Thursday's here
Goodmorning, and how is everyone doing on this Thursday?
It isn't quite as cold here in Missouri today, as it was yesterday, but it's still quite cloudy, and hazy, and just all around a very wintery looking day. We're suppose to hit about 47 today, so I guess anytime you're that close to the "50" mark, just a couple of days before the new year, you sure can't complain. By New Year's Day, they're talking close to 60 here in Columbia.
I have today and tomorrow off, so guess I'm going to try and get this house somewhat in order before New Year's Eve and day. It has been a bit on the topsy turvy side ever since Christmas Eve.We don't have any major party plans to bring in the New Year. I guess we've gotten a little slack in our old age....we've about got where we don't enjoy the "party" scene much anymore. Mainly, I just know that I don't enjoy waking up the next morning with my head feeling like someone's trying to split it with an ax! LOL. So...we don't do much of the going out anymore, at all. For the past several years, New Year's Eve, and Day, have been spent with out kids, at the house, just enjoying what ever it is we like to do....together, and bringing the New Year in among the family that we love so dearly. It is somewhat customary too, to get into a big Monopoly game, ....sometime before the evening is finished. But, like Michael, we will bring in the New Year with "hopefully", some good food, and most importantly, those we love.
Well, I've always like football...ever since I was in high school, although I've never been what you'd call a die hard fan. It sure wasn't on every Monday in our house. lol But, on special occasions...like the Super Bowl, or the Bowl games of the New Year, I surely enjoy sitting down and watching a good ole bout of American football. This year, will be a little on the special side, for those of us in Columbia, as our own Mizzou Tigers will be traveling to Shreveport, LA to play against South Carolina in the Independence Bowl. Needless to say, we're very proud of our Tiger's, and wish them well in the game, that will air on Friday afternoon....I've included the link, http://www.independencebowl.org/#
GO MIZZOU!!!!
I AM, going to do my best to get my music page on Willie Nelson added today, and maybe even another one...I still have plenty that I want to share with you. Question is, when I'll get started on them...???...I'm not really sure. I'll probably make myself get some of my housework done, before I take the time to start another music page. They're not hard to make, at all, but they can be rather time consuming, spending time hunting certain songs, pictures, etc,...taking the time to upload, and all that jazz, but, I'm definately going to get it added sometime before the day's over, "if the good Lord's willin' and the creek don't rise"..(that will be a good one for our English learning friends...lol)
Lee and I are going to be attending a memorial service, for a family member of a guy that Lee works with. Jonathan's father in law...his wife Michelle's father, passed away the day before Christmas Eve. There is going to be a memorial service tonight, and Lee and I really felt that SOMEONE from Tucker's should make an appearance. Of course, you might say, this should be a given...but....you don't know Lee's boss....and he doesn't bother to think about this kinda stuff. How horrible would Jonathan feel, if absolutely NO ONE that he works with could bother to show up. SO...Lee is going to make it VERY clear today, that he will be leaving early, as I'm going to pick him up, and we're going to attend the service, so that there is at least someone there from work. Not to mention that Jonathan and Michelle have done alot for Lee and I, in the past couple of years. Jonathan charge a rental car to his credit car, so that Lee and I could make it to Indiana last year, when Lee's dad died. Had it not been for him, I'm not sure what we would have done, because our car would have never made it there and back. So, Jonathan and Michelle have been wonderful friends to us, and Lee and I both feel it is our place to be there for them now, in this time of grief. Unfortunately, we have all been there at one time or another, and sorrow can sometimes be about more than we can handle...but, somehow, when those we love are around, we know we're not alone, and it makes it somewhat easier.
Even though I have to clean house, it's really going to be nice being able to stay at home today, without "having" to go anywhere. I won't pick Lee up until about 6:15 this evening. After the past few crazy days of finishing shopping, and all that went along with Christmas, today I can relax and glllllllllllllide, a little..lol..I hope. At least I have the whole day to do what I need to do, and can do it whenever I want. lol I'm my own boss today...hehehehe, and guess what???...if I don't do my work, I won't even get fired!
Well, I guess I'll head outta here...try and get some of my work done, so that I can come back and enjoy making somemore music pages. I'll be sure and let you know when I get them finished, so you can go check out the latest tunes. I hope you've been enjoying Gladys Knight and the Pips! Will talk to you all soon.
Have a great day!
Much love,
Lev
