Hard Luck

Hard Luck
==========
Ain't no use as I can see
In sittin' underneath a tree
An' growlin' that your luck is bad,
An' that your life is extry sad;
Your life ain't sadder than your neighbor's
Nor any harder are your labors;
It rains on him the same as you,
An' he has work he hates to do;
An' he gits tired an' he gits cross,
An' he has trouble with the boss;
You take his whole life, through an' through,
Why, he's no better off than you.
If whinin' brushed the clouds away
I wouldn't have a word to say;
If it made good friends out o' foes
I'd whine a bit, too, I suppose;
But when I look around an' see
A lot o' men resemblin' me,
An' see 'em sad, an' see 'em gay
With work t' do most every day,
Some full o' fun, some bent with care,
Some havin' troubles hard to bear,
I reckon, as I count my woes,
They're 'bout what everybody knows.
The day I find a man who'll say
He's never known a rainy day,
Who'll raise his right hand up an' swear
In forty years he's had no care,
Has never had a single blow,
An' never known one touch o' woe,
Has never seen a loved one die,
Has never wept or heaved a sigh,
Has never had a plan go wrong,
But allas laughed his way along;
Then I'll sit down an' start to whine
That all the hard luck here is mine.

Mid-week Hello!

Goodmorning, everybody!

So, how is everyone doing this fine Wed. morning? It would be a better Wed. if I didn't have to go into work, but unfortunately, I do. Work today, and then a couple of days off...Thur. and Fri., until I have to go back in and work on Sat. I am working Sat. morning, which I don't do very often. I'll go in at 8 and be off by noon, so that won't be bad. I was surprised to hear that Lee had Saturday off as well, with Christmas and all, but this will probably be his last sat. off till Christmas is over.

I don't guess we've got anything planned for tonight....just pick up Lee when he gets off, and come home. I have tomorrow off, and at some point will probably go to Ashland...and then when Lee gets off, I think we're going to go to Landon's for supper. Gabriel was buggin' me Sunday about wanting pizza, so I think that's probably what we're gonna do. There is a little pizza place in Ashland, called Pizza Hause...I think we're gonna try that and see if it's any good. If not...we'll know not to go back again...lol. But, it is close and will be handy to pick up, and then head right to Landon's. Past that...who knows what we're gonna do. I think I heard Landon say that he had Sat. off...so if that's the case, we may do something with them Sat. afternoon, or evening, after I'm off.

Well, with yesterday off, I was able to get some more music added to my blog. Hope you've all had a chance to go listen to the new additions I've made. I make such a big deal out of my music....I'm such a music lover, which may seem a little strange to some, if music doesn't effect them the way it does me. But, I have included songs on my page, that all I have to do is listen to them, and they bring me to tears. Music does something to me that it very hard to explain...and touches me in a way like nothing else.

I haven't done any Christmas shopping to speak of.... I've picked up just a couple of small things for Landon. That is all that I've gotten done. I tell myself every year, that I'm going to get started on my shopping earlier than usual, but it always seems that I end up waiting till the last minute. Usually, the factor is money...having to pay bills, or put them off, in order to buy Christmas. There is never any extra.

Christmas is my favorite holiday, but I have to say, that I'm getting pretty discusted with what is taking place around Christmas time these days. For those of you that don't live in the states, I'm not sure if you're dealing with the delima of Christmas or not, but it is getting rather rediculous here in the US. Most of you know that I am a Christian, but I am NOT one of those that is making this holiday difficult for so many. It is NOT "politicially correct" to say Merry Christmas anymore...we may offend someone who doesn't celebrate Christmas....so we are to say "happy holidays"...we can't call it a "Christmas parade", it is a "holiday parade", Santa is Satan, and is taking the place of the real meaning of Christmas, we no longer have "Christmas trees", but holiday trees....IT IS GETTING TO BE SOOOOOOOO REDICULOUS!!!!!!! When is it going to stop?! I guess you can tell that this subject tends to tick me off just a little! People are taking this holiday, which has meant so much to so many of us over the years, and left us with so many wonderful memories, and now they're wanting to take all that away from our children today. I'm sorry...but to take Santa and all his magic out of the lives of our children, ..... to me, it is like stealing their childhood. I have so many beautiful memories of Christmas, as a child. I was a preacher's kid, and of course, I always knew the true meaning of Christmas, but as a child, there is a magic about this time of year, that I will NEVER take away from my children, or grandchildren, along with teaching them what the real meaning of Christmas is. You can bet that I will STILL be wishing people a MERRY CHRISTMAS....if they don't like it....TOUGH!!!!! I sure wouldn't be offended if I had a Jewish friend wish me a happy Hanukkah , or an African American friends wish me a happy Kwanza....why in the world would anyone expect anything less than a Merry Christmas, out of those of us who do celebrate it. Anway...it is a subject that is really going bananas here in the states, and it is getting to the point where it is getting to be rediculous!!!! It seems anymore, that it's everything....can't celebrate Halloween, it's evil...can't celebrate Easter, cause the Easter bunny is taking over Christ Ressurection, can't have a Christmas tree, ..... All this has to end. It is just getting so crazy!

