OWLS

HUMOR To all you OWLS (Older Wiser Laughin' Souls)Wisdom from Grandpa...
Whether a man winds up with a nest egg, or a goose
egg, depends a lot on the kind of chick he marries.
Trouble in marriage often starts when a man gets
so busy earnin' his salt that he forgets his sugar.Too many couples marry for better,
or for worse, but not for good.
When a man marries a woman, they become one; but
the trouble starts when they try to decide which one.If a man has enough horse sense to treat his wife like
a thoroughbred, she will never turn into an old nag.On anniversaries, the wise husband always
forgets the past - but never the present. The bonds of matrimony are a good
investment only when the interest is kept up.
Many girls like to marry a military man -
he can cook, sew, and make beds and is in good
health, and he's already used to taking orders.
Eventually you will reach a point when you stop
lying about your age and start bragging about it.
The! older we get, the fewer things
seem worth waiting in line for.
Some people try to turn back their odometers.
Not me, I want people to know "why"
I look this way. I've traveled a long way
and some of the roads weren't paved.
How old would you be if you
didn't know how old you are?
I don't know how I got over the
hill without getting to the top.One of the many things no one tells you about aging
is that it is such a nice change from being young.
Ah, being young is beautiful,
but being old is comfortable.Old age is when former classmates are so gray
and wrinkled and bald, they don't recognize you.
If you don't learn to laugh at trouble, you won't
have anything to laugh at when you are old.
Have a GREAT Day...
And keep Laughing

Embarrassed by our kids

I was reading another friends blog, and she had posted something that I had seen quite often. It had to do with the things our kids can do, to literally embarrasses us to death!!!

I had to leave a comment, about an embarrassing moment I had with my oldest, Kirk, who is now living in Australia. Once I sent it, I decided it might be a cute story to share with all of you as well. So, I hope you get a kick out of it!

Kirk, 29 almost 30 now, had just gotten the potty thing down REALLY good. One Sunday morning, we set in church, in the usual pew, next to my mom, and dad, and granny. Kirk was a little over 2, and doing great on the potty, and letting you know when he needed to go. So, naturally, right in the middle of the sermon, he leans over and tells me he's got to pee. So, I take his hand, and we quietly slip out. Now mind you...we are sitting in about the 4th row from the front, way up front...not way back in the back. We get his task done, and I decide to go ahead and take advantage of being there, so I tell Kirk to stay put...which he did, for awhile. But, just as I'm about to walk out of the stall, I hear the bathroom door close, and I know he has gone. Quickly, I ran out the door, to see him ahead of me in the hallway...running. I can't yell...church is going on, so in a loud whisper, I tell him to STOP and wait for me. Of course...being in the terrible 2's...he doesn't. And I open the main doors to the sancuary, in time to hear him yell..."Granny...I peed!" At the TOP of his voice! I just about turned around and walked right back out. Everyone started bustin' up, and all I could do was shake my head. The preacher...Oh...he really helped too, when he reliped..."Well...there's no way I can top that!"

It reminds me of the old show, Kids Say The Darndest Things...with Art Linkletter...if you remember that it gives away your age.

TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK

Well, just out of curiosity, I thought I'd drop in and get your opinion on a few things. As you know, Kirk and Tara-Lee are due to have another baby girl, sometime within the next 4 weeks. She has already been having contractions. They have decided on the name Lilly, for this little girl, sorta an old fashioned name, like her sister Eva has. They haven't as of yet, decided on a middle name. With the first initial "L", Kirk has told me that they're wanting to have her middle name begin with "R", so she will have my initials LRM(Levonne Rae Morgan). Of which makes my head rather big! lol So, just for fun the other night, I did some searching for girls names that begin with the letter "r". Here are some I found that I really like, and I thought I'd get your opinions, on which ones you like best. Not that I am going to have the final say it the name anyway....I'm just curious! So...here they are, and please reply and let me know what you think.

Love,
Lev

Lilly Raiann Morgan........ I'm assuming pronounce with a long "a", like in "rain". It's Hebrew, and means grace;favor

Lilly Raeanna Morgan... I suppose this is suppose to be anna...as in ann, but I think it would be prettier pronounced with a short "a", like in "on" It's also Hebrew, and means the same as Raiann.

Lilly Reena Morgan....I suppose this is pronounced just like it looks. It's Hebrew, and means song.

Lilly Rayna Morgan...also Hebrew, but means song of God

Lilly Ralen Morgan... I couldn't find a meaning, or where it originated.

Lilly Rayana Morgan... also Hebrew, meaning grace;favor

Lilly Rayne Morgan It's English, and means strong councelor...and I assume pronounced like "rain".

Lilly Rebekkah Morgan.... This, of course, is Hebrew, and means "to tie". This is the Hebrew spelling, or can also be spelled Rebekah. Or, Rebecca, like you see it most of the time...but to me thats "plain". I'd want the Hebrew spelling.lol

Lilly Relana Morgan....couldn't find meaning or origin of this name either.

Lilly Raye Morgan... Hebrew, meaning ewe

(remember, Tara-Lee is Australian/Aboriginal decent)

I found Raelene, which is Australia...a blend of Rae, (short for Rachel, Hebrew, meaning ewe) and the name element-ene. But I never much liked that name(hope you don't) I'd say that's probably pretty close to the "Ralen" above, though, that I couldn't find anything for earlier. Although my name is Rae...I like the Ralen much better.

I also found Rata...maybe you know how to pronounce it, with a short "a" or long "a". It is Aboriginal/Polynesian, and means "a plant", in Aboriginal, and in Polynesian, means, "the name of a great chief". They say it is for a girl, or a boy.

I was going to tell you which were my favorites...but...I didn't want to swwwwwwwway you, one way or the other....lol

I'm looking forward to hearing from you!

Love,
Lev

Enjoying the weekend!

How is everyone enjoying their weekend?

Well, yesterday was it. My last day at work. I guess I left a little after 5. I had to give Aaron a ride to the uhaul place to pick up a truck, and I think we were both trying to act nonchelant, about leaving the house...like nothing was any different. And for awhile, I almost felt that way, as I walked out the door, ready to close it behind me, and out of the corner of my eye...I saw him...Buddy...Aaron's precious little dog, that I have grown to love so much. He is such a lover. Then it hit me...I'll probably never see his sweet little face again, and I turned back around....bent down, and rubbed him on his ears, as he gave me several big kisses on the cheek, and told him how much I was sure gonna miss him. But goodness...how could you not fall in love, and miss this adorable little guy!!!

