Husband Shopping

A store that sells husbands has just opened in New York City, where a woman may go to choose a husband. Among the instructions at the entrance is a description of how the store operates. You may visit the store ONLY ONCE!
There are six floors and the attributes of the men increase as the shopper ascends the flights. There is, however, a catch....you may choose any man from a particular floor, or you may choose to go up a floor, but you cannot go back down except to exit the building! So, a woman goes to the HUSBAND STORE to find a husband...

On the first floor the sign reads:
Floor 1 - These men have jobs and love the Lord.
The second floor sign reads:
Floor 2 - These men have jobs, love the Lord, and love kids.

The third floor sign reads:
Floor 3 - These men have jobs, love the Lord, love kids, and are extremely good looking.

"WOW", she thinks but feels compelled to keep going.

She goes to the fourth floor and the sign reads:
Floor 4 - These men have jobs, love the Lord, love kids, are drop-dead good looking, and help with the housework.

"Oh mercy me!" she exclaims, "I can hardly stand it!"
Still, she goesto the fifth floor and the sign reads:
Floor 5 - These men have jobs, love the Lord, love kids, are drop-dead gorgeous, help with the housework, and have a romantic streak.

She is so tempted to stay, but she goes to the sixth floor and the sign reads:

Floor 6 - You are visitor 4,363,012 to this floor. There are no men on this floor. This floor exists only as proof that women are impossible to please.

Thank you for shopping at the HUSBAND STORE!
Watch your step as you exit the building, and have a nice day!

Drivers Permit

A young boy had just gotten his driver's permit and inquired of his father,an evangelist, if they could discuss his use of the car. Hisfather said "I'll make a deal with you. You bring your grades up from a Cto a B average, study your Bible a little, get your hair cut and we'll talkabout the car."
Well, the boy thought about that for a moment, and decided that he'd settle for the offer, and they agreed on it. After about six weeks they went in to the study, where his father said, "Son, I've been real proud. You brought your grades up, and I've observed that you have beenstudying your Bible, and participating a lot more in the Bible study groups. But, I'm real disappointed, since you haven't gotten your hair cut."
The young man paused a moment, and then said, "You know, Dad, I'vebeen thinking about that, and I've noticed in my studies of the Biblethat Samson had long hair, John the Baptist had long hair, Moses had long hairand there's even a strong argument that Jesus had long hair."To this his father replied, "Did you also notice that they allwalked everywhere they went?"

Something New

Just wanted to let you know, there's been a bit of a change to my music page....hope you enjoy

MUSIC, MUSIC, MUSIC

The Little Boy

Oh boy...this is just TOO cute! Leave it to kids!

Have you heard about 4-year-old Sammy who was asked to return thanks before Sunday dinner? The family members bowed their heads in expectation, and he began his prayer:"Thank you God for all my friends: Joey, an' Susan, an' Billy, an' Tommy," and on and on he went, naming each friend one by one.Next he thanked God for Mommy, Daddy, brother, sister, Grandma, Grandpa, and all his aunts and uncles. Finally he got to the food."Thank you God for the turkey, an' the dressing, an' the fruit salad, an' the pies, an' the Cool Whip..."And then he paused. The pause was almost deafening, and all eyes were focused on young Sammy with his head still bowed in prayer. Finally (almost when Father was about to interject an "Amen"), Sammy looked up at his mother and asked, "If I thank God for the broccoli, won't he know that I'm lying?"

Skinny dippin'

An elderly man in Northern Mississippi had owned a large farm for several years. He had a large pond in the back, fixed up nice; picnic tables, horseshoe courts, and some apple and peach trees. The pond was properly shaped and fixed up for swimming when it was built.

One evening the old farmer decided to go down to the pond, as he hadn't been there for a while, and look it over. He grabbed a five gallon bucket to bring back some fruit. As he neared the pond, he heard voices shouting and laughing with glee.

As he came closer he saw it was a bunch of young women skinny-dipping in his pond. He made the women aware of his presence and they all went to the deep end. One of the women shouted to him, "We're not coming out until you leave!"

The old man frowned, "I didn't come down here to watch you ladies swim naked or make you get out of the pond naked." Holding the bucket up, he said, "I'm here to feed the alligator."

Moral: Old men can still think fast.

Granny Tricks

Subject: Granny tricks How many of these did you know about?

A sealed envelope - Put in the freezer for a few hours, then slide
a knife under the flap. The envelope can then be resealed.
(hmmmmmm...)

Use Empty toilet paper roll to store appliance cords. It keeps
them neat and you can write on the roll what appliance it belongs to.

For icy door steps in freezing temperatures: get warm water and
put Dawn dishwashing liquid in it. Pour it all over the steps. They
won't refreeze. (wish I had known this for the last 40 years!)

To remove old wax from a glass candleholder, put it in the freezer
for a few hours. Then take the candleholder out and turn it upside
down.The wax will fall out.

Crayon marks on walls? This worked wonderfully! A damp rag,
dipped in baking soda. Comes off with little effort
(elbow grease that is!).

Permanent marker on appliances/counter tops (like store receipt
BLUE!)rubbing alcohol on paper towel.

Whenever I purchase a box of S.O.S Pads, I immediately take a
pair of scissors and cut each pad into halves. After years of having
to throw away rusted and unused and smelly pads, I finally decided
that this would be much more economical. Now a box of S.O.S
pads last me indefinitely! In fact, I have noticed that the scissors
get sharpened this way!

Blood stains on clothes? Not to worry! Just pour a little
hydrogenperoxide on a cloth and proceed to wipe off every
drop of blood. Works every time! Now, where to put the body?
LOL

Use vertical strokes when washing windows outside and
horizontal for inside windows. This way you can tell which
side has the streaks. Straight vinegar will get outside windows
really clean.Don't wash windows on a sunny day. They will
dry too quickly and will probably streak.

Spray a bit of perfume on the light bulb in any room to create
a lovely light scent in each room when the light is turned on.

Place fabric softener sheets in dresser drawers and your
clothes will smell freshly washed for weeks to come. You
can also do this with towels and linen.

Candles will last a lot longer if placed in the freezer for at
least 3 hours prior to burning.

To clean artificial flowers, pour some salt into a paper bag and
add the flowers. Shake vigorously as the salt will absorb all
the dust and dirt and leave your artificial flowers looking
like new! Works like a charm!

To easily remove burnt on food from your skillet, simply add
a drop or two of dish soap and enough water to cover bottom
of pan, and bring to a boil on stove top.

Spray your TUPPERWARE with nonstick cooking spray before
pouring in tomato based sauces and there won't be any stains.

Wrap celery in aluminum foil when putting in the refrigerator
and it will keep for weeks.

When boiling corn on the cob, add a pinch of sugar to help bring
out the corn's natural sweetness.

Cure for headaches: Take a lime, cut it in half, and rub it on
your forehead. The throbbing will go away.

Don't throw out all that leftover wine: Freeze into ice cubes for
future use in casseroles and sauces. Left over wine?
What's that? :)

To get rid of itch from mosquito bites, try applying soap on the
area and you will experience instant relief.

Ants, ants, ants everywhere ... Well, they are said to never cross
a chalk line. So, get your chalk out and draw a line on the floor or
wherever ants tend to march.See for yourself.

Use air-freshener to clean mirrors. It does a good job and better
still, leaves a lovely smell to the shine.

When you get a splinter, reach for the scotch tape before resorting
to tweezers or a needle. Simply put the scotch tape over the splinter,
and then pull it off. Scotch tape removes most splinters
painlessly and easily.

Now look what you can do with Alka Seltzer........

Clean a toilet.Drop in two Alka Seltzer tablets, wait twenty minutes,
brush and flush. The citric acid and effervescent action
clean vitreous China.

Clean a vase.To remove a stain from the bottom of a glass vase or
cruet, fill with water and drop in two Alka Seltzer tablets.

Polish jewelry.Drop two Alka Seltzer tablets into a glass of water
and immerse the jewelry for two minutes.

Clean a thermos bottle.Fill the bottle with water, drop in four Alka
Seltzer tablets, and let soak for an hour (or longer, if necessary).

Unclog a drain.Clear the sink drain by dropping three Alka
Seltzer tablets down the drain followed by a cup of Heinz White
Vinegar. Wait a few minutes, and then run the hot water.

Do your friends a favor. Pass this timely (and some not-so-timely)
information on to a friend! I just did.

Makes you wonder about ingesting Alka Seltzer, doesn't it?

Goodmorning this Saturday

Goodmorning, everybody....
Thought I'd drop in and say Hi... There hasn't been much going on the past couple of days, but thought I'd touch base with you all anyway.