Well, guess I can't think of much else to say....that doesn't happen to me very often...lol. I usually have noooo problems talkin'! hahahahaha

I hope that you all have a beautiful day. It's not suppose to be quite as cold here today as it has been. Of course, by Sat., they're talking more snow flurries....guess it's just that time of year!

Love you all, and have a good one!

Much love,
Lev

Another cold blustery day

How I wish that dasies were blooming, but unfortunately, it is another blustery day in mid-Mo, and for most of the afternoon yesterday, last night, and even in to this morning, we have had those little white show flurries flying around through the air. At least, we aren't suppose to get any accumulation. I'm not ready for snow, much less a bunch of it on the ground. That will come soon enough. It's a whole 28 degrees outside, but with the wind blowing at 15+ mph, the windchill makes it feel 17. Entirely toooooo cold for me!!!

Well, got Lee off to work, and now back home. Boy...am I glad that I don't have to go into work today. I think I just might be a tad bit lazy today, and not plan on doing much. I am going to get this vacume run, and my kitchen floor mopped, and maybe try to finish up on some laundry, but other than that, I'm just not gonna do a whole lot....well, one more thing to add to the list...Moriah just called and forgot her glasses, so I guess at some point today, I'm gonna have to run those by the school. I did have to go pay my car insurance today, but wasn't gonna immediately run out to do that, but, guess I'll try to do that and run Moriah's glasses by the school, before too much longer...maybe. I'm definately not going to be in a big rush, that's for sure.

I've still got alot of music that I want to share on my blog. I'm sure I'll try and get somemore of that done today. I did get 3 pages done last night, and have some additional songs to add to those pages, as well as some other ones that I want to add. Hopefully, I can get more of those done today. I do hope that you're enjoying them.

With it being so cold today, I may make a big pot of potato soup for supper...some grilled cheese on the side...it is definately soup weather, with the wind whippin' and whistlin' outside.

Bella, I'm sorry that you had such a rough time with your blog. It is sad, that someone ....anyone would want to go in and destroy something that someone has worked so hard on. I know I'm where you are...just learning the beginnings of html coding, and it can be alot of hard work...as well as fun. But, it is one of those things that I've mentioned so many times...that if others would stop, before doing anything to someone, and question???? "would I want someone to do this to me?"...then of course, no one would ever do anything so hateful. Whether it's the extreme of taking someone's life...or something as minute as having to mess up someone's blog...we all SO NEED to start following the Golden Rule, and "doing unto others...as we want done to us". I just have to shake my head in disbelief, and sadness, when I think that some cannot even practice simple kindness, in their lives. It is very very sad.
All I can do is pray that somehow, they have a change of heart. You know..the Bible says that we will reap what we sow...and one day, the sadness that these
people have heaped upon others, will hit very close to home, and then, hopefully, they will realize...then start replacing all the hate in their hearts, with some love. It sure makes you feel better inside...

Well, guess I'll head outta here for now, and see if I can get somemore work done on my music pages. I'll be sure and check back in later, and let you know what I've gotten added. The three I did last night are Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra, and International Favorites, and will be adding more to that today too....so make sure you check back in and see what's new!

Have a great day, and I'll talk to ya soon!