I've never been much of one for little dogs. But, Buddy, and his breed stole my heart. I'd never hesitate to own one. He is a King Charles Spaniel.

So...we got in the car...and talked along the way. He mentioned it would be his last Friday night in Columbia...and replied, "kinda sad". And then told me he had tried not to think about it...that he gets that way sometimes about things. I'm assuming he meant sentimental. We got to uhaul, and he quickly got out...as I looked over, and told him, "take care".... and then told him that I had really enjoy it. Working for him, that is...and he smiled and said... "so have I". So...I watched him walk off...and I drove away. I'm sure before long, I'll be able to think about yesterday...saying good bye to Aaron, and Buddy...without it bringing tears to my eyes, like it is now. I enjoyed the job...it wasn't bad at all, but I can't really say that I'll miss it. What I am going to miss, are the friendships I made, with a young man, and his dog. Shoot...we go through Granite City, IL, all the time, on our way to Indiana...so I'm sure the next time we head that way, there just might be a possiblity, that we could stop in and say "Hello".

So, today, after working myself 1/2 to death last week, helping Aaron pack, I was so tired, and it was really great not to have to get up this morning...or at least, until I wanted. Lee woke me up about 8:30, and told me he was leaving for work, and I mumbled a few things...that I'd call him later, not to forget his cell, which he's done the past 2 days. Next thing I know, I woke up, looked at the clock, and it was 9:30. The bed did feel really good, but, I knew there were some things I needed to do, and some before noon, so I opted to get outta bed, so I could get started on my day. I poured some coffee...and drug myself upstairs to the puter, to see what had been going on while I was sleeping. I guess it was a little before 11, when I finally got myself up and going, so I could be at the bank before noon, which is just a couple blocks from our house. I ran to Goodwill, Kohls...Wal Mart, Grocery store, and then headed back home, getting here around 2. I never could find the underware for Lee at Kohls that I needed...in the size that is, so after them telling me last night, that they didn't even have any idea when they were going to get any in, or IF they were, I made the decision last night to exchange them for something diff. So...finally, since Christmas...more than a month, I finally got that done. Then I headed across the street to wal mart, to pick up a few things there I needed. I made a killin' at Goodwill. I found Lee a nice jogging suit(tomorrow is his birthday), and 5 beautiful shirts! Oh, and forgot I also made a stop at Macy's...and actually found the underware that Lee wanted, so got him some extra...since we never could get the others. Anyway...Lee loves that stuff from the 2nd hand shops. You can find sooooooooo much. All the shirts I found were namebrand...one was Hillfigger and now for the life of me can't remember the others. Chaps, might have been one. Anyway, I paid $18 for all the shirts, plus the jogging suit(2pc.). Any 1 of those items, would have been more than that!!!! The cheapest shirt I got, would have been $30 or so...I think it was Arrow. After I got home, I realize that there were a couple of things that I could have gotten at the store...some I didn't think about at the time, and some I wasn't aware we really needed, but it's nothing too desperate. Our best friend Cheri is going to be here this evening. She likes creamer in her coffee, and Lee uses milk. I wished I would have remember to pick some up. That way I'd always have it when she came to visit. I may just give Lee a call, and have him stop to pick some up on his way home. I don't wanna have to get out again.

So, once I got home, I needed to do a little bit of picking up, before Cheri got here. I had started a load of laundry before I left, so I did all that switching around, and started another, got my kitchen cleaned, and the living room vacumed, and a few clean clothes folded, hung-up, and put away. She should be here in about 2 1/2 hours. Whe was leaving around 3. She'll probably be here about an hour before Lee gets home. I had said something to Landon about coming over with the kids tonight, but I haven't heard from him yet. He did have to work. I may give Moriah a call in a bit, and see if they're going to come over. Whether they come or not, I think I'm just going to order pizzas for supper. Lee and Cheri are going to be working on their Team National tonight, or we'd go out. This will be quick, and they can hopefully get some work done.

Well, guess I'll head outta here, see if I can get ahold of Landon, and give Lee a call about the creamer. I hope you guys have a great evening coming up...or day, to some that will receive this. Take care..

Much love,
Lev

Patients

ROTFL
Are ya ready for a funny???

***********************************************
A nurse was on duty in the Emergency Room,
when a young woman with purple hair styled
into a punk rocker Mohawk, sporting a variety
of tattoos, and wearing strange clothing, entered.
It was quickly determined that the patient had
acute appendicitis, so she was scheduled for immediate
surgery. When she was completely disrobed on
the operating table, the staff noticed that "another area"
had been dyed green, and above it there was a
tattoo that read , "Keep off the grass." Once the surgery
was completed, the surgeon wrote a short note on the
patient's dressing, which said, "Sorry, had to mow the lawn."

As a new, young MD doing his residency in OB ,
I was quite embarrassed when performing female
pelvic exams. To cover my embarrassment I had
unconsciously formed a habit of whistling softly.
The middle-aged lady upon whom I was performing
this exam suddenly burst out laughing and further
embarrassing me. I looked up from my work and
sheepishly said, "I'm sorry Was I tickling you?"
She replied, "No doctor, but the song you were
whistling was, "I wish I was an Oscar Meyer Wiener"

Such a looooooong day at work...hehehehe

Well, hello everyone!

Here I am, back from my loooooooooong days work. lol I got to work about 4:30, and was out of there and back home by 6:30. I had mentioned that Moriah wanted to go to wally world, so when I finally found out what time Aaron was going to be back, I asked her if she'd want to go ahead and go to Wal Mart, and then right to work with me, and help a little since she was there, and then I'd probably get done a little earlier. I knew we were gonna have a ton of books to ship, and I was right. I got up this morning with my leg killin' me...I'm not sure why, unless it's just the cold weather, but it seemed to ache more than usual. Anyway, I was not relishing carring stack after stack of heavy books down the stairs, not with the way my leg was feeling. So, Moriah agreed to do that, although at one point while getting ready to carry down another stack, she mentioned that this was wearin' her out, and she should have stayed home. lol And I do this every day. lol I think we had about 10 stacks of books...I think it was, and prob. 7-8 books per stack...depending on how big, and heavy they were. Anyway, it definately helped me alot for her to do that. I had figured I'd be done around 6, and we did leave just about 15 after, but...if Moriah had not been there to help me, I wouldn't have gotten it done that fast by myself. I'm sure glad I thought to ask her to come along. Even if I did have to bribe her with wal mart.