We had made plans to go to Landon's Thurs. night for supper, but then opted to do it on Wed. night instead. I had told Moriah I would take her shopping on Thurs night, after Lee got his paycheck...and I could fill the car with gas, so I wouldn't have to worry about running out somewhere...I was so low.

Our of the blue, Landon calls me on Thursday, and said that the local grocery store there in Ashland had had a big meat sale...Landon got about $100 worth of meet for $35, I think he said. So...he was wanting to see if we wanted to come out for supper again, on Thurs. I told him that I just didn't know, and wasn't sure if his dad would want to do that two nights in a row...or if he'd just rather go home after work. So, when I went up to pick up Lee's check, I ask him what he wanted to do as far as supper that evening...and he said he was open to whatever we wanted to do....So...we went ahead and headed out to Landon and Amanda's for supper, as soon as I picked up Lee around 7. We had burgers...which we absolutely fabulous. The weather was really nice, and I think Landon was in a bit of a cookout/grill mood. But, realized when he got ready to start his fire, that he remembered that the grill part or grate, of his bbq, was missing....he thinks it's some of the little neighborhood kids, that have evidently taken off with it, and who knows where it is. So...we just opted to fry the hambs. in a pan. Naturally, they would have been better cook out on the grill, but they were still wonderful. We watched a couple of movies, and got home, I think, about midnight, or shortly before.

Yesterday, I didn't really have anything that needed to be done, so I sent Lee to work with the car...that always helps to save on gas. It was rather nice not having to get out and go anywhere, or do anything. I spent the majority of my day online...talking with a new friend that I've made over the past couple of days. I don't remember if I told you or not...I know I have mentioned it to some, but almost a yr. ago, a post was made in one of my groups, from a lady that wanted to request prayer, and support for the husband of a friend, a soldier that was stationed in Iraq. She requested that if we felt so led, to add him to our addresses...to share encouragement, devotions, and prayer, for this soldier, while he was serving so far from home. So...I like others, added Jeff's name to my address book...sent him devotional...scpritures, ....hoping that he would know there were many people thinking about him, and praying for his safe return home. I'll be honest....it's not that I had forgotten about him...but it was a bit of a shock when I went into my emails a few days ago...and opened a email and began to read...."just wanted to thank you for all you've done...and to let you know I got back home safe." All of a sudden, my heart just lept for joy, when it finally dawned on me who it was. It was just such a relief to know that Jeff arrived home safely, and also that he had appreciated the things that I'd taken the time to send him...as well as many others, I'm sure. So...it was just wonderful to know that he had made it home safely. Since then, in the past couple of days, I've had so much fun getting to know his wife, Elizabeth....she is great, and we've had a ball getting to know each other and talking.

I don't really know if I have anything that needs to be done today, but I went ahead and took Lee to work thismorning, rather than give him the car. As far as I know, I don't have anything to do, but you never know when something might pop up, and here I'd be, stuck without a car.

The guy that's working on our buick promises us that he'll be here tomorrow morning to pick the car up, and take it to his house to start work on it. I sure hope he does what he says he'll do....Tues. is the last day we can have it sitting in the driveway, if it's not gone, then they will evict us. This is all because we've had the car sitting up on a jack with the tire off, because it has been TOO cold for Lee to work on the car. You'd think these people would realize that Feb. is not quite the time to be outside trying to do mechanic work, but as with most "business" people...they could care LESS about your problems. It ticks me off....they've always gotten their rent, but all this is simply because SOMEONE around here, complained to them about the car.... Why...just tell me why, do some people have to try and make it difficult on others. We have no idea who has complained... but if I knew, I'd sure be showing up at their door, to ask them WHAT I had done to them, that they felt it necessary to call my landlord, and complain, which in the longrun, could cost me my home. Why in the world would you want to do that to someone who has never done a thing against you? I just don't understand it. We live in a duplex....the guy next to us has a band...and often practices late at night...drums, guitar...BUT, I have never called the landlord to complain ...even though I'm listening to banging drums come through the walls of my bedroom. But, they have never done anything to me....or not that I know of, so I would never want to cause them trouble. But, who knows, for all I know it could be our neighbor that did the complaining....all we were told was that they had had complaints about the car from other "tenants", and from other neighbors. There are six duplexes like the one we live in...managed my the same company....so, it's been someone that lives in the same duplexes we do, as well as a neighbor somewhere around here, that doesn't rent from this company. Anyway...all I know is that we have to have the car OUT of the driveway before the end of the month is over. If this guy doesn't show up on Sunday, I'm not sure what we'll do....we'll probably end up having it towed to his house...if he's still gonna do the work on it, or, we're going to have to find someother place to tow the car to have it worked on. But, there is NO way that we can afford to move right now...or I'd just tell them to stuff this little, less than 1,000 sq. feet, 2 br duplex that they charge WAY too much for....$600 per month. Our lease is up the end of June, and Lee and I have discussed that we doubt if we renew another yrs. lease here. We will have some money coming from the settlement on Lee's dad's estate...but, not sure when...were just told around the first of the year when we'd be receiving it, so we're hoping that with that, we can get into a different place....we may even discuss the possibility of using part of that to put money down on a place of our own. We will just have to see how it goes.

So...here I am...just checkin' in with you all this morning, and planning on a pretty lazy day for myself here....I'm just not in the mood to dive too deep into too much today. Think I'll just take it easy today also. I don't think we have anything planned for tonight...unless Landon get's a hair and calls later about supper tonight...although, we had already said that we'd get together tomorrow....but, who knows with us...we could end up out there again tonight...or possibly, they may be able to come over here tonight. We haven't done as much of that as we ususally do, since Mary has been born. We have had some really cold temps. since she's arrived, and I just hate to drag her out in the bitter cold as small as she is. But, the temps the past few days have warmed up a little....I'm hoping that they will continue this way, and that FINALLY, spring is on it's way, and we can put these cold temps. behind us.

I've been wanting to put some new music on my pages in my blog, but have been having trouble with my limewire...so may try to mess with that somemore. If I can't get it to work, guess I'll have to use Kazaa....which I'm not very fond of...it is SOOOOOOOO slow compared to Limewire. I have downloaded it to my puter, but for some reason, it won't install....keeps telling me that it cannot remove old Limewire files....I've deleted everything I can find on limewire...but when I do a search for limewire...it pulls up tons of files, but then won't let me delete them. Anyway..if anyone has any suggestions on what the prob. might be, or how to correct it...I'd sure appreciate it if you'd let me know what needs to be done to fix it. Plus, when I go into my control panel...and to add/remove programs, it doesn't even show that limewire is installed. So...am just trying to figure out how to completely wipe out everything that has to do with limewire, and start from the beginning. Any help or advice you can give would be much appreciated!

Well, guess I'll head outta here. Not that there's much else to do, but am sure that you all don't want to hear me continue on and on and on...about nothin'! lol

I hope you all have a beaufiful day! I'll be around most of the day, and will be back intouch tonight to see what you've all been up to on the web today!

Take care...
Much love,

Check out this world tour

I can't remember if I told you or not, about Kirk and Tara-Lee going on a camping trip a couple of weekends ago. I remember Kirk calling when they got back and talking about what a wonderful time they had.

He told me about a couple that he and Tara-Lee met, that were from the Netherlands, and had been traveling the world. He even mentioned that they had trouble with their van, which needed some minor repairs, so they brought the van back to Lin and Neville's, where Neville agreed to work on their van, and gave them a place to stay also. Tara-Lee took them to the dairy where she works. Kirk said they were wonderfully fun people!

He told me that they had a website/blog, and that before they left Mt. Gambier, they told Kirk and Tara-Lee, that they would be included in their next blog entry. So...once Kirk gave me their site address, I have been keeping watch so as to read about the time that Ton and Belle got to spend with my son, d-i-l, and grandaughter, in Mt. Gambier, SA

I wanted to share their site with you...it is fabulous, and they have seen some amazing places. They spent New Years Eve watching fireworks in Sydney Harbor...how cooooooool is that!!!! I really think you'll love their site, and the pictures are out of this world. Make sure you check the photo album for Australia-Mt. Gambier Feb. 2006. You'll get to see pictures of Kirk and Tara-Lee...and more...so check it out! Hope you all enjoy their site.

Oh, what a beautiful morning...

Well, here it is, Thursday already. Boy, the week has really gone by quickly...maybe it's because I haven't been at work the past couple of days...I don't really know.

Well, it's been a busy past few days, with all that's been going on concerning my job...as most of you have probably read. So...what is the latest on the job? Gordon did call me back on Tues. afternoon, as he said he would, and had had a chance to talk to Tracy, who unfortunately, doesn't have any openings right now at the store on Nifong. But, Gordon said that he'd keep my # and Tracy did also, and that they'd call if anything ever came up. Maybe they're both just feedin' me a line...I don't really know, but something tells me that they're not. Lee's first remark was...."yeah...that means you'll never hear from them again". But, if they call, they call, if not, I'm not too concerned.