Much love,
Lev

A long holiday weekend

It is a "blustery" day in Missouri today, as Pooh would say. The rain that we had through the night and early morning hours, has finally quite, and the sun is trying to peek it's head through the clouds, but is having to work awful hard at it. It isn't suppose to be very warm today, temps. dropping from what they are now, as this time is suppose to be the high temp of the day. The main rain has passed us, although there is a chance for it throughout the day.

Well, I guess it was last Wed., since I've been in to touch base with you all...other than the quick post at 2 a.m. to let you know about the new music pages I added. So, what's been going on since hump day?

I wanted to try and be on the road Thankgiving, by 10:15/10:30 at the latest. Needless to say, we didn't make it. But, guess I should complain as we were only running about 20 mins behind schedule. We were still able to get to Mom and Dad's by the time we were wanting, so all in all, it turned out well. Thankfully, the traffic wasn't too bad. I imagine that most people were already where they needed to be by 11.

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner....turkey, mashed potatos & gravy, dressing, green beans, corn, hot rolls, spiced cinnamon apples, relish tray...pickles, olives, carrotts...etc, pumpkin, and apple pie, my dad's homemade stolen, and angelfood cake. Needless to say, I ate way more than I should have...as did everyone else. lol But, I guess that is part of Thanksgiving.

It was a little windy and cool, but not bad enough that the kids couldn't play outside. Most of the time outside was spent raking leaves. That's become one of their favorite outdoor pastimes.

My Uncle Doc, and his wife Charlotte were over for a couple of hours to visit. I found out I am the same age as her youngest son, and we went to school together, when I was younger...kindergarden-3rd grade, and then we moved. By the time we moved back to Lebanon in 68', they had moved. So, we had fun talking about kindergarden days and looking through old photo albums. We had a wonderful visit with everyone. We didn't set anytime about leaving, as Thanksgiving is such a special time, and if we get home late, ....we just get home late. As it was, we didn't do too bad, arriving in Ashland about 11:30, to drop off Landon, Amanda and the boys. We hung out for about 10-15 mins, and then headed home. We got home just a little after midnight.

Fri....it was back to work for both Lee and I. Fri was a little crazy for us at the cleaners...busy, and hittin' us like crazy, until about 3:30, and then it was pretty dead the rest of the day.

With Christmas on the way, there probably won't be an extra day off for Lee until after Christmas, except his Sunday. He had to work on Sat., but I finally had one off, after having to work for the last 2. I decided that I better take the weekend to try and get Christmas decorations put up. We usually don't put them up this early...(well, actually only a week early), normally the first weekend of Dec., but, since I had to work next weekend, I figured I'd better get it done. It is a two day affair around this house to get it all done.

This is the first year in a long....long....long...more than 25 yrs., that we haven't had a real Christmas tree. We were given an artifical one...a rather expensive one, so it really doesn't look bad. We figured we'd try it this year, even though all of us were scepticle about it...as we love a real tree so much. Normally, we would take the first weekend in Dec.,...Sat. or Sunday...which ever day Lee had off, ...we'd sleep in, and then around noon, or a little before, we'd head out to the local tree farm, walk through the many Christmas trees, until we found one that we absolutely loved, and then could cut it oursleves. We'd come home, get out all the decorations, and start filling the house with scenes of Christmas. It was always an all day affair, and of course, never seemed to go smoothly. Lights not working...not enough hooks...the generally aggrivating things that make us try and lose our Christmas spirit...lol! So, for the last couple of years, I've taken one day to do the decorations in the house, stockings, candles, nativity scene, lights, etc., and then take a seperate day to do the tree. It was just too much to try and do all in one day.

So, Saturday afternoon, I started to work on draggin' out the decorations, and commenced to taring my living room apart!!! lol It looked like a tornado had been through it!!! Unfortunately, I wasn't getting a whole lot of cooperation out of Moriah...of course, she slept in, and hadn't been up long, and I was awake, and ready to start. lol I wasn't planning on seeing Landon Saturday, as they had made plans to go to Amanda's mom and dad's for their Thanksgiving. I guess I was assuming that Landon had the day off, but I was wrong...he had to work, so only Amanda and the boys went. So, I was surprised when my phone rang and it was him, wanting to know if I'd come get him when he got off work, so he didn't have to be hangin' out at his house all by himself. So, thankfully, by this time, Moriah was movin' a little faster...she was finishing decorating her room, and then I showed her what needed to be done in the living room while I was gone, and I headed out to get Landon.