After we left work, we just ran through Burger King, and grabbed us all a quick supper. lee was waiting at home for us, and we knew that would be fast. I didn't really wanna come home and start cooking, plus, I haven't got a whole lot here. lol

Welp...guess I'll take off. I know you guys are prob. sick of hearing from me. lol I won't say I "promise", to not bug ya the rest of the night...but, I'll give it my best shot!

Much love,
Lev

Goodmornin'

Goodmornin',

Just thought I'd drop in for a quick "HI". How is everyone doin' on this Monday morning?

I've got to work today, but as usual, on a Monday, Aaron isn't back from the city yet. He is to call me and let me know what time he'll be arriving back in town. How long I'll work today, I'm not sure. This is my last week of work, Aaron is moving on Saturday, so there is quite a bit to do. But, since we'll get started a little later than usual, I'm not sure what all we'll try to accomplish today. Maybe just shipping, and then hit it hard tomorrow, beginning the packing, and cleaning process for moving. He talked like he was going to try and be back before some rediculous hour, like 3, but who knows. It is already 11:30, and I haven't heard anything. But, I could very well get a call in a bit. I sorta guessed that maybe he was going to try and be back around noon, but, if that's the case, it's getting awful close to that time, with no word yet. I guess I need to go ahead and get dressed, so I'll be ready when he does call.

My leg is giving me fits thismorning. It feels like someone has beat it with a ball bat. I'm not sure what is causing that. I haven't been over working it by anymeans. But, the cold weather isn't the easiest on it, and definately puts it in that aching mood. guess that's to be expected with a 12" piece of steel in your thigh. lol

well, guess I'll head outta here and go get ready for work. Not that I'm jumpin' to run out the door by any means, but, I might as well prepare myself, that this will be a crazy week at work. I've enjoyed my job with Aaron, but I'll have to admit, that come Friday, my last day, it will feel pretty good know that I won't have to get out and go to work anymore. Hopefully, my data entry work will come through soon, and I'll be working from home myself. I got some of my resumes done yesterday, I don't have too many left to do, so I'll be getting them sent out in the next couple of days. Hopefully, I'll hear something back rather quickly. I'm gonna keep my fingers crossed for that anyway.

Well, I'm outta here...hope you all have a great Monday...as Monday's usually go, and a wonderful week coming up.

Take care,
Much love,
Lev

White all over!

Well, the snow has stopped, finally, but not without leaving us at least 4". It could have definately been worse. Our street is almost completely cleared, so I doubt that roads in town will be too bad, and I'm sure they've got the highway cleared pretty good too.

So...since we are apparently able to get out... we're gonna head for Landon's later on. He called and is making a big pot of spagetti for supper, so we'll go out there, do supper, probably watch some movies, and of course, bring Moriah back with us when we come. I'm sure she was hoping that this snow would cancel her school tomorrow, but I'm afraid she's outta luck! lol Of course, I keep reminding her, that for every snow day they get now, will be one more day they have to go before getting out in the spring. I guess this year, they're going to be going into June. Last year, they were out the last week of May.

So, other than going to Landon's later, I'm not doin' a darn thing. I didn't go to bed till about 4 am...which was prob. a rather silly thing to do, but I knew I didn't have to get up today, so I wasn't really too worried about it. Of course, with not going to bed till 4, I didn't get up till noon!!! And...probably wouldn't have woken up then, if Lee hadn't come in and assisted me...lol Since then, I've just been drinkin' my coffee, and tryin' to wake up, and putzin' on the puter. I was just about to wash my hair and roll it, but, since we're gonna go to Landon's I don't guess I'll do that. I don't know that I really wanna go out with my head in curlers. lol Of course, it wouldn't be the first time, although, I don't make a habit of it. Who knows, I may change my mind, and do it anyway, at some point before we leave. After all...we're just going to Landon's. It sure isn't the first time they've seen me in curlers. lol

Well, guess I'll head outta here. I'll be hangin' round the net for awhile, I'm sure, till we're ready to leave. Have a great day...and ttyl

Help with yahoo photos

I was hoping that someone might be able to help me a bit. I am somewhat embarrassed to say, that I have a little over 1,300 pictures in my yahoo photos. YIKES!!!! Here's my delima....alot of them are duplicates, as yahoo just adds everything to my photos, from emails, etc. Is there anyway to eliminate the duplicates, without having to go in and idividually delete them....I mean, is there somewhere in yahoo photos that will automatically eliminate all the duplicates. With 1300 + pictures, you can see why I sure don't want to have to go in and delete the duplicates, one at a time. That would take forever...not to mention a bit confusing...trying to remember which photos are duplicated, and in what folders. Anyway, if ANYONE knows an easier way of do this, other than one at a time...please let me know. There's no sense in looking at the same picture more than once, not to mention the space that it's taking up on my puter.

I'm looking forward to hearing from somebody that can help me! Thanks!

Love,
Lev

Howdy!

Howdy, everyone!