I did get rather entergetic yesterday morning...knowing that I didn't have alot of gas for running around, I opted to get dress before taking Lee to work, so that once in town, I could do some of the job searching that I've been wanting to try and do. I had seen another add in the paper...needing help at one of the shoe stores that is just literally around the corner from tucker's....just two doors away. So, that was the first place that I went...was able to talk to the manager...Becky...who has relatives in Lebanon...and use to live there herself....Lebanon being where I was raised most of my life, and she also knows Lee. We talked for sometime. She said she would be taking application for about 2 weeks, but said that still didn't mean that she might make a decision before then.

From there, I finally went to Kent's, and he was actally there this time...lol So, I was able to talk with him for a bit. He still hasn't found anyone for up front....register, waiting on customers...etc. So, he took my resume, and just said he was going to try and make some sort of decision soon...that it had just been really busy with Valentine's day.

I was also able to get in and see Celeste, at My Sister's Circus....the ladies clothing store. She, unfortunately, wasn't needing anyone, but did say that there might be a possibility she would closer to spring. And...she said she'd definately give me a buzz, if something came up. Again...who knows if I'll ever hear from her again.

I also got a resume' put in at Peak Performance...a physical therapy place here in town....they have two openings...their front desk/receptionist book appt. type thing, and back in their office...accounts receivable. Just waiting on that as well.

Spoke with a gentlemen on the phone who needs a "personal assistant/gen. employment/maid.... he works out of his home... He needs about 20 hours a week @$8.00 per hr. So...I emailed him my resume'...but haven't heard anything from him either. If by some wierd chance I would hear from him...I might possible considering taking on that, and the data entry also. 20 hrs. a week isn't much to be away from home, and he did say he was very flexible on hours...so I could maybe work in both of them...since I can do the data entry work at anytime, and work around the time I'm there. Who knows...haven't heard anything from him anyway, so guess "I'll worry about that tomorrow"...just like Scarlet...or whenever...if the opportunity even arrises for it to be considered. ...hehehehe!

But, despite not finding anything here in town, I do believe that I have found something that I am going to try....it's something I've considered before, but the investment was always a more than what I could afford. I've found a company, with minimal start up fee, for doing data entry from home. Dont' have to get out and go to work....can work in my pj's....don't have to put my teeth in if I don't wanna Teeth ....hehehehe
....and looks like I can probably make about $300-$350 a week...maybe more. So...looks like that is going to be my next job venture. I think I'm going to wait till I get my check Mon, then get the money order I need...and call to get myself all set up, and hopefully going within the next couple of weeks, which is what she said it usually took. So.....wish me well, and keep me in your prayers...that I can "make" myself do this work...unsupervised...lol I always said it would sure be neet to work from home, but then again, I suppose it does take a bit of dicipline...considering no one is watching you, and wondering why you're not working...It will all be up to me....but I really do think I'll enjoy it...as much as I enjoy spending time on the puter. The company that I'm going to go through is Oridine...it is based out of Calif. and has been in business for 6 years. I have heard of them, it seems like. If any of you do data entry...I'd appreciate you input...or if anyone has heard anything negative about this company, please let me know. I figure the most I can be out is some time, and $83....and if that's what would happen, then as much as I'd hate that...guess I'd just chalk it up to a learning experience...and be thankful it wasn't more money than that....lol It comes with a 90 day money back guaremtee. so hopefully, I have nothing to lose. I will be sure and keep you up to date on how it's going.

We were thinking about going to Landon's tonight for supper...but we opted to do it last night instead. I have promised Moriah that I'd take her shopping tonight, so we'll have a couple of hours to do that, before we go pick up Lee at 7...then we'll probably just come home.

So....this just feels pretty good...here I am, at home....not having to go to work at that NASTY cleaners in an hour or so...knowing that in a couple of days, I'm going to "officially" have a job...and won't EVER have to get out and go to work again...hopefully...and still be able to rake in some dough!!!! I like this feeling!!!! It really is something I have thought about and wanted to do for a long, long time....do something at home that can make me money!!!! Hopefully, I've found it! It just feels a little strange....I almost feel rushed right now...like I've got to hurry, or I'm going to run outta time, and be late getting to work. What a funny feelin'! lol

Well, this thing has seemed to turn into an epic!!!! Of course, it's been 3 days since I was in here...there's been alot going on! hahahaha Hopefully, I have you all pretty much up to date now. And, I am hoping...kinda have a feeling, that maybe things are gonna start running a little smoother in the Morgan house, in the next couple of weeks....especially financially...please keep us in your prayers that this is so....we are desperately in need of it...before things get way behind.

I hope you all have a beautiful day...It's currently 52 here...sunny, and is suppose to be 60 before the day is over.....I LOVE IT!!! AND DON'T HAVE TO GO TO WORK ON TOP OF THAT! Yipppeee...what a Thursday!

Will talk to you all soon, I'm sure!

Much love,
Lev

Well...Moriah wasn't too thrilled with me...but I did it anyway....boy, do I love my digital camera! lol I know these won't be the best...but since I don't have any pictures of Moriah when she was younger on cd...I have to do it this way. You can click on them to enlarge them, but I'm afraid they'll be pretty blurry that way...or some of them were...not sure why, but, maybe you'll get the general idea what a cutie she was...as if you didn't already know...lol There are a couple of her when she was a little older...once about 2 yrs. ago...then the other about 4 yrs. ago....the rest, she's little! lol hope ya enjoy!

Happy Birthday Sweet 16!

I don't really remember exactly what I was doing 16 yrs. ago today, but if it was like any other fairly normal day at the Morgan's, I was probably at home, doing laundry...cleaning house, the general stuff...trying to get as much done as I could before Lee came home a little early, then we would leave and go to Jeff City, for my drs. appt...I was VERY pregnant! lol Of course, the baby wasn't due for another couple of weeks...so this was just a routine drs. visit...or so we thought.

Kirk and Landon were at school, and would be getting home just about the time that Lee was. A little before 4. My appt. was for 5, and we had about a 45 min. drive to Jeff. The boys came home...then Lee, and off to Jeff we headed. We talked about where we wanted to go eat when we got done and the drs....there were always places in Jeff that we enjoyed eating, when we would get there occasionally.

We arrived at the drs. They took me right in...no one else waiting, as it was the end of the day and I was the last appt. My dr....Dr Su, was from the Phillippines...and I loved his accent. He did the routine examination that is done on women as fat and as preg. as I was...then very calmly turned and asked..."You ready to have baby?" "Sure, am..." I said..."I'm sooo tired of being preg." He looked at me and said...we'll let's go then..."Now?"... I questioned? "Yes...now." I was dialated to 6. He said he would meet us at the hosp. at 6:00, and we'd have a baby.

Well...needless to say, we had had NO plans to be having a baby this night...I figured I had another couple of weeks....what a GREAT surprise. Lee and I walked out of the drs. office, into the waiting room, where Kirk and Landon sat...looking TOTALLY bored to death, with being stuck in this drs. office....hehehehehe When they saw me, I asked them if they were ready to have a baby...to which they replied, much the same way I did..."Yeah...sure". and like Dr. Su, I said, "well, then, Let's go".... of course, they also replied as I did! "NOW?" Yes...now!

So, we arrived at the hosp....took time to make a few calls to relatives, friends, and the such, and then got checked in. By the time I had pretty much gone into full labor, all the relatives had made it there, and were present when Moriah Lorinda was born, and 8:34pm on February 21, 1990. She weighed 7lbs. 0 oz. and was 19" long.....and she WAS, beautiful!

Wow...where did the last 16 years go. I hold Mary, and it seems like only yesterday, that the baby I was holding was a beautiful blonde hair, and brn. eyed little baby girl. And now...she is such a beautiful young lady....and we love her so much, and are so proud of her. She has been through some tough times, the past few years...way too young to have faced what she has...her home destroyed by fire...the near death of her dad...saying goodbye to the big brother that she's NEVER been too far away from and losing people who were very close to her, due to death. Boy...it has been rough on her, but she has handled it like a trooper!

So....here's to our beautiful daughter, Moriah.......

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SWEETIE......
WE LOVE YOU!

Always,
Mom and Dad

udate on unemployment

I suppose I have sometime to update you all before I have supper....it won't be done for another 15 mins or so.

I tried later this afternoon to get ahold of Gordon at the Nifong store...which is where he usually is...we have 3 concord cleaners in columbia... the map below shows... 1. broadway...where I USE to work, 2. the store on Paris Road, and 3. the store on Nifong. I just live about 3 miles from the Paris rd. store(2).

