Cheech and Chong
This all started a few years back, when I started to tell an online friend about a skit that my husband and his cousin/pastor, had put on at our local church. Mike is the pastor of the church we use to attend, and still do on occasion, when we go to visit. It is NOT your normal church, as there is alot of catering to youth, and motorcycle riders, and those also on probation. Mike and Lee are cousins by marriage. Lee and I were in on the very beginning of Mikes church, when it was started just a little over 5 yrs ago. In 5 yrs, they have outgrown 2 buildings and are now in a third and continuing to add on. God is alive and growing in that place. Anyway, back when the church was first started, Mike came up with this idea for a skit. Remember at this time, he is catering to alot of bikers... we were "heavy" in the CMA (Christian Motorcyclists Association), and we also had alot of youth... so Mike was wanting to cater to that type of crowd, that is not always acceptabed at the "local" church. So he gets the idea of a skit to put on at church. And here is his idea..... Cheech and Chong get saved at a tent revival!!!! Now... I'm sure you all know who cheech and chong are.... If you're anywhere close to my age you do. So Mike writes the following skit about what might happen were cheech and chong to get saved at a tent revival. Now Mike instantly want to play Cheech. .... but who for chong. Well, guess who? Lee was the choice.... His long hair and beard... with his bandana around his head from riding the harley.... he looked just like Tommy Chong. So upon finding the script, typed it up, saved it to my puter, and sent it to her. Of course, I had to also share it with alot of other people. From time to time...I'll remember that I have it, and will resend it, since it has possibly been months, new people in your address book, new groups, etc. So...I've added some new blogs, and thought this would be the PERFECT opportunity to share it again. It is soooo worth posting, over and over.
I will kinda warn you.... this is a "little" long... but believe me, with your imagination, it will well be worth it. They had the church rolling when they did this skit. Then when the skit was over, Mike would finish his sermon, covering some of the subjects that had been mentioned in the script.... the speck in your bothers eye... the parble of the lost sheep... etc. On several occasions Mike and Lee were asked to come to other chruches to perform the skit for them. I know that you will all love it as much as we who have seen it do.

>Cheech: Most of the time he was quotin' that Jesus dude.

>Cheech: I know man. I'm gonna try to get along with that guy. Did you catch the part about pointing out the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye when you've got a plank in your own? There's some people that you need to be nicer to too, man.
>
>Chong: OK man. I know, relax dude. Did you hear him talk about worry.

>Cheech Man, don't talk about conviction. Last time I got convicted for stealing that car.... I almost had a heart attack.
>
>Chong: I know man, but the judge put you on probation.
>
>Cheech: yeah, but if I mess up again the judge will drop the hammer on me.
>
>Chong: That's why you're always suppose to think what would Jesus do?
>
>Cheech: He sure wouldn't steal a car would he?
>
>Chong: God's cool man. If you mess up and then tell God your sorry and stop doin' it, He forgives you and forgets about it.
>
>Cheech: Yeah, and if you mess up again, you tell God you're sorry again and stop it, He forgives you and forgets about it again? He doesn't say... "That's it!! You're going to hell.", God wants us all to go to heaven.
>
>Chong: That's right man. People just gotta know. They gotta be told.
>
>Cheech: Remember when he talked about the harvest? He said, " the harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest therefore to send out workers into His harvest fields."
>
>Chong: Remember that time we went and picked oranges? Man there were so many oranges. I thought.... "no way. We'll never get done."
>
>Cheech: Yeah man, but my cousins came and my cousin's friends, and my cousin's friend's cousins. And we got it done man.
>
>Chong: Yeah man. We all had to work together. It was way too much for one or two guys.
>
>Cheech: That stuff about the fish was cool.
>
>Chong: You mean the story about the guys fishing with a net?
>
>Cheech: Yeah man, they pulled the net up on the shore and sat down to separate the fish.
>
>Chong: Oh yeah man. They put the good fish in baskets to keep and threw the bad fish away.
>
>Cheech: But how do you get to be a good fish?
>
>Chong: Jesus man,. When you ask Jesus to be your savior, you become a good fish, it's the only way.
>
>Cheech : I liked that pair of bulls about the lost cheep.
>
>Chong: That's parable man, not pair of bulls.
>
>Cheech. Ok man, whatever, so anyway, what about this lost cheep.
>
>Chong : Man, what's a cheep?
>
>Cheech: Cheep man, you know... baa... baa. Cheep!
>
>Chong: Man you should have quit doing drugs way before you did.
>
>Cheech: Right man, tell us about your cheep.
>
>Chong: You know man, this guys got a hundred sheep and one of them wanders off, so he leaves the 99 to go find the one. And He's happy when He finds it.. God doesn't want anybody to be lost.
>
>Cheech:.. Wasn't it neat at the end of his message?
>
>Chong: you mean the "Roman road" part?
>
>Cheech: First He said... "All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." Then He said... " If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead. You will be saved. Then He said, everybody close your eyes and bow your heads and then he said the salvation prayer and he invited people to pray with him if they wanted to get saved, and it went like this. Dear Lord, I know I'm a sinner and ask you to forgive me. I believe that Jesus was crucified, buried, and rose again. I ask Jesus to be my savior and Lord and put all my faith and hope in Him. I pray to you in the name of Jesus. Amen.
>
>Then with every bodies eyes still closed, he said,... if you prayed that prayer with me and meant it, raise your hand . Man..... I opened one eye,,,, and peaked around. Lots of people beside me had their hand up.
>
>Chong: I know man me too. Lots of people got saved last night.
>
>Cheech: Yeah man, it was cool. This chick grabbed me and hugged me, called me brother and said she loved me. She didn't hug me like she wanted to take me home.... She hugged me like I was her brother.
>
>Chong: I know man, some big sweaty dude did the same thing to me.
>
>Cheech: So what you gonna do today?
>
>Chong: The best I can man
>
>Cheech: me too man. Go tell people about Jesus. Hey, I love you brother.