It was nice aquiring a 3rd set of hands once Landon got here. As I said, I hadn't planned on doing the tree, and saving it till Sunday, when Lee was off, but next thing I knew, Landon had it out of the bags and setting it up. It turned out okay anyway, as some of the stuff I needed to put out, I set at the base of my tree. So...slowly but surely, the living room started to come together. I have three doors to hang trim on....vacume, (which I meant to do sat...and didn't, and Sunday, and didn't,) and mop, which didn't get done Sat. or Sunday either,....lol. And then I'm done! hahahaha But...for the most part, the Christmas decorations are finished! I got some pictures, so you can be sure that I'll get them posted so you can all see.

Sat. night, we brought home chicken, potatos, slaw..to go with the leftover dressing we had, and then on Sunday, I went back out and got Landon and the boys, (Amanda was sick) and they came back to my house for Nannie's famous turkey noodle soup....always a MUST at the Morgan house, after Thanksgiving. I picked up a few more things from $ General that we needed, lights, etc., and we finished up the Christmas decorating on Sunday.

So, that brings us to today. Monday....again! And back to work in a couple of hours. Not that I'm looking forward to it. The holiday is over, so things will get back to normal, or at least for awhile, before Christmas really starts kickin' in. I've got tomorrow off, so maybe ....I'll finally get that vacume run, and the kitchen mopped. I hope so...not sure how much longer I can stand my kitchen floor. lol

I've added some Christmas music to my Music, Music, Music blog...hope it puts you in the Christmas spirit!

Have a great day!

Much love,
Lev

Early, early, early!

It is the early hours of the morning, ... a little after 2 a.m., but you know me, I had to stop in and let you know about the new music I've added for your "listening pleasure!" Music I have added some new artist, and some new pages to artists that I had previously added. You'll see a link for "more", if another page is available for the artist you're listening to. So....when you're surin' the web tomorrow morning, with you cup-o-jo...hope you'll tune into my blog...Music, Music, Music, and listen to all the new songs I've added. I hope I've picked some of your favorites, or if not, hope after hearing them, they'll soon become some of your favorites.

I hope you've had a great day, and I'll be back in tomorrow morning, with my coffee, and fill you in on all that's been going on the past couple of days.

See you in the A.M.
I Love You Mug

It's hump day

Good morning on this Wed. Hope everyone is doing good!

I just got home from dropping Lee off at work, about 15 mins. ago, and thought I'd take a couple of secs. to say Hi, before I have to get started on some stuff.

I'm going to bake my turkey tonight...it will probably take about 3 1/2 hours. I 'm going to do it when I get home from work, which will make it rather late before it's done, but sure beats getting up early tomorrow morning and having to do it. I want to get it prepared this morning, before I have to leave for work, then it can be put right into the oven as soon as I get home tonight. I'm going to prepare as much of my dressing ahead of time too, and try to have it finished tonight, so that all I have to do is put it in the oven tomorrow morning. I'm just gonna try to get as much done ahead of time as possible.

Well, towards the end of last week, they were talking like we were going to have a nice Thanksgiving. In the upper 40's, is what they were calling for. Then in a couple of days, that themp was down to the lower 40', then as of yesterday, they were talking back in the upper 40"s again. Well, now this morning, they've changed their mind .....again. Half the time I don't think the weather people have any idea what they're talking about....lol. Anyway, now they're saying 38, which isn't going to be warm at all. I was hoping that it was going to be rather nice, so that the kids would be able to play outside at mom Mom's. But, with hats, coats and gloves, they'd probably be okay....at least long enough to run off some of the energy that starts building up, with a 6 and 3 yr. old, when they're cooped up in the house for very long. lol