Anyway, Gordon was not there, so when I told the lady that answered the phone who I was, and that I worked at the broadway store, then she informed me..."oh, Hi, Levonne...this is Tracy". Tracy is the manager of the Nifong store...like Rex manages the broadway store...Gordon is a district supervisor, and over all 3 stores...and the stores in Jefferson City, also. Anyway...Tracy immediately asked me what was wrong...she said she could hear it in my voice...I guess the fact that I was upset really showed. Again...without really thinking, I preceeded to spill my guts. She was flabergasted at some of the stuff I told her...and then told me, after I told her of the story about Mary telling this man on the phone, in front of other customers, that we didn't have time to look for his pants...anyway...Tracy told me that she heard about that all the way out at the Nifong store. Seems the customer was a little upset...but...after all, can you say that you blame him. I sure don't.

So...Gordon called me back and was very patient with me letting me explain, about all that had been going on, after appologizing again for walking out the way I did, and told him that I wanted him to be aware of all that had happened, that led me to that point today, when I felt like I was left no other choice but to leave. Gordon was shocked that not a word was said to me by Rex...not by anyone, as to WHY my hours were being cut, and even questioned as to why they were...telling me that if Rex needed more help, he should have hired someone for the afternoons, and then brought me in from9-3 or 10-4, through the busiest time of the day...he said that would have made MUCH more sense, than just cutting back my hours. It definately sounded like that was not the right thing to do, or the way it should have been handled. He naturally didn't come right out and say Rex was at fault, but you could tell my the tone in his voice that he wouldn't have delt with it that way, and wondered why Rex did. He also made it very clear that he didn't think I asked for an "excessive" amount of time off, and that the time I did ask for was very reasonable, and should have been granted....without the heartache attached...as it always was with Rex. I simply told him that it was getting impossible to work in a place where people couldn't hardley give you the time of day...and seemed to have no emotions what so ever when it came to me...but would joke and have tons of fun with other employees. So, Gordon basicaly asked me if I thought there was a "click" there...and you just had to be accepted by the right people...and I couldn't do anything but tell him, that was the way they made me all feel...like everyday that i walked in there was my first day...and I was the newbie!

As it stands right now...Gordon is going to be going to Jeff City tomorrow morning, but told me that when he returned, he was going to talk to Tracy, and see what she had available at the Nifong store...and I also told Gordon that I had no objections to working back and forth between the Nifong and Paris Rd. store, either. And, bit my tounge, and said...that "only for him"...if he was ever in a real pinch, that yes...I would go back a work at the broadway store, if he ever needed me to. So,he told me that once he gets back, and tomorrow afternoon, and talks to Tracy, that he'll give me a call. He said I could go ahead and keep my 2 days vacation pay down...today and tomorrow...so I won't loose any days pay, and then if he can get me started at the other store, we'll just stop on the vacation pay, and I can take it at another time, and he'll set up transfer papers to transfer me to the other store. He did tell me that my raise had gone through...Feb. 3...the day Mary was born, so it will be on the paycheck that I receive next Mon...in a week. So now, I'm just waiting...there maybe the possibility that I'll be back to my full 4 days..possibly even more...depending on what all is available, plus my raise went in...so, maybe this will all work out in the long run. I am still trusting that God put me where I should be. I'll be sure and keep you all up to date, guess we'll see tomorrow afternoon.

Just pulled supper out of the oven...take care
Much love,
Lev

Unemployed!

Well...here I am, unemployed, without job, jobless!

When I got to work, not a word was said to me. I was there for about 5 mins. and was able to check the schedule...my 2 days a week, had been cut down to 1 ! I walked back to my counter, and did a couple of small things...and then just casually walked back to the bathroom...not saying anything to anyone. Once in the bathroom, I called Lee, and told him what I had seen on the schedule...the fact that no one even bothered to so much as say HI, when I walked through the door. I told him I was tempted to question Rex, but warned him that if I did, chances are I would end up walking out...and Lee agreed that something needed to be said, and that I should then do what I felt needed to be done. So...I told Lee that I'd give him a buzz in a bit, and let him know what was going on.

I walked out of the bathroom, and didn't see Rex, so assumed that he was upfront, so headed back that way. The only ones up front were Mary() and Gordon...the area supervisor...who is REALLY a super nice guy...wish he was my manager...anyway, so I went back to the back where I finally met Rex coming out ot the mens bathroom...i called to him as he came out, and walked over and asked...if he could tell me what was going on with the schedule....he looked at me with a very "duh" look, and said "nothing". Nothing???? I questioned...I've been cut down to 1 day a week.... His excuse was that I seemed to ALWAYS want time off to spend with my grandkids!!!! What in the world is that?! I went back and forth with him on that and could tell that it was a hopeless cause, to which I just put my hands in the air, and looked at him and just said "Fine". I walked up to the time clock, took out my time card, and then turned to Gordon, who was sitting at the desk next to me, and just started to spill my guts. I told him that I had been there over a year, and that for some reason, Rex had cut me down to 1 day a week...that I would come in and work on my days off when he called...would come in and work on days that were overly busy, or when someone needed me to fill in, I was always there, and I couldn't figure out why now, he would do this to me. I told Gordon that I had asked for two days off in the past year, so that I could be in the delivery room when my grandchildren were born, and that now, Rex was using that as an excuse to cut me back. Gordon acted quite surprised when I told him 2 days is all I had ever requested off...and his reply was "that's all?" Anyway, I told Gordon that I had a little over 19 hours of vacation time coming, and asked if I could just start that time as of today, and he said yes, he could do that...I appologized to him that and said I was sorry that I hated to have to do it this way, but that Rex left me no choice, and I just couldn't survive on only 1 day a week pay. Gordon said that he understood. I clocked out... and put my time card up. As I went to get my coat, and drink, I heard Gordon tell Rex that I was to be written down for my vacation pay....and I walked out.

I would REALLY love to be a fly on the wall, after I left there. I just hope that if Rex tries to fill Gordon's head full, that he won't believe it. I guess it really doesn't make much difference. If there are anymore dealing with them, I'll do my best to make those dealings with Gordon, since he is the district manager. Hopefully, there will be no problems with my vacation pay. I should have about $120 coming. Gordon seemed very understanding, and he also acted very puzzed about some of the things I told him, as if he himself wondered why Rex would do that. I would like to think that Gordon would say something to Rex, if he truely questioned as to why he did what he did. There was never one word said to me about why my hours were being cut...but, like Lee said, when I asked, he sure had an excuse. Lee himself thought he should be repremanded by Gordon, that to cut hours like this on an employee that's been there for over a year, without any notice as to why...is NOT the way it should have been handled...especially after I had told Rex not more than 2 weeks ago, that I REALLY needed to have at least 4 days a week...that I couldn't afford to loose anymore days...this was right after Jacob told me that they were giving him his Tues. back. But, I guess I'll never know if Gordon stood up for me or not, unless he calls to tell me otherwise.

Vacation pay is set up wierd there...when you have so many hours coming, you can't take them all at one time.... say 40 hrs vacation....and just take a whole week off. You can only take 3 days at a time, and it has to be a day when you were normally scheduled to work. I think that in itself is a little strange...but anyway, so I'm not sure if I'm only going to be able to take 1 vacation day a week...until I've reached my 19+hrs. or, if since I'm not coming back, if they'll do it all at once. I may try to call Gordon a little later...give him time to get back to his other store, and ask how the vacation pay will work. I will again take the opportunity too, to try and talk to him about what happened, and maybe be able to talk to him in a little more depth, than I could there today...Rex was on his way over to us...so I could see it coming...maybe this way, I'll have a little more time to speak with Gordon. I'm sure if I would have tried to continue to talk to him more today...Rex would have been chiming his two cents worth in, and trying to undermind everything I said...so...naturally, if Gordon tells me something different...I'll let you know.

Oh well...what a day. Guess I'll head outta here...not sure what all else I'm going to do today, other than go get Moriah later...but not sure when.

Monday Again!

Goodmorning, on this Monday. Of course, you know that Monday's are NOT my favorite day of the week. lol

Today is a holiday in the US....Presidents Day, so alot of business, and all banks, and postoffices are closed. Tucker's is closed today, so Lee has the day off. Usually, when he has the day off, and I have to work, he takes me to work so he can have the car. But, today, he is a bit like I was on Saturday, and told me that he's just gonna stay here...doesn't need the car, and doesn't have anywhere to go...so, I'm going to take the car to work.

