A Good Friday, to ya...
Here I am, as promised, Lee dropped off at work, and now back home with my 2nd cup of coffee already poured. Well, guess it's my 3rd....I did have time for 2 cups before leaving to drop off Lee.
Lee and I both had to work on Wednesday. We had wanted to make plans with Landon for supper that evening, but decided it not too wise, since our car was on empty, and there'd be no way we'd have the gas to do that, and make it till Thursday evening, when Lee got paid, without running out of gas. So, we put that on hold till later. We did have to borrow $5 for some gas yesterday, since I needed to go pick up Landon and Amanda, and take her to a dr. appt. with her ob-gyn. While we were there, there was an appt. set up for the 27th for another ultrasound. This time, we will be able to tell if they're having a girl or a boy. Of course, they already have 2 boys...Kenny and Gabriel, so they are both really wanting a girl. But, as with Eva, we will love him/her dearly, regardless.
Landon is sooooo much like Lee....lol Of course we tease him about that....and the Morgan gene being so strong. It is ironic in a way, how Landon's life has somewhat paralelled his dad's. I was recently divorced, with a 6 month old baby, (Kirk), when I first met Lee. We began to see each other quite often, and he seemed to fit right in with the instant father role. But, once things started to really get serious, I went to him with the ultimatium....although I already knew the answer, and reminding him, that if this relationship continued, then he was going to have to be willing to not just accept me, but Kirk as well. With one came the other....we were a packaged deal. Of course, as I knew he would, Lee agreed, and not surprisingly, since I was already seeing him treat and love Kirk, as though he were his own. It was a quality that I always admired in Lee. Someone with a heart big enough, to become instant father and take on the responsibility of another mans child, and do it so lovingly, and willingly. Not every man is willing to do that. It showed me how big his heart was. So, at 18, when Landon began dating this girl, with a 5 month old baby, willing to take on roll of daddy, and at such a young age, when the real one had no desire to do so, and began loving this little boy as though he were his own, I saw then, that Landon had the same big heart that his father had...that quality that I admired so much. Then there's the fact that Landon looks sooooo much like Lee...lol It's like I spit out a little Lee, when I had him, so we weren't shocked at all when Amanda gave birth to Gabriel, and I looked at him for the first time in that delievery room....he looked exactly like Landon did when he was born!!! And now, at 3, when I look at him, many years disappear, and I feel like I'm looking at Landon, at that age, running around the house, full of meaness, and as awnry as they come. LOL There have been several occasions, when "LANDON!" came out of my mouth, just to realize that it was Gabriel, I was trying to get on to. hahahaha Of course, I had moriah, who looks just like her dad...and especially Lee's mom, Laura. So with Lee being father to 2 boys, and a girl, Lee and Landon both having children not naturally theirs, but taking on the responsibility...looking soooooo much alike, and their kids looking sooooo much like them, Landon is sure that this 3rd child of their's will be a girl... just one more way that his life will paralelle his dads. Oh well...how did I get off on that story...hahahahaha. Naturally, I'll let you know, when we find out what it's going to be.
So, on to yesterday, and the dr. While we were waiting for Amanda's dr. to come in, we spent a short amt. of time with one of the medical students...these are all associated with MU medical school, so if you go anywhere affiliated with MU hospital, you will come in contact with med students. Anyway, we were going to get to hear the heartbeat, which we were all excited about. The med student, upon being introduced to me...the new grandma, suggested that I was the one to preform the test. This was a really cooool surprise. So, he handed me the little machine, with the mic that picks up the baby's heart beat...put a big blob of jelly on amanda's belly, and then told me to just stick the mic in the middle of the blob, and start to rub in a circular motion, and then stop and hold it still. No sooner had I done that, that we were able to hear the "thump, thump...thump, thump"
of my grandbabies little heart. It was strong, and sounded wonderful. Gabriel, 3, grinned and nodded really big, when I asked him if he heard "his" babies heart beating! He was sooooo excited! When I went to pick them up, I had no sooner walked in the door, when the first thing he said to me was, "we're going to the drs". I looked at him and asked him, "why are we going to the drs?". Without a hesitation, what so ever, he looked at me and said, "to make sure the baby's okay.". Then, went right back to what he was doing. lol He is just such a little doll, and just cracks me up and has me rollin' in histerics, so much of the time. Just EXACTLY, like Landon did to me when he was little! lol
I always teased both Kirk and Landon, that I had put the "mother's curse" on them, that when they were little, and driving me absolutely nuts, I would look at them, and say...."one day, you are going to have children who act the way you do!!!! Then you'll know how I feel!" Well, I will NEVER forget the day Landon called me...Kenny was just a little over 2. The phone rang, and I said, "Hello"...... "Mom.....I am SO sorry, for all the times that I never listened to you!" I just started to laugh hysterically!!!!
"Kenny drivin' you nuts, huh?" Well, it had definately been one of those "terrible 2's" days. But, I reminded him, that the "mother's curse", really does work. lol
Landon and Amanda came over after we were done with the dr., hung out at my house, then around 3:00, landon and I drove out to his house, so we could be there when Kenny arrived home from school. We headed back to Columbia, ran by Tucker's to get Lee's check, which we DESPERATELY NEEDED, as I was sitting on empty, ran to get gas, then back to my house. When we got home, I had to immediately start on supper, and quickly, in order to be back in time to pick up Lee from work. It was cool and rainy here all day yesterday...way below normal temperatures, so we all decided that a big pot of homemade potato soup, would taste wonderful for supper. So, I had to get that prepared and on the stove cooking, so that it would be ready. Moriah and Amanda went with me to get Lee, then we ran by the pharmacy to pick up a prescription for Amanda, then headed back home where Landon had stayed with the boys, and watched the soup. We had a great evening, and what made it even better, was that we hadn't been back very long, when Kirk called, so he was able to talk to everyone, even Gabriel and Kenny talked for awhile...me, Lee, Landon, Moriah. We watched movies, messed on the puter...talked, just had a great time. I ran them home later, and got back to my house a little after 11:00. I'm headed out their later, and Landon and I have a couple of things to do. Moriah, and Lee have been wanting to try that new Domino's steak pizza...can't remember what's it's called. So, we may do that tonight for supper, and do it at Landon's vs. here. Since Moriah doesn't have school tomorrow, we can stay out there later, than when she needs to get up early the next morning.
I normally send these little "daily diary's" of mine, to my groups, and my blog. http://www.levsnotes.blogspot.com , and was hoping that certain friends were checking in there, to keep up on all that was going on. But, I do know, that there are some of you, that are receiving this in your mailbox now, that have lots going on, and are limited as to the time you get to spend on the puter. So, I have elected to also send this to your mailbox, in hopes that it will be easier for you to read there, rather than going to my blog home. I DO hope, that this will not discourage you from going ahead and making regular visits to my blog. There is so much more available on the blogs home page, more than just this email. So, you will be missing out on alot, if you don't visit. So, please, even though you are receiving this post via email, stop by the blog for regular visits. Please leave comments if you like...and it's always great hearing from you all, and knowing you've been in for a visit. I hope to see you all there.
Well, this has really turned into an epic today. lol Guess it's about that time anyway, when I need to start getting around and getting some stuff done to the house...and head out to Landon's before long. I'll be in and out on the puter all day. But will be checking in to see what all's been going on, while I've been out.
Hope you all have a great day! I'll talk to you all soon!
Much love,
Lev
