Counting down!!!

4 days, and counting! We're half-way there.
As I assumed, I didn't get all of my shopping done yesterday, but I've at least eliminated some from my list. All I have left to do is one gift for my Dad, and then some smaller stuff for Moriah...3-4 more things...and a couple of pair of jeans for Lee,...then I will be finished! .... I think....until I happen to run onto something else that I think someone just can't live without! HA! I have a way of doin' that at times. Oh well....
Back to work today. Hope the day goes quickly. It has been so horribly busy the past week at work. It's like everyone's coming out of the woodwork. We weren't really expecting to be that busy...thinking that lots of folks would be either out of town, or preparing for Christmas...instead, everyone is wanting their stuff cleaned BEFORE Christmas. We had tons of clothes Mon....so who knows what they took in yesterday, and what we'll be stuck with today. So, tomorrow I have off. I'm dropping Lee off at work a little before 9, then have to go pick up Amanda and take her to a drs. appt. Landon and I are going to go to the store, and start getting some of the things that we're going to need food wise, for Christmas. I think we're just doing snackie food here, on Christmas Eve...chips, dips, summer sausage, cheese, veggies...that type of stuff. Moriah wants "hanky panky", so I promised her that I'd make that.
HANKY PANKY(CAT FOOD)
INGREDIENTS:3 lbs ground beef2 lbs Jimmy Dean's sage sausage1 box (3lbs) velveeta cheesecrackers or thin sliced petite deli bread
I like to add 1 can of "Rotel:tomatoes and green chilis" to mineDIRECTIONS:In seperate skillets, or one at a time, on stove top (no microwaves please), brown ground beef and sausage. Drain. Combine meats into a crockpot on medium setting. Cut cheese into small squares and add to meat mixture. About 1/4 of the cheese at a time. Stir till melted. Cook on low heat for approximately 1 hour. Mixture will thicken. Keep warm in crockpot for serving. Serve on petite deli breads or crackers.
With my Dad's health not being too good right now, my Mom spends most of her time with him, and won't be able to prepare much when we come down on Christmas Day to visit, so I'm going to try and prepare as much of that here and bring with us, so she won't have to try and do too much. Once I get Lee's check, around 5, I have to go pay the rest of my internet/cable...they came close to cuttin' me off yesterday!!! YIPES!!! That would NOT be good. Then, I'll probably try and finish up on my Christmas shopping...since Lee will be working late anyway, and maybe I can be finished in time to pick him up around 8 or a little after. We may make some kind of supper plans with Landon, I guess we'll just have to see how things go time wise, and what we're going to have time to do.
I work Fri, and will have to spend most of Sat. preparing for Sat. night, when everyone will be over here for Christmas Eve, so, I think I'll be putting Moriah in charge of the housecleaning, over the next couple of days, so that when Sat. gets here, I'll be able to spend most of my day preparing food, and not have to be cleaning. There always seems to be so much to try and get done, but there is also an excitement in the hustle and bustle of getting everything prepared for the moment that we're looking forward to...our evening of sharing with family. It is a wonderfully exciting time of year...and I LOVE it!
Well, guess I'll head outta here...probably putz around on the puter a bit, before having to leave for work. I'll be back tonight, I'm sure, so will be sure to drop in and see what you've all been up to throughout the day.
Have a good one!!!
MERRY CHRISTMAS

Much love,
lev
