanda will do the same at their house, with the boys. We will be meeting them around noon at their house, to go to Lebanon, to spend the rest of Christmas Day with my Mom and Dad. We'll be having the big dinner there...turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, greenbean cassarole, candied yams, cranberry salad, hot rolls and pie. Sounds pretty yummy.... We'll exchange gifts with them to, and won't come home till later in the evening. That will be a late night.

Anyway, with shopping done, that will leave me Saturday to get the remainder of presents wrapped, my house cleaned, etc., and start getting ready for Sunday...Christmas Eve. Lee works Saturday, and Sunday. Sunday they're open at noon...and they have been closing at 4, so...that's sorta what I'm planning on. I'll have to see if he has heard anything for sure. I'd like to try and get most of my stuff done on Saturday, cause I'd like for Lee, Moriah, and I to go to church Christmas Eve morning. With Lee having to be at work by noon, we're going to have to find one that will be out by then. There's one just down the road, but they're not out till noon, and by the time we'd get Lee to work...he'd be late. There is a church just a couple of blocks from Tuckers...and I think their services start at 10:30...so we'd be done before noon. It's a church we've been to before, and loved it. It's a black Baptist church. I know there'll be some Christmas music that morning, that will blow me away!!! The music nut that I am...and the Christmas music nut that I am...I love carols...all of them! So, hopefully, we'll be able to arrange it.

Well, Lee's been at work about 13 hrs. now. I hope he gets to a stopping point pretty soon. he's gonna be dead, and then have to get up and do it again tomorrow! This is one crazy time of year for the jewelry business!

I guess I'll head outta here. Oh...wanted to say Thanks to some of you who joined me on my Flixster...some of you were already there...some of you, like me, are new. But, I'm really having fun. It's a great site. Hope you guys enjoy it too.

Take care, and I'll talk to you all soon!

Much love,
Lev

A Christmas Letter from Jesus

Dear Children,

It has come to my attention that many of you are upset that folks are taking My name out of the season. Maybe you've forgotten that I wasn't actually born during this time of the year and that it was some of your predecessors who decided to celebrate My birthday on what was actually a time of pagan festival. Although I do appreciate being remembered anytime.

How I personally feel about this celebration can probably be most easily understood by those of you who have been blessed with children of your own. I don't care what you call the day. If you want to celebrate My birth, just GET ALONG AND LOVE ONE ANOTHER.

Now, having said that let Me go on. If it bothers you that the town in which you live doesn't allow a scene depicting My birth, then just get rid of a couple of Santas and snowmen and put in a small Nativity scene on your own front lawn. If all My followers did that there wouldn't be any need for such a scene on the town square because there would be many of them all around town.

Stop worrying about the fact that people are calling the tree a holiday tree, instead of a Christmas tree. It was I who made all trees. You can remember Me anytime you see any tree. Decorate a grape vine if you wish: I actually spoke of that one in a teaching, explaining who I am in relation to you and what each of our tasks were. If you have forgotten that one, look up John 15: 1 - 8.

If you want to give Me a present in remembrance of My birth here is my wish list. Choose something from it:

1. Instead of writing protest letters objecting to the way My birthday is being celebrated, write letters of love and hope to soldiers away from home. They are terribly afraid and lonely this time of year. I know, they tell Me all the time.

2. Visit someone in a nursing home. You don't have to know them personally. They just need to know that someone cares about them.

3. Instead of writing George complaining about the wording on the cards his staff sent out this year, why don't you write and tell him that you'll be praying for him and his family this year. Then follow up. It will be nice hearing from you again.

4. Instead of giving your children a lot of gifts you can't afford and they don't need, spend time with them. Tell them the story of My birth, and why I came to live with you down here. Hold them in your arms and remind them that I love them.

5. Pick someone that has hurt you in the past and forgive him or her.

6. Did you know that someone in your town will attempt to take their own life this season because they feel so alone and hopeless? Since you don't know who that person is, try giving everyone you meet a warm smile; it could make the difference.

7. Instead of nit picking about what the retailer in your town calls the holiday, be patient with the people who work there. Give them a warm smile and a kind word. Even if they aren't allowed to wish you a "Merry Christmas" that doesn't keep you from wishing them one. Then stop shopping there on Sunday. If the store didn't make so much money on that day they'd close and let their employees spend the day at home with their families

8. If you really want to make a difference, support a missionary-- especially one who takes My love and Good News to those who have never heard My name.

9. Here's a good one. There are individuals and whole families in your town who not only will have no "Christmas" tree, but neither will they have any presents to give or receive. If you don't know them, buy some food and a few gifts and give them to the Salvation Army or some other charity which believes in Me and they will make the delivery for you.