That may not be a bad idea...considering that I'm really having this strange feeling about going back to work...just wondering if they're going to try and pull a schedule stunt on me like they did the last time...and try to tell me that I didn't have all these days off....If that's the case...I will need a car there, because I won't be there for very long. I told Lee about the weird feeling I've been having, and reminding him about the last time this type of thing happened, and I told him too, that if they pull that stunt again...I'll be giving alot of people a piece of my mind, and that I WON'T sign his "write up" sheet again...and Lee agreed that I shouldn't....if that's what this day comes to. I really just don't know what to expect when I get there today....I could be fired, or the schedule could have been changed... again, with me down for 4-5 days....who knows. It has just been so strange there for the past few weeks, that you don't know what to expect anymore. Not that I'm really anxious to go to work, but I am rather anxious to see what kind of doo doo has been going on since I was there last...5 days ago. It will be interesting, I'm sure.

We went out to Landon's last night...had pizza, and watched movies. Moriah has school off today as well, so wanted to stay at Landon's last night, so, when I get off work tonight, I'll go pick her up, then come home. Landon has today off, but works the next couple of days, so we probably won't get together with them again until Thurs. probably...he said he thought that was his next day off.

I forgot about Lee having the day off. I was gonna run him to work, then back home to get ready and was going to stop by Kent's before I went to work. But, since he didn't work...we slept in instead. I may try to go by Kent's tomorrow morning, before I go in...or may stop by and see him today, if things go wierd at work and I end up leaving. Who knows! Hopefully, in the next couple of days, I'll be hearing something from Chuck...the guy from House Drs. I hope that is good news.

Well, I need to head outta here in about 15 mins. Needless to say, if I end up back here before too much longer...jobless, I'll let you know. In the mean time...hope you all have a good day, and I'll be back tonight to see how your days have been going...and let you know how mine went as well. Have a good one!

Much love,
Lev

Good day...

Goodmorning, on this Sunday. I just thought I'd drop in and say "HI". There's just not much going on on this lazy morning.

I didn't get up till almost noon....man....how I love sleepin' in!!!! Since then, Lee and I have been watching old reruns of the A-Team...laughin' at Mr. T, and the such. lol

Our neighbor next door...the one who'sson is going to work on our buick, is moving this weekend. Michael, her son, was over here early this morning to start moving her. I guess, since Michael is going to help us by working on the car...although, we are going to pay him, Lee felt a little obligated to help him...although he admited that it wasn't the way he wanted to spend his Sunday...moving, so Lee helped them finish up on the load they were working on, and then he took off with Michael, and headed over to help them unload. I'm not sure how much they have left in their duplex next door.

The only plans that we've really made for today, is to go to Landon's sometime this afternoon, after he gets off. And that's about the extent of the plans. I have no idea what we're going to have for supper, or what time Landon gets off, or what time we're goin out there. But, I'm sure it isn't going to be till about 4 or so...I'm sure it will be at least 3 before Landon is off.

I was so hoping that it would be different, but it looks like I'm back to the old grind at the cleaners again tomorrow. I guess the best way of looking at it now, is that I'll only have to put up with it for two days, then back to all those days off in a row. Hopefully, during the first part of the week, I'm going to hear something from House Drs....the handyman place in Ashland, or from Kent, at the flourist.

Some of you may remember, back the end of Sept or so, when I was scheduled for about 4 days off in a row...which I never get...but, didn't question, and then when I did return, they tried to tell me that I had missed 2 days of work...and tried to tell me that the schedule hadn't been changed...when all along, I had been writing the schedule down, for about the past 3 weeks in a row. Rex and I got it to it a bit over that...and him trying to tell me that it wasn't his place to call me and ask where I was....regardless of the fact that he knew it wasn't like me to just NOT show up for work. If it had been anyone else in that store....especially "Mary"...he would have been on the phone in a heartbeat...wanting to know if everything was okay....with me...he just sluffs it off as me not showing up for work, when he knows good and well that was not the case...then, has the nerve to "write me up" for it. Well, like I said before, I have been keeping track of my schedule the past couple of weeks, since all this mess started, and I haven't said one wordto anyone, or questioned as to why I had been cut down to only 2 days. It has even crossed my mind, that I am libel to get to work tomorrow, and have them tell me that I was suppose to be there for the past 3-4 days....and try to use that as an excuse to fire me....of course, I don't know if that is the case...but, then again, if that would happen...I would not be the least surprised. I can promise that if I walk in tomorrow, and I'm told that I didn't have the last 4 days off, that I will pull out my dayplanner...where I changed my scheduled days, and inform them that I know very well that that this is what the schedule said, and that IF it was changed after I left on Tues. then SOMEONE, should have called me....if I was not scheduled to work on my last day off...then tell me WHY I would come in to see if the schedule had been changed. And...I can promise that I will NOT give him the chance to write me up again...for something that I DID NOT do, and he sure won't have the chance to fire me....I will simply tell him how rotten and dirty I think it was, for them to take an employee that has been there over a year, hire two new people, and then cut that employee down to only 2 days, and give the other days to the newly hired ones....I'm sorry, but, THAT IS NOT RIGHT! So...if that would happen to be the case when I get there tomorrow, then I won't be at Concord Cleaners for a very long period of time tomorrow. I told myself that I wouldn't quit till I had another job, and that 2 days were better than one, BUT, I will not let them accuse me of something I didn't do....AGAIN!!!! I signed his "write up...diciplinary" papers last time, and had my chance to note that I did not just deliberately not show up for work, that it was a simplemistake of the schedule...but I knew very well, that wasn't the case either...the schedule was changed, and I not notified...or the time taken to notify me of the change..like I could see the schedule if I wasn't there. I will NOT sign his "write up" sheet, if that happens to be the case tomorrow...I'll just do without my 2 day a week job, and pray that something else comes through....FAST!

Well, Michael and Lee just pulled up next door. Guess I'll go see what's up there....

Well, I guess a bunch of the help they were suppose to have didn't show up, so they're pretty scrapped for extra hands. Michael has gone to a friend of his mom's, to see if she can help. They're trying to talk me into helping pack boxes...man...I don't wanna do that.... I don't know...I may go help just a little. I told Lee that I really didn't feel like it...and he said it would only have to be for an hour or so...but he knows I really don't wanna. I'm trying to do a bit of laundry, and will have to try and see about some supper when I talk to Landon...so, I don't know if I can use that as an excuse or not. Lee asked me what we had planned, cause he told Michael that he'd help...I just told him that we were gonna go out to Landon's for supper...but didn't really have to go as soon as Landon got off...so, he just decided to tell Michael that we have plans for later this afternoon, but that he'll be able to help him till around 5. I guess one of the guys that was suppose to help today, that didn't show...Michael is working on his car, and I guess he told Lee that since this guy didn't bother to show up to help, that his car was gonna get put on the back burner. So...Lee's hoping that since he's helping, maybe our car will get pushed ahead. Like I told Lee, though, it's not like Michael is fixing our car for free....and he's suppose to be helping Michael move in return...we're gonna be paying him to fix the car...so Lee helping really shouldn't have anything to do with it...no more than the other guys car shoud be put on the back burner, since he is also paying Michael to fix his car....but, I guess, you really can't blame Michael either...I dont' know that I wouldn't feel the same, were the situation reversed. So...at least Lee will be able to help for awhile, and maybe in return, our car will get done it little quicker. I still think I'll try to get out of helping, if at all possible.

Moriah was up at Amanda's for a bit, and just got back. She's not real happy with me....she has birthday money that burning a whole in her pocket, as usual...lol, and since Friday night has been talking about wanting to go shopping. Naturally, she comes in from Amanda's and wants to know if we can go. With Lee next door, me trying to get some laundry done, and having to get supper together before too much longer, I told her today wasn't a good day. Needless to say...that wasn't the answer she wanted to hear. lol So, we had to go back and forth about why not today, and what does her dad being next door moving have to do with it, and she wanted to go before school started again...they have tomorrow off, and then sounded ticked because I said I had to work tomorrow and Tues, and maybe we could go later in the week when I have all those days off. But...that wasn't the answer she wanted to hear either...but....too bad. Plain and simple...I told her not today...there's was too much going on. Now..if something happens that I'm not at work for very long tomorrow...then...maybe, if she loses the "attitude" between now and then...lol, I might come on home and get her so we can go. Guess we'll just have to see what happens tomorrow.

I don't guess there's much elso going on. I'm sure this hasn't been of alot of interest anyway...such excitement in the Morgan house...hehehehehe Moriah wants to get on the puter a bit, so I guess I'll head outta here, and work on some of this laundry...that I say I'm doin'...lol And then will probably call Landon in 30 mins or so, and see what the scoop is for supper. I'm sure I'll be back later...maybe before we go to Landon's, but definately after we get back. Hope you all have a great day, and will talk to ya soon!