Well, I've been home from work about 30 mins. It wasn't too totally crazy today at work, although it could have been....but I opted to stop before it got that way, lol and just call it quits for the day. Next week is my last week, and there are going to be lots of things to get done. I can tell Aaron is trying to get me started on things, thinking there's so much to do, and hoping it will all get done. He started mentioning it last week, about all the cleaning stuff that would have to be done. But there is so much that won't be able to be done, until alot of stuff is out of there, or at least out of the way, and none of that will be happening while I'm there. Plus, some of the things he wanted started on, I reminded him that in another 2 weeks, it would have to be done over again....which I sure don't want to have to do more than once. But, I'm sure it will all get done. He told me that I could stay today, and get started on some things, but like I said, I didn't want the day to get totally crazy, and end up there till some rediculous hour. He's leaving for St. Louis sometime today, but he didn't say when, so there's a possibility that I wouldn't have had to stay much longer anyway. So, that also means I won't work tomorrow. I just figured I'd call it quits for today...have the extra day off tomorrow, and just start bustin' butt on Monday. Lots of times he's not back till afternoon on Monday, but he did say today that he'd try to get back earlier, so we can get the shipping over with. Then it will be packin' and cleanin'. That's the way it will be Monday-Friday of next week. Shipping....packin'/cleanin'....shippin'....packin'/cleanin'. lol My paycheck next week should be RATHER nice!!! I did find out today, that he is going to try and ship on Friday, even though he has people showing up Friday night, to help him move on Sat. If it were me, I'd make Thurs. my last shipping date, and spend all day Fri. getting things put into boxes, cleaning, etc., which is what he told me he wanted to do...was have most of the stuff in boxes, in the garage, by Friday. If we could just devote one full day to boxing, and cleaning, rather than having to ship too, we could get quite a bit done in just that one day. Oh well. So anyway, I did do a little packing up today, after we finished shipping...a few CD's. I only stayed about 30 mins. longer. I'm just going to have to pysch myself up for next week, and be prepared to buckle down. Just depending on how much I can get done Mon-Thurs., there's a possibility that I could talk him into not shipping on Friday...maybe convincing him that with both of us working all day Friday, we could about have everything ready like he wants, by the time his friends get there. I guess we'll just have to see how it goes.

Well, I had to stop at the post office today with a package, after work, so while I was there, I went ahead and got the stamps that I need to get my resumes mailed off. This is the first time this week I've had to go to the PO, or I would have gotten them before now. For some reason, I can't get my printer to print my envelopes, so I guess I'm going to have to hand address them. I know that doesn't look very professional, but...so sometime this weekend, I'll get all the resumes signed, the envelopes address, and get them sent off. Hopefully, it's not going to take long to hear back from some of them. I'm sending off 20, so surely....out of that many! Everyone say a little prayer, that one of these comes through for me quickly!

Moriah got home about 1/2 hr. ago, and then not long after that I heard the door open again. I thought she had let the cat out...or in. But, pretty soon, I thought heard Landon's voice, and before long, he came up here to the puter room....where I am. He dropped by after just getting off work. He'll probably have to take off in a bit, I'm sure Amanda needs to be at work by 5.

Well, we had a ball last night for the kids birthdays...Kenny and Gabriel. Gabriel turned 5 on Monday the 15th, and Kenny will be 8 on Sunday the 21st. So...we picked mid-week to take them to Bonkers, to play, and for pizza. They had a ball, and naturally, didn't want to leave. But...they were getting ready to close, so there wasn't much to discuss. Everyone came over to our house after that, and we had birthday cake, and opened presents. It was a very fun evening, and we all had a ton of fun...despite the snow, that tried at first, to dampen our spirits. But...we just didn't let it!

I don't guess I've got anything special I need to do tomorrow...not that I can think of anyway. There's lots of things I'd like to do, ...like hit the salvation army, and the goodwill...but, I don't guess I really need to spend the money. I may get back out here in just a bit, and grab a couple of things from the grocery store that I need. That also may insure that I won't have to get out tomorrow. I don't really wanna do it now, but...might as well get it over with. Then...if I do get out tomorrow, maybe it will just be because I want to.

Well, I'm gonna head outta here, and go hit the store. Hopefully, I should be back within 1/2 hr. or so. The store is only about 5 mins. away. Then, I'll be able to just cuddle in for the evening....that will be nice!

Talk to you all soon......

Much love,
Lev

Headed to work after all

Well, it looks like I'm going to go in to work after all. Aaron called about an hour ago, and is going to be back in town around 3. I asked him how long he was wanting to work...if he was planning on make it a 7:00 night. He didn't seem to think we'd have that much, that it would take that long....I'm not sure what gave him that idea... we haven't done any shipping since Fri. So...I told him I really did not want to work that late, and that 3:00 would be okay, and that I wouldn't mind working for a couple of hours. He always says if I "need" to leave I can. I hate when he uses the word "need". It's not that I "need" to leave, it's that I want to leave, and don't want to be working that late. For the hours I was hired to work, my day should be done by 3, not just beginning.

I sometimes feel a little bad about not going in on days, after all, he is my boss. But, I am also working as a "freelancer". I guess it's not what you'd call the "norm" when it comes to jobs/bosses/employees. In the almost yr. that I've been working for him, I couldn't tell you the amount of times that I have worked longer, than my designated 4 hours per day. I am one to realize that there are times when you have to work longer, and harder than you normally would...depending on circumstances. And these aren't normal circumstances...not with him getting ready to move, and making arrangements for that. I understand that, completely. I guess what I can't always understand, is why I have to try and work around his schedule, rather than him being available during the hours he knows I am willing, or hired to work. It he really wanted to do some shipping today, then he should have been back earlier. If he knew he wasn't going to be able to be back in time...then he should just scrap today, and start tomorrow.

There will be no way we'll finish shipping today...I'm almost positive of that. But, at least, maybe, I'll get a good headstart on it for tomorrow, and that might save me from having to drag a bunch of packages to the PO tomorrow, since I should be able to catch our carrier before he comes around. I do think I might say something to him tomorrow about coming in a little earlier, to help guarentee that I can catch the postman. Of course, that might depend on what I find when I get there. If something happens that there isn't that much, coming in earlier tomorrow, may not even be needed.

Well...the neighbors had to help push me out of the parking space, in front of my house. The plows had piled chunks of ice up around the car, and I didn't ever think we'd get it out. I've poured close to 10 gals. of warm water on my windshield, trying to get the ice off. It is a little better. When we finally got the car unstuck, I was able to back it into the driveway, so the sun would hit it. I'm hoping that it will be cleared off by the time I have to leave. I've got to do a couple of things, pay my insurance, and before I take off, I'm gonna stop at the car wash...just a couple of blocks from here, and use the power washer on my car. That should get rid of the ice. If not...I won't be able to see a thing. With no defrost...my car will need to be completely cleared off, or I'll never be able to keep the windshield cleared.