10. Finally, if you want to make a statement about your belief in and loyalty to Me, then behave like a Christian. Don't do things in secret that you wouldn't do in My presence. Let people know by your actions that you are one of mine.

Don't forget; I am God and can take care of Myself. Just love Me and do what I have told you to do. I'll take care of all the rest. Check out the list above and get to work; time is short. I'll help you, but the ball is now in your court. And do have a most blessed Christmas with all those whom you love and remember : I LOVE YOU, JESUS

HANDEL'S MESSIAH

I know that this is quite lengthly and that you may not have
time right now to read, but please save this so that you can
come back and look into it later. It is well worth the time spent
reading it. I have had the "priviledge" of performing this
enitre work when I was in college, and have of course performed
pieces of it since. For those of you who sing, you'll understand
what I mean when I say that there is NO BIGGER RUSH!!! If
you have never listened to the entire composition... PLEASE...
try to do so. It will bless your heart beyond description. I have
no doubts that Handel was inspired by God to write this, and
from some of the enclosed information, I believe that Handel
thought that himself.
I hope that you will enjoy reading this.Love,Levp.s. I had
originally said that I was going to post excerpts from Handel's
Messiah onto my blog sites, that allowed music. I am still
probably going to feature them. But, I remember that I had
this article on the Messiah, and want to share it with you all,
so decided to send it, accompanied by the music selections
that I also want to share. So, I hope you enjoy the article,
and I hope you're blessed by the music that you'll hear.

Messiah: Overture
Messiah: But Who May Abide
Messiah: And The Glory of the Lord
Messiah: His Yoke Is Easy
Messiah: Comfort Ye
Messiah: Every Valley
Messiah: For Unto Us A Child Is Born
Messiah: Hallelujah Chorus

HANDEL'S MESSIAH A Closer Look

Dear Friends in Christ, Many months ago, I found a cd copy
of Handel's Messiah in a used bookstore, and snapped it up.
What a treasure that nobody wanted! I hadnever really
listened to the whole work before, and the only thing I
remembered from it was, of course, the "Hallelujia Chorus."
But it was so beautiful, and I listened to it over and over,
and to myamazement I started recognizing the lyrics as
fragments of Bible verses. So I set about to find the verses
and their references, and kept a filefor my own studies.
As it turns out, The Messiah is either a Bible study with a
beautifulconcert attached, or a wonderful piece of classical
music with a freeBible study included at no extra charge.
I can't decide which. I doremember reading that when
Handel was alive, the Messiah was one of the most often
performed pieces of music in concert, and that Handel gave
away most of the profits obtained from his concerts to support
orphaned children. So, here is a copy of the lyrics and Bible
Verses, and a little bit of history regarding its writing...you
will find that Handel's Messiah is a beautiful study of the
prophesies and other verses about our Lord Jesus Christ.

George Frideric Handel(1685-1759)Performances of
Handel's oratorio, Messiah , have become a Christmas
tradition, and for many the "Hallelujah Chorus" expresses
the joy which the coming of Christ, the King of Kings, brings.
Handel wrote his masterful music in an amazing 24 days
and was passionately moved by the Scriptures describing
Jesus' incarnation, crucifixion, resurrection, and coronation
as King of Kings. He worked on his masterpiece almost
nonstop, with little sleep or food. One day his servant opened
the door to find Handel at his work, with tears streaming down
his face. Handel looked up and cried out, "I did think I did see
all Heaven before me, and the great God Himself."When
Messiah was performed before King George II of England in
1743, the king rose when the triumphal notes of the "Hallelujah
Chorus" were first played. Of course, everyone had to rise
when the king did, and the tradition of rising for the "Hallelujah Chorus"
began - a tradition that continues to this day.

A Cloudy Sunday

I guess it was Friday night...can't remember for sure now, I was probabaly a sentence or two away from finishing up an email to you all, clicked to change some font...the computer froze, and there I sat. It was probably close to at least 15-20 mins worth of time, that I had spent, sharing some stuff with you over the past couple of days, and now, I knew I had lost it all...nothing left to do but restart the computer. So, considering it was already late...I forget that too...hehehehe I just said "forget it". There was no way I was gonna start all over again. It was a pretty long email...hehehehehe You know how I talk! lol

It is a cloudy day today, but the temp sure isn't bad, currently 47, with a high of 56, and a chance for some rain...but not much I don't think. There's not a breath of wind moving, and it sure feels warmer than 47. But, I won't complain.