Much love,

Glad this day is over!

It has been a long day, and I think I'll hit the sack as soon as I'm done here, but I told you, I'd let you know how the interview went.

First...I never made it to Kent's, and deliberated about going tomorrow, but I was starting to see that the money isn't going to go far, and I'd better start watching gas, cause there will be no more money till Thurs...anyway, I decided that I'm going to let Lee take the car tomorrow...that will save a good 1/2 tank, with my car running the way it has been. It's back to that using way more gas than it should, and we really don't know why. Anyone with any suggestions? So, that will at least save on some gas, plus eliminate me having to get out tomorrow morning in the horridly cold weather that we're having, and I'll be able to sleep in. I may try and hit Kent's on Mon...Tues...or may even wait till Wed...I'm not sure. I'll probably try to do it Mon., if at all possible, because I'd like to talk to Kent too, before I hear back on the job in Ashland.

The interview itself went pretty good. Getting there didn't go quite so easily. I tried to track my time...figure out about how long it would take me to go pay the bills I needed to pay...stop and make copies of my resume, go downtown and see Kent...and head to Ashland to be there at 10:30. My first stop was to be the grocery store..where I could make copies, and pick up a couple of things I needed to make Moriah's cashew chicken, that they didn't have last night when I was at a different store...so...I stood in line what seemed like forever...to simply ask where the copier was...I knew they had one, but I was looking all over, and couldn't see it. I finally just walked up to a cashier and asked them, and they pointed me in the right direction...finally. I situated my purse, and reached in to get my billfold...and dug some more, and a bit more...getting more and more frustrated by the second. The billfold was NOT there, so i was hoping that it had fallen out in the car seat. I WASN'T that fortunate....so....I had to go all the way back home...about 3 miles, I guess...and get my billfold, by this time I knew I was going to be running short of time.

I ran by to pay my cell bill, and to check on adding another phone for Moriah for her birthday...after standing and wasting another 15 mins. or so, and told what plan I could get, then was told that plan wouldn't be available till my contract was up in june...guess i can only add one phone per year...or something...who knows. So...that meant no phone through them, and also another stop at Wal Mart , to go ahead a do a prepay phone...which is what we had originally said we were going to do anyway. So...I headed downtown to just run off some copies at Tucker's. Seems that they've gotten rid of their other copier, and the only one now goes through the computer...and no one can get on the computer unless Rob does it...he's got it password protected...so...I was just so discusted that I told Lee I go somewhere and pay to have copies. So..I went just a couple of blocks down to the Kinko's. I was never so discusted their either...after finally getting my copies made, then I stood in line forever waiting for someone to check me out. I was watching the clock, and was done making my copies around noon...already cutting it short...but doable. But, I could not even get anyones attention, and I watched noon turn into 5 after... 6 after...and my interview was for 12:30. I finally got someone, and left there around 10 after...but was downtown columbia, and a ways from the highway. By the time I got to my interview, I was about 10 mins. late. I was thoroughly discusted, especially when he mentioned that he was beginning to wonder if I'd show up...and had just had an interview before me that didn't. I completely appologized, telling him I was tied up at Kinko's making copies of my resume. He spent about 30 mins with me, I guess....asking questions, telling me they did...a little on how they run the business, and the office...what duties the office manager would have. It is a very laid back place. He did seem a little concerned about me driving from columbia, but I continuted to assure him that it was't anything of a drive to me...that I do it quite often, and am in Ashland at least every couple of days anyway, only about 5 mins more than I'm driving to work now, so i sure hope he doesn't consider that little bit of a drive a problem. I sure don't...or I wouldn't be considering the job. So...he says he has one more interview tomorrow, and that he'll be getting back with me probably around the first of the week. So...I'm not really sure if that means Mon..or Tues...but would like to see what Kent has available...if anything, and how much hourly, so that I can compare the two.

We got everyone back to the house about the time I'd planned, but, the cashew chicken didn't get done when planned, so it threw the schedule for the evening off some. Moriah and the girls decided not to go to the show, since we got done eating so late, and then still had cake, ice cream, and presents. Allie..one of her friends that came over, brought a movie that Amanda hasn't seen, so right now, they're all curled up in the living room with Lee, watching the movie. I'm gonna be a party pooper and go to bed when i'm done here....lol.

So...I don't really know anything on the job situation yet...but at least one of them is out of the way, and out of my hands...so, now I just pray! Hopefully, I can get to kent's on Mon. If I can see Kent on Mon., and he'd happen to offer me about the same money wise as Chuck...I might have to consider taking that one...rather than putting Kent on hold, not knowing if I'm even going to hear from Chuck...even if it is a 'no'. I just don't know...I just pray that something does come through. Chuck sounded very understanding about my situation at the cleaners...I told him I had been moved down to 2 days...and he agreed..how was I suppose to live on that. I said jokingly...although actually serious...if ya know what I mean, that I could come in Monday morning...and just wouldn't have to go back to the cleaners. He remarked that from what he'd heard, he'd have a hard time giving Rex 1 hours notice. lol I did tell him that I in no way felt indebted to give a notice, especailly with the lack of consideration that they have shown me. Chuck agreed. So, anyway...as soon as I know something different, I'll let you know. In the meantime, keep praying that the right job comes through, at the right time, and things will just fall into place.

Well, I've been almost an hour writing this...I can't hardly keep my eyes open, and no telling how many typo's I have made. I'll definately be here tomorrow...gonna be stuck in this house all day with no car..and no way to get anywhere out in the bitter cold. I'll just stay in my cozy house...thank you very much! Talk to you all tomorrow!

Have a great one!

Job interview today!

Goodmorning, everybody!

Well, today is d-day... the day I'm headed out for job interviews. I have to start getting ready in a bit...I have a few bills to pay while I'm out, and am going to go by Kent's Florist and see him, before I have to be in Ashland for an interview with the handyman place at 12:30. Hopefully, Kent will be there when I get there. He just told me to come in after Valentine's, but didn't really say what time of the day was best. Hopefully, since I'll be there before noon, I'll be able to catch him before he possibly leaves to run around for the afternoon. Anyway...I'd like for you all to keep me in your thoughts and prayers, that all goes well with these interviews, and that I'm "newly" employed before this day is over. I'm just trusting God to lead me in the way I'm suppose to go.

After the interview, I'm headed for Landon's...the place I'm going is less than 2 miles from Landon's house. We'll hang out there until we can go get Kenny at 3...then are coming back to our house.

Moriah's 16th b.d. is Tues....but it is "not cool" to do anything on your birthday, if it's in the middle of the week...lol. So...she is having friends over tonight....wants her favorite meal prepared....my cashew chicken, then they're going to go to the movies. So, once we get back here, Landon is going to help me start to prepare the cashew chicken...it's at least a 2 hour ordeal, and we're wanting to have it done by the time I get Lee picked up, and back here around 7:30. That should give us time to eat, before taking the girls to the movie. I'll run Landon and everyone home a little before the movie is due to be over, that way, I can stop and pick the girls up on my way back from Ashland. I pass the theatre on the way to Landon's...so that will be real convenient.

So...I'm headed to get dressed...go pay a couple of bills..then will hit the florist...handyman service, and then back home. I'll be here when I get back to touch base with you all, and let you know what the word is on the job. Gotta run, or I'm gonna run outta time....ttys!

Much love,
Lev

Wed...and a few days off

Well, I thought this day was going to be a bit on the busy side...turns out it's been a pretty laid back day.

There's been a lot happening at the cleaners, but yet nothing really definate...so I didn't say anything in detail to you guys...it was just that I could feel it brewing in the air, but just wasn't sure when it was all gonna hit. I guess the last you heard, I had told you that I still was on the schedule for Tuesdays....which was the day that jacob said they gave him back. Well...I believe it was the next day, or next time I worked and checked the schedule, I still had my Tuesdays, but had just gotten my Wed. taken away instead. The new guy for afternoons they hired will be working on Wed. So...that put me back down to 3 days a week...which I already had told Rex, that I needed at least 4 days! I kept stewing inside...knowing that I had this job interview waiting, and was just biding my time. All this that's going on is just more reasons to be able to give to Rex, when I finally do quit. Well...by Monday afternoon...after checks had come, and my raise was still not on there, after a month...and Mary had gotten ahold of the schedule...I am now on the schedule for only 2 days a week. This will NOT CUT IT!!!! I do not have to be back to work at the cleaners now, until Monday..20th. I work Mon and Tues...and then don't go back till the following Monday. And not ONE person has said, or said ANYTHING to me about my hours being cut back to only 2 days.

