A Wonderful Weekend!
We have had a wonderful weekend. I hope you all have had a great one as well.
I worked yesterday, as did Lee. I got off at 5, and headed home for a couple of hours before having to go back and pick Lee up from work. Cheri and Richard, our best friends, came in from out of town last night. Moriah, Tara-Lee and Eva went with me to pick up Lee from work. We had planned on going straight to the motel where cheri and Richard were staying, but they got started a little later than planned, so we had a bit of time to come home so Lee could freshen up after work. Since we didn't have enough room in the car, I dropped Moriah, Lee, and Tara-Lee off at the motel to wait for Cheri and Richard, and then I drove to Ashland to pick up Landon after he got off work, just a little after 8. We then went back to the motel to wait for Cheri and Richard to arrive. There's a nice little bar where we were able to have a drink and visit while the kids went swimming.(below is a pict.). We had a wonderful time visiting. We were able to meet them back there again this morning to join them in a breakfast buffet, that the motel offers, and then spent some more time swimming, and relaxing in the hot tub. After a bit, we came back to our house for a bit before heading out to Grand Cru...the restaurant that Kirk works at, for a bite of lunch. ( http://www.grand-cru.biz ) Kirk had to work today, and so we opted to go there for lunch, since it was going to be Cheri and Richard's last opportunity to visit with Kirk before he leaves for Australia. We had a wonderful lunch, and another great visit. Landon had to be at work at 5:00, so he rode with Cheri and Richard, since they go right by his house on their way back home. That saved me another trip, and some gas, which was nice. We got home this afternoon around 4:30. Since then, we've been doin' nothing but takin' it easy. Kirk and Tara-Lee have gone over to visit a friend, and then are later headed for another friends house where they're going to spend tonight. Since their lease on their apt. is up, they're just spending the next couple of weeks staying with us, Landon, and friends, so that they'll be able to spend a little more time with all of us before leaving. The date is getting closer and closer, and more and more I dread the day that comes when they finally leave.
It's back to work tomorrow for Lee. At least I have the day off. Today was our only day to sleep in, and naturally, we were up a little before 8, in order to meet Cheri and Richard for breakfast. So...looks like it will be next Sunday before there will be anymore sleeping in. Well...actually, it will be Saturday, since Lee and I both have that day off. We are going to be going to the Lake Saturday night to attend another wedding for a cousin. As far as we know, Lee's mom, Laura, and Cindy, the ones we went to visit in Indiana, will be here for the wedding as well, so we'll be able to see and visit with them somemore also, which will be nice.
Moriah starts school on Wed. I really think deep down that she is excited...her first year in "high school"...a sophomore. But, yet she says that she isn't ready. She has really enjoyed her summer, and I'm sure wishes that school wasn't ready to start so soon. I know that my summer always seemed to go by way too quickly, when I was in school.
I feel completely exhausted. It's not that I've really done that much. All last week I worked the morning shift at work, 7-1, which I'm not use to doing...I hate getting up that early in the morning. Then, with Cheri and Richard here last night, it was almost 1 before we even left the motel to head home. I took Lee and Moriah home first, and then had to drive back to Ashland (which is only 10 miles....I make it sound like it takes forever...hehehehe) to take Landon back home. Unfortunately, it took me longer than usual to get there and back. There was a horrible accident on the highway that had blocked both lanes. They had police stationed in the middle of the highway, and not allowing through traffic, so we had to take the back roads in order to bypass the wreck, and come out on the highway on the far side of it. I also had to do that on the way home, as the traffic was still at a standstill in the middle of the highway. It was bumper to bumper, and no one could go anywhere. I can normally get to Landon's and back in about 30 mins....last night, it took me about an hour. I didn't get home till a little after 2. Then to boot, had to be up early again this morning. I could sooooo easily lay down right now and be out like a light, but then I'd be up late, and probably wouldn't want to go back to bed. I'd probably end up feeling worse...so guess I'll just stay up. I'd like to think I could get in bed early tonight, but something tells me that by the time bedtime comes, I'll have caught my second wind, and won't be tired then. lol
Well, guess I've yacked your ears off enough, for now. Hope you have all had wonderful weekends too. I just wish they lasted longer than they do. They seem to go by to quickly.
I'm sure I'll be back in touch later. Hope you have a wonderful, and relaxing evening! Take care...
Much love,
Lev