I have been having a ball on my new movie page... http://levmorgan.flixster.com/
I think alot of you got invites. I tried to spread them all over the place. lol If you like movies, this page is alot of fun. Does anyone know if there is such a place similar to this for music???? Boy...if there is, let me know. I'd love to be able to do this type of thing with my music. Music and Movies are about my 2 favorite things! I love being able to put these together, and it really gives me a chance to share with everyone, some of the movies I have seen, and what I thought about them. Not that my opinion means diddly squat...other than if someone is just curious. lol Anyway...this page has been alot of fun. So...check it out, and please, while you're there, just join me as a friend on my list...and start fillin' in all the info. on the your favorite movies. It's been fun!

Well, Lee has been at work about an hour. Lazy me...didn't get up till almost 11. I think I heard Lee get up about 9:30. But, I stumbled outta bed, and poured my coffee...and sat with Lee a minute, till he started getting ready to leave, and while he was getting ready, I ran upstairs to check in on the puter, to see what was new. I really would love to spend the afternoon sitting here and having fun, but Lee informed me that we have company coming over tomorrow, and I haven't done a thing with this house, and I have GOT to get it done this afternoon. So, I figure this is the time to do it, while Lee's gone, then maybe I can finish up, and have some more time to spend here before he gets home. Last week they closed at 4, but the week before, they closed at 5, so, I'm not sure what time they're going to close today. I'll give him a buzz I guess, later, and find out for sure.

landon, the kids, and Moriah will be headed this way a little after 5. They'll drop Amanda off at work. I took landon and the boys out yesterday, so we could find a Christmas tree for them. Money was a little tight, so Grandma offered. There's no way I'd let my grandkids go with no Christmas tree. So, they were going to spend the evening last night getting it decorated. The kids were really excited! I also found a recipe that looks good online, so I may try that for supper tonight. I'm still not sure. Guess it just depends how fast I get the house done.

So, with that said, I guess I'll get up off my keister, and get busy. I hope you all have a wonderful day, and I'm sure I'll be back to yack at ya some more before long!

Much love,
Lev

Gold Wrapping Paper

Gold Wrapping Paper">>>

I received this from a friend who had a choice to make. It said that Ihad a choice to make too.I've chosen. Now it's your turn to choose.>

>The story goes that some time ago a mother punished her five year old>daughter for wasting a roll of expensive gold wrapping paper. Money was>tight and she became even more upset when the child used the gold paper>to decorate a box to put under the Christmas tree.Nevertheless, the little girl brought the gift box to her mother thenext morning and then said, "This is for you, Momma."The mother was embarrassed by her earlier over reaction, but her anger>flared again when she opened the box and found it was empty. She spoke>to her daughter in a harsh manner.>"Don't you know, young lady, when you give someone a present there's>supposed to be something inside the package?">She had tears in her eyes and said, "Oh, Momma, it's not empty! I blew>kisses into it until it was full."The mother was crushed. She fell on her knees and put her arms around>her little girl, and she begged her forgiveness for her thoughtless>anger. An accident took the life of the child only a short time later, and it>is told that the mother kept that gold box by her bed for all the years>of her life.Whenever she was discouraged or faced difficult problems she would open>the box and take out an imaginary kiss and remember the love of the>child who had put it there.

In a very real sense, each of us, as human beings, have been given aGolden box filled with unconditional love and kisses from our children,>family, and friends . There is no more precious possession anyone could>hold.>>You now have two choices:>> 1. Pass this on to your friends, or>> 2. Delete it and act like it didn't touch your>heart.>> As you can see, I took choice No. 1.>> Friends are like angels who lift us to our feet, when our wings have>trouble remembering how to fly. If you receive this more than once in>return just know that your friends have also thought of you.>>

HAPPT HANUKKAH/Entry for December 15, 2006

Hanukkah is the most widely celebrated American Jewish holiday, possibly because it is a fun, child-centered occasion. It is celebrated with excellent food, exchanging gifts, and lighting beautiful menorahs (special Hanukkah candelabras) filled with brightly colored candles. Unlike some of the other Jewish holidays, which require intense spiritual reflection or elaborate preparation, it is easy to celebrate. Many Jewish holidays commemorate events invested with historical and religious meaning, and Hanukkah is no exception. Hanukkah means "rededication," and it commemorates the rededication of the Temple in Jerusalem after its desecration by foreign forces. The celebration also reaffirms thecontinuing struggle to live by God's commandments and to lead Jewish lives. When all is said and done, perhaps the most important message of Hanukkah may be found in the name of the holiday itself: Dedication. When Jews have dedicated themselves, through faith and action, to the pursuit of high religious and human ideals, Judaism has been strong. That imperative, to strengthen our religion and our people, remains an important challenge at this season, in every generation. Hanukkah begins this year (5767/2006) and every year on the 25th of the Hebrew month of "Kislev." The 25th of Kislev corresponds to the evening of December 15th, 2006.