Well...just thought I'd drop ya'll another quick line, while waiting to go to work. Guess I'll head outta here, since I need to leave in about 30 mins. or so, to allow myself time. Even if I'm at work right at 3, it will take Aaron awhile to get the list of orders together...so I prob. won't show up till a little after 3. maybe that way, I can walk in, get the list, and get right to work...instead of having to wait around for him to get that done. I believe if it were my business, even if I didn't ship on the weekends, I think I'd print my orders out on a daily basis, so that they'd be ready first thing to mail out the beginning of the week. There's alot of stuff I'd do differently, were it mine, that I'm sure would make it run much smoother. But...then again...it's not my business.

Have a good one...talk to ya'll later on!

Much love,
Lev

Hello Everyone!

It is soooooooo good to see the sun again! It is shinning brightly today, glistening off the ice and snow that we, unfortunately, still have plenty of. It is a whoppin' 6 degrees right now...and the windchill is -6. It is bitter, bitter cold outside. The high today is suppose to hit 20. WOW...lol ...then dip back down to about 10 tonight. At least we're expecting sun for the next several days, even though the temps won't rise very high. At least after today, we will stay above the freezing mark, for the rest of the week...supposidly reaching 40 by Saturday. Let's hope, anyway.

I'm not sure if I'm going in to work or not today. Aaron was originally suppose to be back so we could work today, then at the last minute, his plans were changed, and he maybe will be staying in the city a little longer...checking out a place to rent. He said he'd call when he was headed back and knew better what time he'd be here. You know me....I hate this not going in till 2-3 in the afternoon...it makes for such a late day. With him trying to get moved in a couple of weeks, and having to use his weekends to get some of the stuff done, I think he needs to realize, that he may not be able to ship as he usually does, over the next couple of weeks, in order to get done what he needs before moving. So...I guess it just depends what time he calls, as to whether I'll end up going in or not. If it's too late, I'm sure gonna see what I can do about just making it tomorrow.

I would just as soon not have to get out at all today...but, even if I don't go to work, I have to get out sometime before 5, and run downtown to pay our car insurance. I wish I'd thought to give Lee the checkbook, and he could have done it. Although, now that I think about it, I could just send him across the street to our bank, and have him get the cash, and pay it sometime before 5. He is only 2 blocks from their office...and could easily run there in no time. I may do that when it gets closer to his lunch time, and he can maybe get it done then. It would sure save me having to get out....especially if I don't have to go to work. Plus...Lee took the cady...and I'm stuck with the dodge, which has no heat, or defrost...and whether or not I am even going to be able to get the window cleared off to see....is another question. I did get some water pour on it...and a small whole, barely big enough to see out of started, but there's places on our windshield, where the ice is at least 3 inches thick...from where it's run down the windshield....the thickest part being down by the wipers. It's just a mess!!!

So... in a couple of weeks, I'm gonna be without a job! I finally, this weekend, got all my resumes typed up to get sent off for the data entry work I'm wanting to do from home. They say it usually takes a couple of weeks to hear back from these companies, for this type of work that they hire out. So, I'm hoping that about the time my job here is over, I'll be hearing back from some of them on the data entry. This is something that I've been wanting to look into for sometime now, and finally sent off for the info. on it, last year. Then, the job with Aaron came around, and the data entry sorta got put on hold. I was even considering, at one point...about the time I started with Aaron, to try and do both, but, since the job with Aaron was doing pretty good,...I just didn't do anything with it. So...now is the time! I need a job, and I sure DON'T want to have to be out beating the streets, in the next couple of weeks, job hunting!!! I would much rather be working from my home, and hopefully, if all works out well, could be making double in just a few hours, what it took me a week to do out working!!! Yeah...it probably sounds too good to be true...but, you never know. It is a situation that is definately on my back....and I alone can make it or break it. I've always said it would be neat to work from your home, but I am having to push my mind a bit...and am trying to tell myself, that I'm going to have to be diciplined enough, to work on my own....since there is NO ONE telling me what time, or when I have to work. So...I'll probably just set up so many hours a day,...just like it was a work schedule. I guess I just won't know until I have heard from the companies, and see exactly what is entailed in their work. Talking with the people who are aquainted with this type of work, I have been told, that 20 hours of work, can be done in about 8 hours....IF... you can type "X" amount of works per min. I don't remember exactly what it was, but I definately fit in that range, and can do pretty good about punching it out when I really get into it. I'm not a speed typist, by any means, but I can put out about 55-65 wpm...So...it's a possibility, that I may just make myself set aside one full day....and get it all done in a day, and have the rest of the week to not worry about it. Anyway, I'm really anxious to get them sent off, and get back what info. I can, and hopefully, get going on this as soon as possible.

Landon stopped by for a bit this morning, before going to work. We went out to his house last night for about 3 hrs. or so, since we had to get Moriah. We watched some TV...ordered some pizza's, and then headed back home a little after 7. We really didn't want to be out after dark, and wanted to get home before the roads got worse. It snowed all day yesterday, and we weren't really sure what we were in for. So...figured it best to get home, and not dally at Landon's, just incase it were to get bad. Amanda has tonight, and tomorrow night off, so tomorrow night, we are going to meet them at Bonker's.... a place similar to Chuck E. Cheese...for those who know who he is...lol Bonker's in new to Columbia, and as I mentioned, yesterday was Gabriel's BD, and Kenny's in Sunday....so Nannie and Papa said that we'd take them to Bonker's for their BD....that's where they wanna go! lol We'll meet them sometime after 7....which is when Lee gets off. Gabriel is now 5...and Kenny will be 8. Then...the following Sunday...the 28th....is Lee's BD....he'll be a big 5 2! So...for a few months...until May 23, anyway...he'll only be 1 yr. younger than me. lol

Well...guess I'll head outta here. Hope you guys have a great day, and a good week coming up. I'm sure I'll be back in touch in a couple of days, or so.

Have a good one!

Much love,
Lev

Interesting facts on bananas

Subject: Bananas
This is interesting. After reading this, you'll never look at a banana in the same way again.

Never put bananas in the refrigerator!!!