We'll be headed out of town tomorrow around 10 am. That should put us in Lebanon around 12:30, or shortly there after. Who knows what time tomorrow we'll leave to head back home. With a 2 1/2 hr. drive back to Ashland...almost 3 by the time we get back to our house, we always tell ourselves that we're going to try to leave at a decent hour, so we don't get home at some rediculous hour in the morning. But, it seems that we never get out of there when we originally thought. Usually, I just say forget it... and if we're home late, we're home late. Thanksgiving only comes once a year, and one never knows what the next year will bring. So, it is definately worth being late, to be able and spend time with those we love. It will be hard this year, not having Kirk, Tara-Lee and Eva here. Last year was our first Thanksgiving with Granny, and now this year Kirk is gone. He won't even get to have a Thanksgiving for the next few years.....of course, he/we should be thankful EVERYDAY...not just one day a year.

Well, guess I really need to get outta here, and try to get this turkey started, and get done what I can for my dressing. I've got a bunch to do tonight, but I'm sure I'll be back and forth between the kitchen and the puter...or should say stove and puter, since they're both in the kitchen..lol.

Oh, and real quick before I go....I FINALLY did it! I figured out how to put music on a page...I finally got it to work. All these months I've been wanting to be able to share my music...well, actually years, that I've been trying to figure out how to do this, and I could never get it to work right. Something was always going wrong, or not working right. So...now it's finally done. It is going to take alot more tedious work than what I thought...it's going to involve changing alot of file names, and other stuff, so, unfortunately, I don't have a whole lot on the page as of yet, but please keep checking back. Now that I know what has to be done, I'll be adding more as quickly as I can...in the meantime, I've at least started, and you can be sure that more will follow. I do hope that you're all as much a music lover as I am, and I really hope you enjoy the music I am going to share with you. You can access the new page from the home page of my blog...Lev's Notes, and then clicking on Music Music Music, under the "Bits and Pieces", in the side bar. Hope you enjoy!

Talk to you all soon.

Much love

Starting out the week

Here it is, Monday again. I don't know how the weekend goes so fast, and this day creepsup as quickly as it does. But, here it is.

I got Lee dropped off at work a bit ago. It's nice to come back home now, and be able to cool my jets for a bit, before having to leave for work. I'll have to leave a little earlier today than normally, since I have to take a part back to O'Rilley's. Lee was going to work on the car, but as usual, something had to not go right. I ran Lee by O'Rilley's, to pick up a part that he needs to take the harmonic balencer off the Buick. I dropped him off at the house, then headed out to Landon's to pick them up, and come back to the house. Naturally, I can never get anyone moving as quickly as possible, so we didn't back here as soon as I'd hope. Of course, when we get back, Lee informs me that the part he got didn't work. They didn't have the part that he needed, so they made another suggestion, but, unfortunately, it didn't work. So, I have to take it back to O'Rilley's today, get our money back, and then Lee's going to see if he can find the part at one of their other stores. I just keep praying that we're going to have the buick running by Thanksgiving. I just really hate the thought of having to try and cram 7 people in our little car, and driving 3 hours to Lebanon.

As soon as I got home, I got my turkey taken out of the freezer so it can be unthawing. It will probably take it a couple of days in the refrigerator. I'm going to get it bakedWed. night, and have it sliced and on a platter ready to take to my mom's on Thursday. I am also going to be making the dressing too. I probably won't do that till Thursday morning. Here is a great recipe for dressing that I got from my m-i-l, Laura. Thought I'd post it, and maybe some of you might have a chance to try dressing, that never have had the opportunity to before. Hope you like it.
Dressing/Stuffing

A wonderful receipe from my mother-in-law, Laura Lee

two loaves of white bread torn into pieces (you can substitue one wheat for one white),
1 doz. eggs,
0-15 stalks celery finely chopped,
1 large onion finely chopped,
2 cans chicken broth,
salt, pepper and sage to taste

mix all ingredients completely in a very large mixing bowl. Mixture will be very soupy in texture. pour into a greased 9"x13" pan. Bake at 350 for approx. 1 hour, or until a knife inserted into the center comes out clean
For variety any of the following can be added. Fresh or canned mushrooms, oysters, approx. 1 cut of chopped walnuts or pecans