Well, when I got home last night, and picked up the mail, the application from the handyman service had come, so today, I got that filled out, and a place I can get my resume printed off...since my printer isn't working. I tried calling to see if it would be possible to bring by the application and my resume, and speak with Chuck, but no one is answering the phone, so I again left a message, letting him know that I had received the application, and also had a copy of my resume, and would get in touch with him tomorrow about getting out to see him for an interview. Plus, I am going to go by and see Kent tomorrow also, at the flourist shop. And also by to see Celeste...at the clothing store, although I have been told that they probably won't be hiring till spring...but yet, that isn't that far away. Maybe one more plus, letting her know that by hiring me early...I'd be well trained by the time spring came and they got really busy...not the best time for training new employees. Anyway, I can only pray that one of these pans out in the next couple of days. I was worried about being cut down to 3 days a week...but 2! There's just no way that we can survive on that. One of these has got to come through so that I can just call Rex and tell him I will NOT be back in. Of course...I am not going to do that till I know for sure I've got a job. I suppose even two days is better than 0.

The son of our neighbor does some work on cars, and even helped Lee work on the buick with the problems it has. He is going to come over with a tester tonight when he gets off work and see what kind of diagnostic we can get on the car. Lee has already asked him if he would be willing to work on the car for us. When he gets here tonight, he is going to make sure that Mike realizes that our landlord has given us till the end of the month to get it working. I sure hope that he will be willing to work on it for us. Hopefully, we'll know more once he's here tonight.

My Uncle was in town yesterday, his wife, Charlotte was in Columbia for a meeting, and they stopped by the jewelry store to see Lee. Charlotte had a ring that needed to be sized, and Uncle Doc wanted to let Lee know that he got the title all squared away on the cadillac, so it was ready to go anytime we wanted to come down to the lake to get it. We're gonna have to figure our when we can do that..hopefully, as quickly as possible. Maybe if Mike will agree to work on the buick, possibly we can have both the buick and the cadillac up and running in the next week or so. That would SURE be a blessing, not only to us, but also to Landon. So, just pray that things go smoothly, where these cars are concerned.

We are going out to Landon's for dinner. We had originally planned on being out there about now, but since Mike said he would come by to look at the car, Lee wants to be here when he comes, and hear what he has to say. So, I just called Landon and told him it would be closer to 6:30 probably, by the time we got there. Lee wanted a big breakfast for supper, and that never takes too long, and we're in no big hurry. We're having sausage, scrambled eggs, biscuits with sausage gravy. Probably about our family's favorite breakfast! I remember how appauled Tara-Lee was, and her dad also, that we ate "gravy" on our "skones"....lol They thought that was the most horrid sounding thing! lol Skones are to be served with jams and jellies...and whipped cream! Gee...that sounds like dessert to us, here in the states. lol I remember the night that Tara-Lee said she'd like to fix us hamburgers for supper... "Aussie style"...we said..."sure"! Have any of you ever had a hamburger with a fried egg on it???? I was quite amazed that it was as good as it was. NEVER, in my life would I have dreamed of eating a fried egg on a hamb. but, it was quite tastey! They can keep their Veggiemite though...that stuff LOOKS, and SMELLS horrid!

So...here I thought we were gonna be working on car all day, and that I was gonna be running here and there for job interviews, and instead, it has been a quite leisurely day, and most enjoyable. Tomorrow, Lee will go back to work...I'll come back home and "regroup" myself, and see about getting in for these job interviews. Hopefully, by tomorrow night, I can just call Rex and tell him he needs to find someone else. I have no idea if I still get the vacation pay due me or not if I quit. If I do, that's great, if not...guess it's the small price to pay for just being able to get outta there. I'm still keeping my eye on the paper too...seeing if something else might pop up. Of course, I'll be sure and let you know what's happenin' if anything, tomorrow...I'll keep ya posted.

Hope you have all had a great day. Remember to check out my new pages on the grandkids... under the "more about me" section.

Will talk to ya all soon!

Much love,
Lev

The dreaded Monday's here!!!

Well, I can't believe that I haven't been in since Friday. The weekend definately didn't last long enough...and one day just seemed to blurrrr right into the other. Of course, the fact that I had to work on Sat. made my weekend extra short anyway.

Sat just drug on and on. It usually goes by rather quickly, but it sure didn't this time. We had two new employees when I got in there on Sat. One was getting ready to leave...Heath is his name, and Trevor came in at 12 like I did, and worked till 5. So...we had three people all afternoon, rather than just Mary and I as it usually is. So far, I'm still on for Tuesday...guess we'll see if the schedule has been changed when I get to work today. Of course, Mary(the older lady...that thinks she's the boss...lol) was in her "prime", with a new employee there. She just thought she was the ONLY one that could tell him anything. Boy...lol...you don't even wanna get me started on what she was like that day...hehehehehe...it was so pathetic that it was funny...the stunts she pulled.... lol! And of course...Trevor being new...didn't realize. Oh well, if I'm lucky, maybe I won't be there much longer.

I was hoping to hear from this guy in Ashland this morning, but nothing yet. I did call out there and was going to check on the phone # that I'd given them. I couldn't remember if I gave her my cell or not...since my house phone isn't working...but I may have given her the home # just out of habit. I can't remember...Anyway, when I called, all I got was a recording, which definately shows that they need someone there. So, I just left my name again, stating that I wanted to make sure they had my cell # to reach me, and that I was looking forward to hearing from them about the job. So...I just hope that I hear something. I guess I'll l just play it by ear. I don't want to bug them to death calling them all the time. I suppose that I'll wait awhile...maybe I'll try calling Wed. morning, if I don't hear anything before then. I am going to go see Kent on Thurs...that's my day off, so, hopefully the guy will call by then, and if I haven't already, can maybe see him on Thurs. also. I may also stop in to see if Celeste is at her store also...since I never got ahold of her the other day.

Well, I finally got my camera back after a week of Landon having it...lol Well...actually, I had the camera, but had forgotten the cord, so couldn't even put the pictures onto my puter. lol Landon did get some really cute pictures of Mary though, while he had it. So, I finally got that done last night, after we got back from Landon's. Landon had to work yesterday, but was off about 2. We were pretty lazy around here yesterday morning, but got up and around...spagetti sauce cooked...salad made for supper, and we headed out to Landon's around 3. We spent the afternoon watching some movies...had a great spagetti supper...with salad and garlic bread, and watched more movies. Moriah had school today, so we didn't want to make it too late when we got home, but it was still going on midnight.

I guess I was going through "blog withdrawal"...lol I haven't done anything to it in awhile. So...this weekend, I decided to add some new pages to my blog. This page has been added to the "Levonne:More about Me" section of my blogs homepage...Lev's Notes. Of course...I'm sure most of you know already, that I am a Grandma...Nannie, as I'm called...but this is definately a part of what makes Lev, Lev...being a Grandma...So...here is where you can come to see new pictures of all my Grandkids...and there will also be some that include the rest of the family...me...Papa Lee..Landon, Kirk...etc. I do hope that you'll drop in often to view the pages, and see the new photos that will be added...as I get them. It's one more way I can share a part of my life with you all.

Lee asked me a couple of days ago, what I wanted to do for Valentine's day...I said I dunno...and asked him what he wanted to do...he didn't really know either. I mentioned seeing if Longhorn too reservations, since we didn't get to go there for his birthday, but he doesn't think they do....I guess I could call and see. We really never decided what we were going to do...we just kinda talked about going out to eat...and then didn't mention anything else. So...I guess I'll see if he wants me to call Longhorn, and see if they'll take a reservation...if not...I'm not sure what he'll wanna do. And, who knows...we may just come home and do nothing...lol...all that matters is that he is with me on this Valentine's Day...that's what's important .

Well, I just got a call from the guy in Ashland, about the job. He seems pretty nice. He asked a few questions, and is going to mail me an application. He wanted to know if I had a resume'...which I told him I didn't, but could put one together, if he wanted, but explained that my printer wasn't working, and that it would be handwritten...not very professional, I admitted to him. lol Anyway, he acted like it was no biggie, and said that he'd just send me an application, and that when he got it back, we'd go from there. So, maybe I'll go ahead a put a resume' together, and maybe I can figure out someway to get it printed off between now and the time I send the resume' back...if not, I'll just add a hand written note. He asked me if I was working, and where. I explained that I just needed more money, and more hours...that I enjoyed the cleaners, but that financially, it just wasn't cuttin' it! So...I just pray that if this is the job I'm suppose to have that it will happen...of course, I still have Kent's to go to...and it may be a possibility that I'll have to weigh the two jobs against each other..,to figure out which one we feel would be more beneficial to us. Oh...now I'm really nervous about this...lol!

Well, guess I'll head outta here...need to get ready for work and head out in a bit. Hope you all have a great day!