Bananas contain three natural sugars - sucrose, fructose and glucose, combined with fiber. A banana gives an instant, sustained and substantial boost of energy. Research has proven that just two bananas provide enough energy for a strenuous 90-minute workout. No wonder the banana is the number one fruit with the world's leading athletes.

But energy isn't the only way a banana can help us keep fit. It can also help overcome or prevent a substantial number of illnesses and conditions, making it a must to add to our daily diet.

Depression: According to a recent survey undertaken by MIND, amongst people suffering from depression, many felt much better after eating a banana. This is because bananas contain tryptophan, a type of protein that the body converts into serotonin, known to make you relax, improve your mood and generally make you feel happier.

PMS: Forget the pills - eat a banana. The vitamin B6 it contains regulates blood glucose levels, which can affect your mood.

Anemia: High in iron, bananas can stimulate the production of hemoglobin in the blood and so helps in cases of anemia.

Blood Pressure: This unique tropical fruit is extremely high in potassium yet low in salt, making it perfect to beat high blood pressure. So much so, the Food and Drug Administration has just allowed the banana industry to make official claims for the fruit's ability to reduce the risk of high blood pressure and stroke.

Brain Power: 200 students at a Twickenham (Middlesex, Eng.) school were helped through their exams this year by eating bananas at breakfast, break, and lunch in a bid to boost their brain power. Research has shown that the potassium-packed fruit can assist learning by making pupils more alert.

Constipation: High in fiber, including bananas in the diet can help restore normal bowel action, helping to overcome the problem without resorting to laxatives.

Hangovers: One of the quickest ways of curing a hangover is to make a banana milkshake, sweetened with honey. The banana calms the stomach and, with the help of the honey, builds up depleted blood sugar levels, while the milk soothes and re-hydrates your system.

Heartburn: Bananas have a natural antacid effect in the body, so if you suffer from heartburn, try eating a banana for soothing relief.

Hemorrhoids: Stick an un-peeled banana up yer butt and leave there until it disolves, You'll walk funny a few days butt you will forget all about yer hemorrhoids.

Morning Sickness: Snacking on bananas between meals helps to keep blood sugar levels up and avoid morning sickness.

Mosquito bites: Before reaching for the insect bite cream, try rubbing the affected area with the inside of a banana skin. Many people find it amazingly successful at reducing swelling and irritation.

Nerves: Bananas are high in B vitamins that help calm the nervous system.

Overweight? Studies at the Institute of Psychology in Austria found pressure at work leads to gorging on comfort food like chocolate and crisps. Looking at 5,000 hospital patients, researchers found the most obese were more likely to be in high-pressure jobs. The report concluded that, to avoid panic-induced food cravings, we need to control our blood sugar levels by snacking on high carbohydrate foods every two hours to keep levels steady.

Ulcers: The banana is used as the dietary food against intestinal disorders because of its soft texture and smoothness It is the only raw fruit that can be eaten without distress in over-chronicler cases. It also neutralizes over-acidity and reduces irritation by coating the lining of the stomach.

Temperature control: Many other cultures see bananas as a "cooling" fruit that can lower both the physical and emotional temperature of expectant mothers. In Thailand, for example, pregnant women eat bananas to ensure their baby is born with a cool temperature.

Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD): Bananas can help SAD sufferers because they contain the natural mood enhancer tryptophan.

Smoking: Bananas can also help people trying to give up smoking. The B6, B12 they contain, as well as the potassium and magnesium found in them, help the body recover from the effects of nicotine withdrawal.

Stress: Potassium is a vital mineral, which helps normalize the heartbeat, sends oxygen to the brain and regulates your body's water balance. When we are stressed, our metabolic rate rises, thereby reducing our potassium levels. These can be rebalanced with the help of a high-potassium banana snack.

Strokes: According to research in "The New England Journal of Medicine, "eating bananas as part of a regular diet can cut the risk of death by strokes by as much as 40%!

Warts: Those keen on natural alternatives swear that if you want to kill off a wart, take a piece of banana skin and place it on the wart, with the yellow side out. Carefully hold the skin in place with a plaster or surgical tape!

So, a banana really is a natural remedy for many ills. When you compare it to an apple, it has four times the protein, twice the carbohydrate, three times the phosphorus, five times the vitamin A and iron, and twice the other vitamins and minerals. It is also rich in potassium and is one of the best value foods around. So maybe its time to change that well-known phrase so that we say, "A banana a day keeps the doctor away!"

Want a quick shine on our shoes?? Take the INSIDE of the banana skin, and rub directly on the shoe...polish with dry cloth.

Amazing fruit, hunh?

New music on the homepage

I've added a new song to my page. I wish I could figure out how to make it "auto play", but I can't. So scroll to the bottom of the page, to play the video.

This has long been a favorite movie of mine, and mostly because of this song. I always thought it was so beautiful. Then, in 1980, when we found out I was pregnant, and started picking out names, I was thrilled when my husband told me the name he wanted, if we had a girl. Moriah. In may of 1981, I gave birth...to a boy, and that beautiful name was put to the back of our minds. Then...quite surprisingly, 9 years later, we have a bit of a surprise. A new baby on the way. Once it came time to find out the gender...we wanted no more surprises, and were delighted to find out, it was going to be a girl. So...Moriah Lorinda was born in Feb. of 1990.

Her Grandfather, who knew this song well, and loved it, gave her the nickname, "Windy".
I loved this song so much that I would sing it to her as a babe in arms...or while lying in her crib, and she would always close her eyes, and fall peacefully asleep. Hope you enjoy it.