.
.
I've got tomorrow off, but have to work on Wed., so I'm going to be getting the things I need to cook my turkey and dressing tomorrow, rather than try and do it on Wed. Of course, I have the turkey, but I bake mine with lots of butter...real butter, and I normally don't have that around, so I will have to get that. Shoot, if I get outta work on time tonight, I may have the time to go get what I need, before I have to pick up Lee....oh, who knows what I'll do. lol

The weather's not suppose to be too bad today...about 51. Certainly not bad for this time of year. I think it's suppose to be this way for the next few days...down to about 47, I think they said, on Thanksgiving. I'll take it, cause I've seen Thanksgiving with snow...although it has been several years. And I certainly don't want that, since we will be traveling. Traveling on this weekend is dangerous enough, with out added snow, or ice. Thanksgiving is a very busy time on the highways, and unfortunately, wrecks and loss of life, always seem to happen, which is so tragic. So, we will not rush, and will be taking things very slowly, and carefully, on our way down.

I normally have Thursdays off anyway, so I don't get a extra day off this week, like others I work with, that normally work on Thursdays. So, it's off Tues., work Wed., off Thurs., and back on Fri. Then it will be the well deserved and looked forward to two day weekend, which is really gonna be nice. Unfortunately, for Lee, Thanksgiving may be the only day off he has till after Christmas, except for Sundays. It is going to be a 6 day a week job, till then. Christmas is a horribly busy time for the jewelry business!!!

Since Lee is planning on trying to find that part he needs, I guess that means he's gonna come home tonight, in the dark, and try to work on the car...he didn't really say that, but he works tomorrow, and wed., so I'm not sure when else he would do it..other than at night. So, I may just pick up pizza, something that's gonna be rather quick to eat, in case that's what he's going to do. I've got a coupon from Pizza Hut, for a lg./$12.99...not too bad.

So, let me think...I guess that's about all that's been going on since I was here last...and the next few days will be the typical rush, that goes on the few days preceeding Thanksgiving...making sure you've got everything you need, or everything done. But, it is all well worth it when you're able to enjoy the food, and the fellowship with family, friends, and all those we hold dear. It is ashame, that we can't learn to celebrate Thanksgiving everyday of our lives. It's a spirit we need to keep with us everyday that we live.

I hope that you all have a beautiful day, and I'm sure I'll be back here this evening, and drop in on you all again. Take care, and have a good one!!!

Much love,
Lev

Thanksgiving History

As most everyone knows, at least those of us in the United States, Thanksgiving will soon be here. That special time of year that we always try and celebrate with family and friends, those people that we are so Thankful for.

I belong to several groups, and I know that there are lots of my fellow members, that are not from the states, and don't celebrate this holiday, as well as readers here in my blog, although I'm sure there are alot of them that celebrate some sort of "thanksgiving" day or "day of thanks", for all that God has blessed them with, even if we do not celebrate at the same time of year.

But, for those that are not from the United States, and don't know alot obout our Thanksgiving celebration, I thought I'd include a little history lesson about this holiday. Also, over the next few days, I'll share some of the Thanksgiving gifs, and pictures I have, with you. Hope you can use them, and enjoy them.

So, for all my non-American friends, here is a little history on our upcoming Thanksgiving.

YEAH! For the Weekend

How have you all been? I have a few minutes before having to leave for work. I have to be there at noon. I am so glad the weekend's here. I would have preferred not to work today, but this is the last Sat. of the two in a row I had to work, since filling in for Jacob last weekend. I had Thurs. and Fri. off, which was nice, and then tomorrow, so hopefully today won't be too bad. But, it's suppose to be a beautiful day today, mid 50's, so I'm sure everybody and their brother will be out taking advantage of it.

I took advantage of the nice weather yesterday. As I told you, I headed to Ashland to see Landon for a bit. We decided to take a drive in the country, and eneded up going to a little town near by, where we use to live when Landon was about 5. I knew the town was in the area we were driving, but hadn't been there in so long, that I hadn't remembered how close to Ashland it was. Just about 10 miles. So...we drove through New Bloomfield, seeing what we hadn't seen in years, and talking about what we remembered, what was there when we were there, what was gone, what was new. It was really a nice afternoon spent with him.

