Good evening...
Thought I'd drop in and touch base with what all has been going on today, or since I talked to you last. Not much really. Rather an uneventful past couple of days...thank goodness. We pretty much made a lazy day of it yesterday. Moriah was the only one that left the house at any point yesterday...other than to let the dog out. She went to amanda's for awhile.
I ran Lee to work today, and then headed right out to Landon's. Amanda had a dr. appt. today, at 10. Landon called just as I was headed out of Columbia. He was on his break, and ran home for a bit. he has a 30 min. break, and he can be home in less than 5 mins., so lots of times he'll run home on his break. Anyway, he was still at the house when I got there, although, not for very long. He had thought he might get off a little early. He went in at 5:30 am. If so, he had talked about coming over and helping me move some furniture. But...after taking Amanda to the dr. and returning, and killing quite a bit of time on solitaire, we still hadn't heard from him, and it was going on 1. I still had stuff I wanted to do here at the house, so ran on up to the gas station...got gas, which I needed anyway, and then ran next door to Mc Donald's...but me a burger, and was able to talk to Landon. It was evident that he wasn't going to get off early, so I just came on home. I'm probably gonna have to have Moriah help me, cause it doesn't look like Landon and I are going to be able to coordinate any full days off together...and it will be a full day ordeal. Moving furniture, and cleaning as you go, is always a full day ordeal! lol So...looks like maybe Moriah has been elected to help. lol
Amanda's dr. appt went well. She got the results back from her glucose tollerance test, and she is diabetic. The dr. got her set up with a blood glucose monitor, so that she can keep track of her blood sugar levels. The dr. is hoping that once Mary is born, the diabetes will go away. It is "gestational"...? Is that the right word?
I got home and did get some cleaning done on the piece of furniture that I want to move. I want to take it out of my living room and put it in my bedroom. It's an antique piece, and can be used for clothes..and Lord knows, we could use the extra storage for clothes. We have entirely tooooo much furniture, for such a little house. And definately in our living room, so hopefully, this will free up some space in there as well. Got my laundry room picked up...or way better than it was...and a couple of things done in my bedroom, plus two drawers full of papers, candles, picutres, screws, poker chips..you name it, it was in these drawers. And alot of them had been in there since our fire, 3 years ago...so by the time I was done sorting through all that ...pitching what I didn't need and getting the rest put away, my hands were black with that nasty stuff...which I will never in my life forget how horrid and rancid it smelled. I think that might actually be the last of the fire stuff...well, my leather motorcycle jacket, and chaps haven't been cleaned yet. That's going to take some real elbow grease and buffing, and also a very large stuffed gorilla's of Moriah's. I don't know that it will ever come clean. It's really too big for my washer, plus, the fact that I'm not sure if it's even washable. I may check the label and see what it says. Depending on the contents...I might see if Rex would clean it for me. I'm sure he'll give me funny looks...or talk about how it's gonna have to be a seperate load...considering that it's smoked damaged. I guess "Amy", if we can at least get her cleaned, may go from being a white gorilla to a grey one. As long as black stuff isn't going to be rubbing off on everything. Moriah named her Amy, after seeing the movie "Congo"...she was probably about 10 or so...and she fell in love with "Amy", the main gorilla star of the movie. We went through a gorilla state for a few years..having to have every stuffed gorilla we saw...and for Christmas, Easter, birthdays...you name it...anytime a stuffed animal was appropriate. lol
Kirk called this afternoon, and we talked for a bit. I think he's homesick, as he was talking about how much he was missing everybody. He talked about his love for Lin and Neville, and how great they are, and they are wonderful people, but said that it just wasn't the same. I could only agree...we miss him so much, and who knows how long it will be before they're back again. They have only been gone about 4 months..but as a mom, I can promise you that it feels much...much longer than that. I don't know what the outcome will be, I just know that I have put it in God's hands...He always seems to know what to do with my needs...and my fears.
Well, the holidays are over...no more extra days off work. It's back to work tomorrow for me, and today for Lee. The past week and a half has been rather nice, with days off for the Christmas and New Year seasons.
I may try to move a few small things tomorrow..my sewing maching, and a small cabinet. They're going to have to be moved before I can move my other piece. Thursday, I have the day off, and will have the whole day, so I'll spend that day taking down all the Christmas decorations...putting them away, and cleaning as I put my regular stuff back out. I should be able to work around the piece i'm going to move, and then as soon as Moriah gets home from school on thurs., we can move it into my bedroom. The things that I'll be putting on it, and in it, won't take long. So once we get it moved and in there, I should be able to get it put together rather quickly. Then the fun part...to see the look on Lee's face when he comes home and the house is re-arranged. "Oh boy"...is usually his response. "She's in the re-arranging mode. lol And he usually voices his opinion of whether he likes it or not...or will "tolerate" it....cause he knows I do. lol
Well, here I am...talking your leg off. I did want to let you know real quick that I noticed some of the links on my music page not working...my "goosebumps" list...so I removed the links and just gave you the list. You can find the song listed in the list of songs on the right.
So...hope you all have had a good day...a great evening, and hope you tomorrow is wonderful as well.
Much love,
Lev