It's Monday

It's Monday...how is everyone doin'?
I thought I might make it here in time to say "Goodmorning", but, not quite, since it is not too much after 12:00.

I've got the day off, which is nice. Aaron was out of town for the weekend, and today, so we won't start back to work till tomorrow. You know what that means...Sat. Sun. and Monday's stuff to ship out. We kept adding stuff to Fridays order, as it came in, so that we could be just that much more ahead of the game come Tues. It always makes for a crazy day when we don't ship for 3-4 days.

Even with 3 days off, it seems that my weekend has gone too fast! Of course, with us just having the one car, it had me getting out early to take Lee to work, when I normally wouldn't have had to do that, had we had both cars. But...if he takes off with the only working one...you know where that leaves me! A FOOT! And I don't live close enough to anything to walk....that's for sure. So, it seemed like I didn't have the relaxing time I usually do on the weekends, since I had to get out and take him. At least on Sunday we didn't have to get up and rush around too much.

Maybe things will go a little smoother now...Lee got my caddy fixed. He looked at it yesterday morning before leaving for work, to see if he could figure out what was going on. As we suspected, the breakline had a crack in it, and pushing on the break, just caused it to go squirting everywhere! So...before taking him to work, we stopped by O'Rilleys to check on the part. The store we went to did not have it in stock, but one of the other stores in town, not far from Lee's work, had two of them. So...I dropped Lee off, ran by the other store, and got what we would need. I also needed to run by the store, so while I was out, did that too. Lee thought the store was going to be open till 5...they were last weekend, but yesterday, they closed at 4, which REALLY helped us, because it gave us enough daylight still, that Lee could come home and get the breakline installed before it was pitch dark! I'm so glad to have it done. I had to get out today and grab a couple of things, and was actually looking forward to getting back in my ole caddy again. Guess that's gonna be kinda hard to do...hehehehehe I barely remember Lee hollerin'...since I was still half asleep.... " I'm headed for work"....When I got up...I think it was around 10, and looked out the window, guess what I saw???? NO CADDY!!! lol I'm sure Lee's excuse will be... "I wanted to test the breaks, and see how they were workin'!" lol I know it can't be because he needs the heater...it's almost 50 now, and the high 53. lol So much for driving my Caddy to the store today!

Since Lee was workin' on the Caddy as soon as we got home, Landon decided to come in here with Moriah. We had originally said we were going to go there. But...his washer hasn't been workin' right...it's not spinning, and he was waaaaaaaaaay backed up on laundry, so had decided to come into town to go to the laundromat. He figured that would be the quickest way to get it all caught up...which is probably true. But...it also takes a whooooooole lot of quarters, and I know they don't really have the extra. So, I talked him into just staying here, and us busting our butts to try and get it all done here at my house. We did pretty good. He had about 5 loads, and we were able to get them all done except one, that needed to be dried. He's gonna come back sometime today to get it. I'm not sure when, but I told him I had the day off and would be here most of the day. I don't have much to do when I get out, so it shouldn't take long, and even if he comes while I'm gone, he has a key to get in.

The weather is suppose to be great, all week. That is Missouri for ya...last weekend we have 15 1/2 inches of snow, and this week, by Friday, it is suppose to be 60! GO FIGURE!!! I haven't checked any advanced weather, so I'm not sure what they're predicting for Christmas. Just so there is no snowy roads, since we're going to be headed to Lebanon...as long as the weather cooperates.

Lee has been telling me that the store is going to be open on Sunday's till Christmas...but this year, Christmas Eve falls on a Sunday. They normally work on Christmas Eve too, although they usually close early. But, boy, it would SURE be nice, if they'd just close altogether. It may not make much sense to you, but I can understand working on a Sunday...in their business anyway...and I can understand working on Christmas Eve...I guess, as long as you're out early...BUT...when they both happen to just fall on the same day....ya know what I mean? Personally, I don't think we need places like jewelry stores to be open on Sundays. I completely understand places like grocery stores, or wal mart...pharmacies...things that people might need. But, no one NEEDS to buy jewelry on a Sunday. I guess I just long for the good ole days, when Sunday's were a day that people stayed home...spent time with their family and friends, and stepped back away from all the daily grinds of life. I think there are a whole lot of people, who are wrapped waaaaaaay too tight, and waaaaaaaaay to stressed, because they won't take the time to slow down and enjoy the beauty, and the love that surrounds them. They're too caught up in there work, work, work, money, money, money...and they're missing the most beautiful parts of their lives. It's sad! So...as I was saying, if by some chance the store isn't going to be open on Sunday/Christmas Eve, I think it might be nice to get up early and go to Lebanon, and attend church with my Mom and Dad. That would really be nice. It's been a long long time, since we were able to attend church the Sunday before Christmas. We had planned on going down later...after Lee got off, which is what we'll have to do, if they work, but if not, that would give us more time to spend with them, and would also not get us home as late that night. We'll be spending Christmas day here...Landon, Amanda and the kids will come over that afternoon, after they do they're morning Christmas at the house with the kids. This will be Mary's first Christmas, so that will be REALLY exciting! I know I'll have TONS of pictures to show you. So...just prepare yourself. lol