MAKIN' PANCAKES

6 year old Brandon decided one Saturday morning to fix his parents pancakes He found a big bowl and spoon, pulled a chair to the counter, opened the cupboard and pulled out the heavy flour canister, spilling it on the floor. He scooped some of the flour into the bowl with his hands, mixed in most of a cup of milk and added some sugar, leaving a floury trail on the floor which by now had a few tracks left by his kitten. Brandon was covered with flour and getting frustrated. He wanted this to be something very good for Mom and Dad, but it was getting very bad. He didn't know what to do next, whether to put it all into the oven or on the stove and he didn't know how the stove worked!. Suddenly he saw his kitten licking from the bowl of mix and reached to push her away, knocking the egg carton to the floor. Frantically he tried to clean up this monumental mess but slipped on the eggs, getting his pajamas white and sticky. And just then he saw Dad standing at the door. Big crocodile tears welled up in Brandon 's eyes. All he'd wanted to do was something good, but he'd made a terrible mess. He was sure a scolding was coming, maybe even a spanking. But his father just watched him. Then, walking through the mess, he picked up his crying son, hugged him and loved him, getting his own pajamas white and sticky in the process! That's how God deals with us.. We try to do something good in life, but it turns into a mess. Our marriage gets all sticky or we insult a friend, or we can't stand our job, or our health goes sour.Sometimes we just stand there in tears because we can't think of anything else to do. That's when God picks us up and loves us and forgives us, even though some of our mess gets all over Him. But just because we might mess up, we can't stop trying to "make pancakes" for God or for others. Sooner or later we'll get it right, and then they'll be glad we tried... I was thinking. and I wondered if I had any wounds needing to be healed, friendships that need rekindling or three words needing to be said, sometimes, "I love you" can heal & bless! Remind every one of your friends that you love them. Even if you think they don't love back, you would be amazed at what those three little words, a smile, and a reminder like this can do. Just in case I haven't told you lately... I LOVE YA!!!Please pass some of this love on to others......Send this to everyone you love, And never stop "making pancakes."

Elvis Presley's Birthday (sorry, a day late) Jan 8

I was wanting to get this out yesterday, and came home to the puter, digging and trying to find what I was looking for, but never had any luck. I guess I was just searching the wrong way. lol

Below you'll find a the link to the radio station that I have on in my car.....99.9% of the time...unless I'm out of state. lol It's an oldies radio, which is my favorite. Yesterday they reminded listeners, that it was Elvis's birthday, and he would have been 72. They were talking about going to the website...typing in the key work "Elvis", and you'd be able to view a picture/drawing, of what experts say Elvis would have looked like, had he still been alive today. I wish I could have found it yesterday, and could have posted it then, but, I suppose better late than never. So...if you really wanna see what he might have looked like at age 72...click the link below. I'm not really sure what I expected to see, but, it is quite obvious that Elivs' life style, would have taken it's toll.

IS MONDAY OVER YET!!! LOL

Yeah....that's exactly the way I felt when I FINALLY got home tonight at about 7:45. With Aaron out of town this weekend, and not getting back till this afternoon, it was about 2:30 before I got to work. I do believe, although I didn't ask, that we did almost, if not as much as we did over the Christmas weekend, when things were so crazy. Except...this time, I wasn't able to set it out on the porch for the postman, I had to cart it all to the postoffice, at 7:00! My car was packed full...the lady at the postoffice, couldn't believe it when she saw what I had in my car. I normally unload all the pkgs. and boxes at the back door, then go inside, with all my international mailings, but it was right at 7 when I got to the post office, and they close at 7, so I wasn't going to unload all that, if they were already locked up. So, I just grabbed the one box I had of international mailings...18 of them, and ran inside. Believe it or not, they hadn't locked the doors yet, although we joked that if they'd have know what I had, they'd would have had the doors locked, which was exactly what I was hoping when I got there....but...that wasn't the case. She got done inside with me at about 7:20, then we both went out to the car, and unloaded it, and loaded directly into the mail truck. As aggrivated as I was about having to stay that late, not to mention I was running by butt off to get there at the time I did, and was exhausted, several times on the way home, I did think to myself, ....well, at least I don't have to deal with it tomorrow. Maybe tomorrow we'll be somewhat back to normal...if that's possible. lol

I had a great weekend. I added an extra day, when I found out Thurs. night, that we weren't going to work Friday, so it was nice to have an extra day stuck in there. For the life of me now, I can't remember what i did on Friday. lol I think I went to the grocery store...unless that was Thurs. night. lol We were up VERY early Saturday morning...about 5. We went to Kansas City...actually, Shawnee Mission, Ks, to a Team National 2007 kick-off. We met our good friends, Cheri and Richard there, and enjoyed spending time with them. After the meeting, we had a nice lunch and visited, and headed home around 5. We didn't get out of as soon as we should have. When we got to the car, and Lee unlocked it..none of the electric locks would work...and it then dawned on us...we had left our lights on. The battery was deader than a doornail! Not so much as even a click, click, click, when you turned the key...just silent. We flagged down Richard who was just pulling out of the parking lot...so sure he'd have jumper cables...but he didn't. So he ran to the hotel where we had been to see if maintanance by chance had some, but...due to insurance, they can't loan them out. GIVE ME A BREAK! So...we piled into Cheri and Richard's van, and headed to wal-mart, where we were just going to buy another set of jumper cables. Richard wouldn't let Lee buy them...said he'd been meaning to by a set for the van for a looooooong time...so now he's got a set. Back to the hotel...jump the car...and say our good-byes again, and Lee and I were on the road headed back home. We got here a little after 7:30. After the early rise that morning, and about 5 hours on the road, it felt good to be home, and even better to realize that the next morning, we didn't have to get up ....till we felt like it.

We slep in...drank some coffee, then started the mess of taking down christmas decorations, which we knew was gonna be an all day affair. We got all the inside dec. down...garland, all my santa's, angels, nativities, candels...about 4 totes full. It was on into the evening before we finally finished that. We decided to make the tree a project for today. I had alot of christmas decorations I wanted to go through, we got alot of them from Lee's mom, and there were several that I knew we didn't want. so, last night, after Landon, and the kids got here to bring moriah home, we had pizza, and then I was able to just sit on the floor, and go through the rest of the ornaments, to see which ones I wanted to keep, and which ones to get rid of. I have a box, a full bag, and a wal mart bag, full of ornaments, that I'm going to drop off at Salvation Army, probably. They're closer to where I am than Goodwill...they're out on the south part of town, and I don't get that way too often.

