Just droppin' in
So, how is everyone doin'?
It is beautiful in Columbia today. The sun is shinning, it's about 50 and the snow and ice is melting, and pouring down the edges of the streets. Man, I am so ready for weather like this. Naturally, as MO goes though, I don't think it's going to last for long. Last I checked on weather, it was suppose to be nice like this all week, with 60 by Friday...but by Sat., and Sunday nights, temps dropping, rain beginning, and turning in to freezing rain, and snow. It just DOESN'T quit! It looks like maybe the week after that it's going to perk back up again. I should hope so....by then, spring will only be a couple of weeks away!
I'm feeling pretty good about my first week as an official Avon Representative. I only had 2 orders, but they totalled about $80, and $50 was the goal I needed to reach to maintain my free website for a month. So...I feel very good about that. I haven't done anything today. I had thought about it...I have books to pass out. But, tomorrow my order will be here, with the new books, and samples, and sm. plastic bags to distribute them in, so, I believe I will do it tomorrow when the rest of my supplies come in. It is suppose to be nice tomorrow too, so getting out and strolling around the neighborhood to drop off some books, should be quite enjoyable.
Well, I think I told you that we hadn't been able to find our cat. It has been about 3 weeks now, and we've not seen him at all. We checked the pound, also the papers, and posted signs. I found an add in the paper for someone who had found a black cat, and when I called, found out that they lived on the opposite side of town....prob. about 10 miles from where we live. I really didn't think it was him, but the descriptions we were giving over the phone, sounded so much like him. We had been told by the people at the shelter, that for him to go miles from home, if he were following a female in heat, would be nothing. So, I decided to go ahead and make the trip across town to check it out. It wasn't our cat, but the lady had not had any calls other than mine, in response to her ad in the paper. She asked if we would want him...even though we knew it wasn't our cat. We were really missing Spooky, and other than the color of the eyes, he looks identicle...and also the fact that this one has no "dingly balls"....if ya know what I mean....lol So...we don't have to worry about this one taking off to go chase you know what! lol I did leave her my #, and we decided that if anyone called her about the ad in the paper that she could give them my name and # and I would be more than happy to let them come look. We didn't receive any calls, but had we, and the true owners found, I would have definately given him back....even though it would have been hard to do...we got attached pretty fast...probably because he looks so much like Spooky. So...we now have us another cat, and he has quickly become a part of the family....we've named him Stormy. A couple of days after we got Stormy, we put signs up around the neighborhood. The following morning, we got a call from a couple of younger boys...Lee said prob. around 9-10...who said they had found our cat, that he had been hit, and was buried under the snow and ice. I don't know that Lee ever asked if they saw the color of his eyes. I'd like to think that it wasn't him, considering there was another blk cat in the neighborhood that looked just like him, other than the color of the eyes, I've since been thinking about it, and I haven't seen him in at least 2 weeks. Part of me is wondering if it was even Spooky they found or this other one. Of course, Spooky still hasn't come home, so the outcome is rather grim looking.
Well, guess I'm done yackin' Oh...I'm assuming everyone got pictures of my beautiful new granddaughter, Lilly! I hope you enjoyed them!
Talk to everyone soon!
Much love,
Lev