Well, guess I'll head outta here, and see what I can get done. I've got a bit of housework to do, and then need to run to the store. lee will be home late tonight...they've extended their hours till 8, so it will be close to 8:30 by the time he is home. This is the only thing I don't like about this time of year....his long, long hours.

Hope you all have a great Monday...and a great week. I'll be back in touch with you all, soon!

Much love,
Lev

I wanted to let you know to mark your calenders...send yourselves reminders. Beginning Dec. 13th, I am going to be playing a clip from Handel's Messiah, and my blog pages that allow me to add this type of thing. Not all of them do. I will be adding a different song, everyday for a week, ending with his famous "Hallelujah Chorus", which I will add Christmas morning. These are such beautiful pieces of music, and they always touch my heart. I hope they do yours as well. I will be posting them on Lev's Notes, Lev's Place, Lev's Corner Nook, Music, Music, Music, Lev's Frappr. I will remind you when we get closer to the dates. Dec 13-25.

Now...to the new music...

On Lev's Notes, I've added, what I personally think, is one of the most beautiful Christmas Carols ever written. I do believe it will go down in history as one of the classics. It's called, "Mary, Did You Know"...and sung by the VERY talented, Kathy Mattea. I KNOW you'll love it!

Lev's Notes

On Music, Music, Music, you'll find a great video by Christine Agularia, and Brian Mc Knight, doing one of MY favorites... "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas"

Music, Music, Music

On my Frapper page, is a video by a guy I've really been enjoying lately...he's been all over the TV...and radio...Rascal Flatts. This is a fabulous version of "Little Drummer Boy"

Lev's Frappr

Also...don't forget about my 2 new blog pages below. They both also have Christmas videos, and audio's for you to enjoy.

I've got a few other videos, and audios to share, and only a week to do it in...so...that just means you need to check back in often, to all my pages above. I SURE wouldn't want you to miss anything!

The Weekend is upon us!

YIPPPPPPEEEEE!
You know how I am about my weekends. I was really glad when my work day was over. I was there a little longer than ususal...9:30-2. We tried to get as much done as we could, since he isn't going to be here on Monday...which is another reason I'm excited about the weekend. It's gonna be a 3 dayer!!!

I haven't done much since I've been home. Just putzin' on the puter, most of the time. Moriah has to work this weekend, but since we have a car with no heat, Landon and the kids are going to come to our house...again...they showed up last night, which is always cool. I'm always game to see my grandkids, and landon. He has a heater, and then Moriah will just ride home with him later when he leaves to pick up amanda. He'll drop Amanda off at work at 5, and then will be headed this way...as far as I know. So, he should be here before too much longer.

I was going to try and cook something, but geez...don't think I'll do that. I think it's a good night to just order pizza. We can have it delieverd, and no one has to get out in the cold. Pizza Hut is close, and one of our favs. Right now they're doing the domino's deal...3 single med. topp. for $15. So, that's a pretty cheap deal, when you're gonna be trying to feed 7. Those 2 boys...Kenny and Gabriel, are bottomless pits...or have hollow legs or something. lol Especially Kenny. That child can put away more food than anyone I know. Last night I fixed sausage and pancakes. kenny had 2 pieces of sausage...3 pancakes, then finished mine...which was about 1, and then finish up Moriah's which was equivilant to 1 also. That's 5 pancakes...for a 7 yr. old. I don't know where he puts it!!! lol

Tomorrow it is suppose to be 50!!!! WOW!!! That's a heatwave compared to last night, and today. Our low last night was 1...the windchill was -5. Today, our high was only about 29. It's just been bitter cold all day long. The wind sure ISN'T helping! We won't know how to act tomorrow. The one decent day we're going to have, when Lee could look at my car breaks, and he has to work. I don't think it's suppose to be too bad on Sunday either,
but he has to go in at noon, and by the time he's off at 5, it will be dark. Unless he gets up early on Sunday...his only day to sleep in, and has it done before noon. I seriously doubt if there's anyway he can get to it tomorrow...go in a little later, or something. Get off a little early??? Something, but I know I'd sure like my car back, not to mention a heater, and a defrost. We've got to figure out what the deal is with the hearter in the dodge. lee's got an idea, which he said he'd check. It's the only think we haven't done to try and remedy the prob. I just know you freeze your bum off!!!! I have a feeling that Landon will go pick up Lee again for me tonight...he did last night...since he's the one with the heater. Lee gets the treat of riding home in a warm car...vs. a cold one.