Much love,
Lev

TGIF...weekend's on the way!

How is everyone on this Friday morning?

I suppose I'm doing pretty good...looking forward to the weekend, even though I am stuck working at Saturday. For the most part though, Saturdays usually seem to go by rather quickly, and it always seems to be a shorter day since I get off at 5, vs. 6.

I headed to Ashland yesterday, around noon. Mary had a drs. appt. at 1:30. Not long before we were getting ready to leave for the dr., the school called and said that Kenny was running 100.8 temp., and needed us to come pick him up. Landon mentioned that Kenny said he didn't feel good when he got up for school, and Amanda took his temp then, and he didn't have one. He was saying that his tummy hurt. So, we went by the school and picked him up, then headed for the dr. We had no sooner got through the door of the drs. office, that Kenny asked where the bathroom was, and before I could take another step, he had thrown up all over the floor, We rushed for the bathroom, but AGAIN, we didn't make it, and even once again on the bathroom floor, before we could ever get to the toilet. The poor little guy when we brought him out of the bathroom, was as pale as a ghost...he had no color, and you could tell he felt awful. After a little bit, I took Gabriel and Kenny out to the car, so that Kenny could lay down in the back seat. They said he would have to stay home again today...they want them to be without a temp. for at least 24 hrs. before going back to school. So...he'll have a long weekend and not have to go back till Monday.

We took Amanda, Mary, Kenny and Gabriel back home when we got done at the drs., then Landon came back into town with me....I had some running to do. Before we got Lee, we picked up a friend of Landon's who needed a ride home from work...he doesn't live far from Landon....plus he hadn't seen mary yet, so was going to go ahead and come out to the house, and have supper with us. Landon has also been babysitting Dean's rabbit...since right before Christmas...it wasn't suppose to turn into this long of a babysitting job...lol So, we figured after supper that we'd load the rabbit up, and take it back to Deans. It was okay for awhile, but I think Landon was ready to be minus one rabbit. lol

We got Lee picked up...then out to get Moriah, then back to Ashland. We had a great supper, and definately had fun fussin' over Mary. After supper we decided to go rent a movie...then was gonna run Dean and the rabbit home, then come back and watch the movie....but, you know that things don't always go according to plan. hahahaha It took a little longer to do the rabbit thing, than we thought it would, and by the time we got back to the house, decided it was probably a bit to late to start movie...since Moriah had to get up early for school today. The movie isn't due back till next wed., or something like that, so we just decided to come home, and then get together this weekend sometime to watch it. We're not sure if we'll go out there tomorrow, or Sunday. I have a feeling that we'll be going to Ashland for the most part now, since Mary's here...rather than them coming to our house...especially since it's been so cold. I don't want to have to drag Mary out. Maybe if we get a nice day one time, we can use that day for them to come here.

I haven't heard anything else about my Tuesday at work....I told you that Rex said he wouldn't know anything until he got someone hired. There was one other time that I got ticked at him, and had the two people been in that day that I went to see, and either one of them offered me a job, I would have called him right there, and told him to "take this job and shove it!" lol But...neither of those people we available that day, and things smoothed out at the cleaners, so I never persued it any farther. But, I have really been thinking...even if I do get to keep my Tuesdays, and even after my raise goes in...and that's even if it's the max of $.25 per hr....it still isn't what I need....I mean, it would definately help, and be better than it is now....but I still really need more. So...I decided to go ahead and start looking at a couple of different prospects. I definately wanted to check at Kent's floral...he knows Lee, and also comes into the cleaners, and I want to check with Celeste Hardknock (do you believe that last name? lol) She is the lady that comes into the cleaners.......verrrrrrrrrrrrry rich...and owns an exclusive clothing shoppe here in columbia....Lee works on her jewelry.... so I'm hoping that this might get my foot in the door on either one of these. I did fill out an application for Kents...back at the end of Sept., when all this crap went on at work, but never got one filled out at 'My Sister's Circus'....that's the name of Celeste's botique. So...I just decided I was gonna do it....and if they want to hire me...then....I'll just quite the cleaners. Rex has gotten in a LOT of applications, and so it may be convienent for him to just go ahead and find him another one while he's at it. I had noticed the other night, when I was looking at the Boone Country Journal...Ashland's paper....reading about Chris, that there was a job opening in Ashland for an office manager...and gave a number to call. So, after I got home from dropping off Lee, I started thinking about that add again, and decided that I'd give it a call. I'm rather old fashioned about job interviews....I believe if you want a job, then you can bother to show up in person....looking presentable...and you certainly don't "call", and apply over the phone. lol ....But, this add said "call"...no address, no business name...so I really didn't have another choice. It is a handy man service, owned by a husband and wife....I spoke with his daughter. He has 7 employees, and is needing someone to help in the office...phone, file, setting up appts. etc....Mon-Fri. 9-3!!!! What FABULOUS HOURS!!! No weekends...or nights....and she believed that his is going to pay around $8-9 per hour....which is $1.25-/$2.25 more than I make now. I will be making $6.75 an hr....if I get the max. raise of $.25...but I don't know yet how much my raise will be. So...she told me that she didn't expect her father back today...he's out of town, but that he would probably try to call me on Mon. I explained that I worked Monday, but not until 1, and that I could definately meet with him on Monday morning. They own a farm in Ashland, and the office is located on their farm. I debated Ashland, because I, like others think...well, that's a little too far away. But, I try to think reasonably...It takes me exactly 15 mins. to drive from my house to the cleaners...making no stops inbetween. If I leave my house, and go right to Ashland...no stops...it takes me 20 mins....all highway....no city driving, etc. So, what's the big diff....plus, I'd be making about $150 more a week....honestly....I don't see how I could go wrong with that....plus the advantage of being able to see my grandkids ...and Landon everyday....I think I could handle this!!!

I had thought about getting dressed, going down town, and trying to see Kent, and Celeste, and see what I might come up with there. I did go ahead and decide to call Kent first...he is very often out, and not even available...but, he was there, and I immediately appologized for calling him rather than coming in, but I knew he was often out and unavaliable. I told him who I was...the cleaners...etc....he mentioned that he hadn't hired anyone for the front counter yet...and that he needed some delivery people. I asked him when would be a good time to come in and see him, and he immediately said...."after Valentine's....we're swamped!!!! So...I thanked him and told him I would be back in touch with him then. I will have Thurs. 16th off...so will probably see him then. I tried going ahead and calling Celeste...but no one is answering at the store...maybe they've gone to lunch. I may try back in a minute, and see what I find out there. It would be nice if I could line up all three of these, and be able to weigh the options of which one would be the best deal. As far as Kent's and My Sister's Circus...they are both downtown...Kent's 1 block from Tucker's...My Sister's Circus...2 blocks. I could come into work with Lee...we could have lunch together....probably leave together...although Kent and Celeste aren't open till 7...so...there is an advantage to that also...it will just depend on how many hours, and what the pay is. But, I am going to try and think optimistically, that I don't think I may be at the cleaners too long. I haven't even told Lee that I've done this...although I did mention that if they cut another day...Rex might just have to find someone else...and of course, Lee agreed that I really need to find something different. I have told him that if need be, I'd go right to Celeste, and to Kent. But, I just kinda decided to do this late last night...and I hadn't told him at all about the add for the job in Ashland. I suppose I'll tell him tonight that I've spoken to Kent, and also about the possibility of this guy from Ashland calling, and then may also have something to tell him about Celeste too...depending on whether I can get ahold of her. I am being lazy in a way....I'm in a warm fleece pullover, and my warm up pants...and slippers...I really DON'T want to have to get dressed up...put on makeup...and go downtown... if she isn't even going to be there...or the store closed...considering no one is answering....so...I think I'll try to call. I waited on Celeste Wed. when I last worked....she always comes through the drive thru...with her little poodle...and his pink ruffle collar....boy, does she spoil that dog...lol I came real close to leaning out the window, and tell her that I'd like to come speak with her regarding employment....but, I figured that might be rather tacky....hehehehehe....so I didn't. lol

Anyway...so other than waiting on that...I don't really have much to do other than leave around 3....take a prescription by to get filled for amanda, and then run to Ashland...I told Landon that I'd wait and come around 4, when he got off. I'll probably hang out for a bit, and visit...and hold mary, then head home and get something going on supper before I go get Lee.

Well, geeeeee, have I been rattlin' or what??? lol Guess that strange noise I heard was all you guys snorin'!
ROTFL I'll definately keep ya up to date on the job deal...so say a little prayer that things will go the way they should where that is concerned. I'll let you guys go....hope you have a GREAT day. I'll talk to you all later tonight, and see what's been going on with you!

Much love,
Lev