Landon and the boys did end up coming over for dinner. We were wanting to get to our house earlier than we did, but got side tracked on the way there, so the boys didn't have as long to play in the leaves as we'd hoped. And, naturally, as kids go, when they didn't have much time to play, spent what little bit of time they did have, fighting and arguing...mostly over who was going to get to rake. Gee....what another rake would save me in headaches! lol So, once it started getting darker, we just brought them in....that took care of the rake issues!!!

Moriah went to the show last night with Amanda, and saw Chicken Little. She said it was really good! I know that the previews I've seen, it really looks cute.

I talked to Kirk night before last. They are doing good. Tara-Lee is working... a couple of different jobs, part time at each. I'm not really sure the details on one of them, but she is working at Burrandies, the Aboriginal Art Gallery, there in Mt. Gambier. She loves her art, and she is so very talented at it. Don't forget, there are links to Burrandies, and also other Aboriginal art, on the Aussie page of my blog.

I don't guess we have anything planned for tonight. It's Sat., so I'm off at 5, which means I'll come home before going to pick up Lee. It was one week ago today that I hit the deer, on my way home. Boy, did that scare the peeeeeeeeeee right outta me! I at least got my side mirror taped into place, so that I can use it. Before when I'd look at it, all I saw was the highway rushing by. lol

I guess tomorrow, probably around 3, cause that's when he gets off, I'm gonna head to Ashland, and guess we'll make plans for supper. I'm going to assume, of course, who knows, that Lee is going to try and work on the car/Buick tomorrow, since we REALLY do need it to go to Lebanon on Thursday, to see my mom and dad for Thanksgiving. We really need to take two cars, or we will be terribly illegal driving down there...no seatbelts, car seats, etc. If we were to be stopped....oh boy! So, I'm assuming that Landon and the boys, and possibly Amanda, who knows there either, will be coming to our house. You never know how Amanda is going to feel, or what...so half the time, she won't come over when Landon and the boys do....especially if she's been sick all day. So, who knows what it will be tomorrow.

Well, guess I really need to head outta here. Gonna need to leave in about 5 mins. At least it's a pretty day out, and not cold and yucky. That at least makes having to get out tollerable.

I hope you all have a good day. I'll be back tonight! Take Care!

Much love,
Lev

Early Friday Hello

Here it is, early Friday morning. I meant to get in here before midnight, but guess I didn't make it, did I?

I seemed to run most of the day. I at least had the morning to relax, after dropping Lee off at work. Moriah didn't feel good this morning, and didn't go to school. She was still asleep when I got home, and didn't get up till about noon. I left a little before noon to go pick up Amanda and take her to DFS to renew her food stamps, then we ran through Burger King, and got some Chicken Fries. Then headed to the phone co. to find out what they're going to have to pay to get their phone turned on. I sure wish I had the money to help, but needless to say, Lee got paid today, I paid a few bills, and now I'm down to about $30 till I'm paid on Monday. We headed back to Ashland, I hung around about 15 mins. or so, and then decided to head back home. I didn't realize what time it was when I left, and once I'd gotten in the car, realized that Landon would be getting off at any time, so I decided to run by McDonalds before going back to Columbia, and say Hi to him. He was already off when I got there. We talked for awhile, and then I headed back into town. It was about time to get Lee's check, and I knew I'd probably have to wait awhile, but I really didn't have the time to come either. I would have gotten here, and been able to stay about 15 mins., before having to head back uptown again. So, I went on up to Tucker's and just decided to wait. I got Lee's check a little before 5. From there, I had to run pay my cell bill, go pay the cable, stop by the grocery store, then stop to pick up ciggs, and soda, then headed home. I got home a little after 6. I told Moriah to get ready that we were gonna go out to eat when we pick up Lee, plus, I forgot to drop off Landon's rent, so HAD to go do that before we even went and got Lee. Once we got that done, we headed downtown, got Lee and went to the restaurant.

We didn't get home till about 9, and I'm definately glad that I'm in for the evening. I've been messing with my pictures in my blog...it's really starting to tick me off...I keep having pictures that won't show up. One time they're all working fine, the next time, I'm seeing little red x's. I still wasn't able to use the pictures that I wanted, but at least I hopefully have some now that are going to show up all the time. In between trying to fix pictures, I had to do something with my nails. They were etroucious!!!! I couldn't stand to look at them anymore. So, needless to say, by the time I finished that, it was this late before getting in to say Hi to you all. I'm down to just one hand left to polish.