Well, now that my plans just changed, I'll have to rearrange my evening. lol Amanda just called me...she had the night off and didn't have tow work. She was in town paying some bills, and wanted to know if she needed to come by and pick up Moriah, or were we coming out later. I told her that we had discussed Landon coming here, but evidently, that isn't what happened. So...rather than be out late in a car with no heat, Amanda just came by to pick her up, and they left just about 5 mins. ago. So..Now I will have to go get Lee, and He will have to ride home in a cold car. lol

Since the kids aren't coming, we'll probably just grab a bite to eat before we come home. I'm not sure if we'll do pizza, like I originally thought, or maybe Mexican...we have a fav.
place that isn't too far from home, or maybe Culver's which is on our way home too. I'll just see what sounds good to Lee when I go get him.

Guess I've talked your leg off again... haven't I? lol Those of you that know me, know that I have a way with words just rollin' off my tounge, and I sometimes don't know when to quit. Like now....so c ya later!

Much love,
Lev

Hump day's over

Last week I was rushin' humpday...lol...this week, I just completely missed it!

It's very sunny here in central Missouri, which is helping to slowly melt away this 15 1/2" of snow we got, but the sun is not doing much to warm up the air. The wind is blowing about 13 mph, and that makes the 16 it is, feel like 2. It is bitter bitter cold out there.

I got off work at a decent hour. I have been most of the week. With us only down to one car right now, I've been taking Lee to work, and then just heading on to work myself, rather than come back home, and not for long at that, then go back across town again. So, for the past couple of days, I've been done around noon. I have to take off here in a bit to go pick up Lee. He has a drs. appt. at 3:30. He hasn't been feelin' too whippy the past couple of days. His gutt's been bothering him, and his blood sugar has been acting weird..when it really shouldn't be. So...he was due to see his dr. anyway, so we just got in as soon as we could. We're not always that lucky to get in the following day. I just called them yesterday to set up the appt.

I guess it depends what time we're done at the drs. whether Lee goes back to work or not. I suggested that to him this morning...about just coming home after his appt., but he said he didn't see that happening. He working too many hours, which always happens this time of year, but health wise, he really shouldn't be doing that...he use to be able to keep up with those kinds of hours. That was a few years younger though. So...who knows. I'd like to think he could have an early day today...he could sure use it. But, I somehow doubt that will be the case.

Lee's mom is in Fl. Naturally, each time she calls, she has to mention about the 80 degree weather they're having, when she knows very well, we're sitting here with all this snow. I think she gets a kick out of it.

Well, I can't believe I did this....as if I needed another one, but I have a new blog! Yes...I know what you're thinkin'. lol "This girl sure loves to talk!!!" So...here it is, another blog for you to add to your "check out this" list. I hope you enjoy it. Make sure ya leave a message, and come back and visit often!

Kirk's best friend, Ben, arrived in Australia yesterday. Kirk and Tara-Lee picked him up at the airport in Melbourn. When Kirk IM'd me last night to tell me, he said they were both sooooooo excited. He said they were both just great big ear to ear grins, when they first saw each other at the airport. Already, Ben says he loves it there. It's his first trip downunder! He is down there on a 90 day visa, and will return back to the states then. I know that Kirk will hate to see him leave. But, I'm great that Ben was able to get down there. Kirk really needs "something from home", around him. It will make him feel good. We miss them so much. What I'd give to hit the lottery right now!

Well, guess I'll head outta here. I'll have to be taking off in a bit. Guess I ought to see what I can do around the house. I'm sure I'll be back later to drop in and see who's been around. Hope you've all had a great day!