Today, we were able to sleep in again...Lee has monday's off. We drank some coffee, and while we were drinkin' coffee, watching tv, and waking up, I set down on the floor and started taking ornaments off the tree and wrapping them. By the time I had to leave for work, we had all the ornaments off...except about 1 ft. from the top, which Lee couldn't reach without a stool. So, I left the rest of the ornaments, wooken beads, lights, and tree, for Lee to finish, while I was at work. Well..... the few ornaments are up...the beads and lights are off...and my tree...which is still standing...is topless! That's all the farther Lee got. So...how long 1/2 a tree will be sitting in my living room...I have no idea! lol It may be the end of Jan. before I ever get all my Christmas dec. up....at the rate I'm going! lol

Well, guess I'll head outta here...after writing an epic...again! lol I have a way of doing that.

Hope you all had a great Monday...as Monday's go, and hope the rest of your week, is FABULOUS!

Much love
Lev

Various logical notes

Now that food has replaced sex in my life, I can't even get into my own pants.

Marriage changes passion. Suddenly you're in bed with a relative.

I saw a woman wearing a sweat shirt with "Guess" on it. So I said "Implants?" She hit me.

How come we choose from just two people to run for president and over fifty for Miss America ?

A good friend will come and bail you out of jail...but, a true friend will be sitting next to you saying, "Wow...that was fun!"

I signed up for an exercise class and was told to wear loose-fitting clothing. If I HAD any loose-fitting clothing, I wouldn't have signed up in the first place!

When I was young we used to go "skinny dipping," now I just "chunky dunk."

Don't argue with an idiot; people watching may not be able to tell the difference.

Wouldn't it be nice if whenever we messed up our life we could simply press 'Ctrl Alt Delete' and start all over? AMEN, AMEN!!

Why is it that our children can't read a Bible in school, but they can in prison?

Wouldn't you know it ... Brain cells come and brain cells go, but FAT cells live forever and reproduce when only half full.

Why do I have to swear on the Bible in court when the Ten Commandments cannot be displayed outside?

Bumper sticker of the year: "If you can read this, thank a teacher, and since it's in English, thank a soldier."

And remember: life is like a roll of toilet paper. The closer it gets to the end, the faster it goes.

Good Evening

Well, I've put on a pot of potato soup, and it's cookin', for supper. Lee will be here in about an hour. It has been nasty and rainy here all day, and not very warm...and from the time I got up this morning, a big pot of warm potato soup, sounded good for supper. Not to mention, it's quick.

Lee has been sick, and really felt like yuck last weekend, and missed a day of work. Now, I think he's given it to me. I"ve been feeling like warmed-over death the past couple of days. Then, with the holidays, it was total chaos yesterday.....that's another story. Today wasn't quite as bad, but I really didn't reel like draggin' myself out this morning, in the cold and damp, but knew I had to, regardless of how crappy I felt. I just kept telling myself, that maybe today wouldn't be too bad, and I could be home at a decent hour. So....slowly, I make myself get up from this puter, where I'm enjoying my morning coffee, and drug myself downstairs to get dressed. I finally got it together, and headed out the door, braving the wind and rain. Wet, I start searching through my purse for keys. NO keys. Oh...t hat's right, Landon moved my car last night, so he probably just laid them on the table. So, in I run, to the table...NO keys. So, I start looking other places...the seats, the bedroom, upstairs on the puter desk, and I can't find my keys ANYWHERE! Oh, boy...this is great. I bet Landon has stuck them in his pocket and taken them home with him, and here I am....stuck. So, I did through my purse again, and all though the house. Finally, just as I was walking past our Christmas tree...I looked down, and there they were, on the floor, towards the back, between the tree and the recliner. It's a wonder I'd ever seen them back there. I have a feeling they got laid on the arm rest of the recliner, and then fell off onto the floor. I will have to admit, that all this time I was looking for my keys, I was telling myself, that it would be nice, not to have to get out in this weather. But...alas....what can I say. I had to go to work. It wasn't bad at all, and I was done around 2.

I had a couple of things to do...pay the rent, etc., and was about to hit Kohls to exchange some underware lee got for christmas..., and about the time I was pulling into the parking space, my cell rang, and it was my boss. He had decided to leave town today, instead of tomorrow, and wanted to know where he could meet me, so he could give me my paycheck...which I needed, and couldn't wait till Monday. So, we made arrangements on where to meet, and I just put the car in reverse, and pulled right back out of the parking space. I knew I wouldn't have enough time to get the exchange made, and meet him in time, so it was no biggie. That was a nice added bonus...not having to work tomorrow, so I can go exchange underware then. lol

I'm so excited....I talked to Kirk today, and Eva has been doing some standing up and holding it, for a while. I know I've told most of you that she has been diagnoised with juvinile arthritis in her knees, and it was affecting her being able to stand up and lock her knees into place, and also some problems with the tendons. Tara-Lee had the same problems as a child. But, she has been wearing some braces that go around the knees, while she sleeps, and it's helping strenghten the tendons in the backs of the knees. It won't be long now before she'll be runnin' all over the house.

I'm not really sure what else I have to do tomorrow, besides exchange underware...lol. I don't really have to do that tomorrow. I really need to stay at home and work on laundry. It's been piling up, and I got a pretty good start on it last weekend, but never got it all put away, so now I have dirty that I didn't get to last week, clean that isn't put away, and dirty that's accumlated since then. lol It's a vicious cycle...lol I don't know if I can ever say that ALL my laundry was ALL clean and put away, ALL at the same time. lol If it's even close to it, I can't get lots of my drawers shut. lol Guess that means I need to get rid of some of it. lol Which I have been weedin' some of it out. My next weedout, I think, is sweatshirts. I have several that I don't wear. I'll pack um up, and take them to Salvation Army, probably... of course, while I'm there, I'll have to look....afterall...I need to replace what I brought in...lol
I saw the best sign when we were in Indiana this summer, and we always go to the Goodwill store when we're there, and they have a big sign on the wall, up front by the registers that say...

"It's a vicious cycle. Donate. Shop. Donate. Shop. Donate

Well, I will admit, I do that. I sure don't see a thing wrong with recycling! lol

It's almost 7, and Lee will probably be here in a 1/2hr. or so. Maybe before. He's usually not anylater than then. They're not working any extended hours, now with the holidays over, and he is sure glad about that. He had some 15 hr. days. 2 days work into one. He was dead! I suppose I'll head outta here. I'll be around later after we eat, to check up and see what everyone's been doin' on here. Until then..........

Much love,
Lev

Proof the the world is nuts!