Much love,
Lev

Ready for this evening

Boy, was I ever ready to get back home and home to stay, as I was today. I guess it was just a typical Monday. My caddy has a breakline that leaking, so we're down to one car, which is lovely, (that was sarcastic), but even lovlier with this weather we have now. So...Lee and I had already discussed that I was going to have to take him to work, so that I'd have a way to work. I even called Aaron last night to make sure he was back in town, and not dealing with being snowed in someplace. I wanted to see if I could go ahead and come to work as soon as I dropped Lee off, which would be a little after 9. That's a bit earlier than we usually start. He said that would be fine, so I mentioned to Lee what I was going to do, once I got off the phone with him. I got up around 8...poured my coffee, and came up to check my email. Moriah didn't go to school today, they were running snow routes on the busses, and just moving here, we didn't know where the bus routes ran. She wasn't feeling very good anyway, she was sick last night, so hadn't planned on going anyway. While checking my email, Moriah comes stumbling out of her room, and in the room here, where I am...we talked a bit...asked her how she was feeling, general chit chat. Then she asked me if "dad" was going to work...I answered, yeah, that I was going to take him in just a bit, to which she informs me that he just pulled out of the driveway and drove off!!! HE WHAT!!! How am I suppose to get to work???? I ran downstairs...flung the door open, and ran outside in my nightshirt....which it was VERY VERY COLD...no Lee to be seen. So, i ran right in, grabbed my cell, and called, hoping I could catch him on the next street over. Next thing I know, I hear Lee's cell....ringing on the kitchen counter. So much for calling him!! So...I had to get on the phone, and call Aaron, and let him know what had happened, then I had to wait awhile, till Lee got to work, so I could call him. When I finally got ahold of him, I double checked to see if my caddy was driveable at all...to which he immediately said no...which I didn't really think it was safe either. So...Lee just said he would come back and get me. He got back here, had another cup of coffee, and I got him to work around 10. So, at least his day was a bit shorter.

My day was totally crazy...as usual. I didn't work on Friday, and I'm not sure if Aaron did any shipping, but today, was a mad house...about 75 books shipped today. I had them all boxed, and on the porch...and even though it was almost 3, we didn't think the mailman had been by, plus, the roads are so awful, we were sure he had been detained. But...about the time I think I'm going to get to leave, a few more books straggle in, that have to be packaged. Next thing I know, he is asking me to load all these packages in my car...he's afraid that we missed the mail man. He knew I didn't want to drag all those packages to the postoffice, and he even mentioned it. I really didn't think the mail man had been there yet. But, I hauled them all to my car...all but one big box, which was so full I couldn't lift it, and had to have Aaron carry it to the car. Then, once I drove away, it dawned on me how I was going to get a box that big into the postoffice by myself, since I couldn't lift it. I wasn't a happy camper...at all. As I was coming around the corner...a couple of blocks ahead of me, I happen to see our postman. I didn't know if he had been by yet or not, which I found out after catching up with him, that he had. So, at least I caught him, and didn't have to haul it all to the postoffice...just a few steps from my car to his truck. I still had to go to the postoffice with two international pkg. anything that is international, and weighs over 1 lb., has to be taken to the p.o. and personally "handled" my a postal employee. They have to hold it, and ask me if there is anything fragile, parashable, liquid, hazzardous, etc. They all know what we ship up there, but they have to ask the question. Naturally, it didn't use to be that bad before 9-11. anyway, so I have to go to the p.o. with 2 pkgs. When I walked in...I'm facing a line of about 7-8...and several more had gathered, immediately behind me. I knew I was in for a wait. I stood in line about 15 mins. From there, I had to run to the store...$ General, to Micky D's, to grab Moriah something to eat. I finally got home about 6. For the most part, the roads are clear, but there are still big icy spots, that make the going very slow, to avoid knocking the bottom out of your car, so traffic seems to be just creaping. Lanes aren't their full normal size, and in someplaces, snow still covers the center lines, so you can't tell where the lanes even are. What I did after work should have taken me about 1/2-45 mins., before I was home. Instead...it took me almost 2. By the time I got home, it was dark, the temp. was dropping and it was getting colder. My fingers were numb, even with my gloves on, my nose froze, and my toes...well, I just couldn't feel them. I was never so glad to get inside in the warm, and into my slippers to get the feet warmed up. Of course...with me having the car, I was not able to stay in this nice warm house, like I wanted, and had to leave a little before 7...get back out in the cold, and go pick up Lee at work. We finally got back home, into some heat, a little before 8, and BOY, was I ever glad to know I was home for good, for the evening! Remember...we're driving a car right now with no heat...so that's why I'm freezing my butt off, driving around. If I had some heat in the car, I'd at least be warm while I was driving.

As cold as I was when I got home, I had decided that I was going to reheat the turkey noodle soup, that I made the other night, for supper. I put it on the stove when we got home, and only had to reheat it. It tasted really good, and helped us warm up from outside in this bitter cold. Right now, about 10pm, it's 26...but the wind chill makes if feel 18. Our low tonight is suppose to be 17...so wonder what the windchill will be then? I'm glad I'll be tucked away... warm in my bed by then!

Well, I've written an epic here, as usual....yackin' your legs off. I hope that you all had a wonderful day...wherever you're at. Hope you have a tomorrow just as wonderful!

Much love,
Lev

GIVING BACK

On a Sunday afternoon

From the inside, looking out the window, my world covered with this blanket of white...yet the sun shinning brightly, it looks so beautiful. I guess your attitude about how beautiful it is doesn't really change, but, we all know that looks can be deceiving, because, when you walk outside, your idea changes dramatically, when you feel how cold it is. It's currently 21...our all time high for the day...25. Of course, with the wind blowing at 10mph, it feels like 8!!!! Wow...that IS COLD!

You can tell that it's December, and Christmas on the way, because, here it is...a sunday, and Lee went into work. The store is normally closed on Mondays, but until Christmas, it will now be 7 days a week. They will be swamped for the next 3 weeks. The store today was opening at noon...closing at 5, and Lee was in the process of getting ready, so he could leave within the next 30 mins. or so, until we noticed that he had missed a call. It was Rob, and he wanted to tell Lee that he could come in around 1:30 if he wanted, set one stone that has to be done, and then he can leave. That was a welcome bit of news.

We had made plans to go to Landon's for supper. Moriah is there, so we need to get her. We're going to do some supper while we're there. I was gonna take Lee to work..then pick him up, so we could head right to Landon's, rather than him take the car, have to come back home, and then leave again. It wasn't long after we decided to do that, that we heard the message from Rob. So...Lee has run into work to set this stone, which he doesn't think will take more than 45 mins. - 1hr. Then he'll come on home. We probably won't leave for Landon's right away. I'm gonna say around 4 or so, uless something happens that Lee gets tied up at work. I sure hope not. He wasn't looking forward to having to work today as it was.

I'm cooking some bean greens...lol...as we always call them in this house. They're one of our favorite veggies. I got them started just before Lee left. I'll be taking them to Landon's, and we're going to do some blackened chicken, and dirty rice...green beans, slaw, and cornbread. I'm getting hungry just thinking about it.

While I was keeping an eye on my beans for a bit, I also fixed myself a bagle w/cream cheese.....yummmmmmmm and unloaded my dishwasher, and cleaned up the kitchen, as much as I hated to do it...you know how I am. But, I sure didn't want to come home to the mess when we got back from Landon's, and knowing that I'd feel better about it once I knew it was done, I decided to just get it over with. Once that was done, then I treated myself, ....and here I am, at the puter, writing you guys!

I washed my hair last night, but didn't feel like messin' with rolling it, not to mention I HATE sleeping on rollers...or should say hate NOT sleeping on roller, which means I would have had to stand and dry it...which I didn't feel like doing either. So, today, I just wet it down and rolled it. I knew I had all day for it to dry, (my hair is really thick, and takes a loooooong time, especially on rollers). I did use the hair dryer on it for oh....maybe 20 mins or so, to just help boost it along. I think it's about dry...I sure hope so, cause my head is starting to itch with these silly things in...but, one day of toment in these, saves me from having to mess with it much through the week. So...here in a bit, I'm gonna go hit my head with the dryer for a few more mins, then check to see the status...hopefully, I can get these things out of my hair, so I can scratch my head!!!

Well, guess I'm outta here...need to check on my beans, and then my hair. Hopefully, if all is going well at work, Lee should be back in 30 mins. or so. Then we'll have a bit of time to relax before we go to Landon's.

So...I hope you all have had a great afternoon...relaxing, and beautiful!
I'll talk to all of you soon!

Much love,
Lev

Winter Storm Pictures

Boy...did we ever get some snow!!! We've been putting up Christmas decorations all day, although, we still aren't finished. I've got just a couple of things to do tonight, then I'll finish up tomorrow. So, this will be a quickie note. Needless to say, Lee didn't go to work today, and there was no school. We got every bit the 12-14 inches that they said we would. And it drifted as much as 3 feet in some places around our house. Everything pretty much came to a standstill. I-70, the major interstate across missouri was complete closed, as was hwy. 63 south, towards Ashland, Jeff City, and the lake area. They have some of the major roads in town cleared, but have already said that the sub divisions will be the last to get cleared. We can't get out of our drive, which you'll understand when you see the amt. of snow.

The first 3 pict. were taken from my upstairs window. You can see how bad it's drifted on the roof, and can tell how deep the show is by looking across the street where the neighbor has shoveled his driveway. A couple of views out my back door, and the view outside my front door, taken from inside. You can see how bad the snow had drifted in front of our door. Lee's boss is picking him up for work tomorrow since we can get the cars out. Anyway...it is quite the mess. I guess maybe tomorrow, we'll try to do a bit more shoveling. Yo can't go at that for too long...it will wear you out...not to mention cause a heart attack. So, we've just been shoveling a little at a time.

I hope that where ever you are, you're not having to deal with this type of mess...and are enjoying a sunny beach somewhere! Take care

Love,
Lev