Tomorrow...don't think I have much planned, believe it or not...other than taking Lee to work. I'll probably try to get some housework done tomorrow, since I don't work, and most the laundry is caught up. Guess the house is next! lol I don't know if we'll make any plans with Landon for dinner, or not.

Well, I've been over 30 mins writing this,...finally got my other hand done...lol It's after 1 now, so guess I need to get off of here. Lee's been snoring in the recliner for sometime now. hahaha. Plus, he'll be getting me up tomorrow morning, and I know I'm not going to want to do that at all...I'm positive, but, won't have much of a choice. At least I can come back home, and not have to worry about going to work, or meeting any deadlines. That will be nice in itself.

Hope you all had a wonderful Thursday, and hope your Friday is a great one, as well.

Take Care....

Much love,
Lev

Helloooo Thursday!

Good morning, everyone.

It is a beautiful "looking" day, here in Missouri. I stress that "looking", because to look out the windows, is very deceiving. The sun is shinning brightly, with a few fluffy clouds in the sky, but boy, when you step outside, that warm looking sky, does not feel so warm. It is 25 now, and not suppose to get above 37. So, it is very cold out. The only thing saving us today, is that there is no wind...or not much. But the past few days, winds have been close to 20 mph, which makes for a horrible windchill. When I got up yesterday morning, it was 28...but with the wind, felt like it was 18. It's the wind chill that we have in this state that kills me! Even at 25 today, it is quite tollerable, without the wind.

I've been back about an hour, since taking Lee to work. I've got the day off. I've got to go out later and get Amanda, so that she can come in to the DFS office, and get their food stamps renewed. If she doesn't get it done, they'll have none come Dec., and there isn't anyway they could survive without them. It would be tough. Then, I've got to run her by the phone co., to see what it's going to cost to get their phone turned back on. I've got bills to pay today too, after getting Lee's check about 5, but, possibly, I can add a little to the phone bill in order to get it turned back on. It has made it a little difficult, not being able to call, and the only way to communicate, is to drive to Ashland. lol We've been trying to make plans in advance, so we all know what we're doing. Shoot...even when we do make plans, 1/2 the time we don't know what we're doing. ahahahaha

I might, depending on money situation also, try to pick up a couple of things today, to start going towards Christmas. Every year, I say I'm going to try and start early, and every year, it seems like I always end up waiting till the last minute. I don't know why I do that, cause it is certainly easier to drop $20-30, here a there, a little at a time, than it is to wait till the last minute, and then have to drop $200. lol. So, if at all possible, I'm going to try and grab a couple of things, at least. I got a coupon for $10 off from Bath and Body Works, which I personally LOVE...so, I thought I might do that too. My Mom's BD is today, so I might use that for her, plus something else for her for Christmas. You have to spend #35 to use the coupon, but then that still makes it just $25. I'll wait and take her gift to her when we go down for Thanksgiving. But, I'll give her a call later today. I'm going to send money to Kirk, Eva and Tara-Lee. Shipping is so high, and especially, when you're shipping to the other side of the world..plus the time factor. It takes about 2 weeks, for regular mail delivery. I'm going to try to put back a few bucks here and there, so I don't have to try to come up with that all at once. We'll probably try and send $100, for all three of them. I may splurge then, and send it priority mail...which runs about $10....then they'll have it in time for Christmas.

Well, we got the new tires for my car yesterday. Wow...is it driving much better. We are inclined to believe now, that the struts are as bad as we thought they were. The car isn't pulling to the right anymore at all. Yeah, they do need to be replaced, but it's not anything we're going to have to rush into. Lee says we'll be able to wait till spring, when it's nice, and he'll be able to put them on. It will cost us about $120, plus Lee's time, vs. $239., for someone else to do them... So...Lee just said he'd pay himself the $100 labor...lol So, it is nice now, to at least know that I'm not going to have a blowout, driving down the road....and not have to fight the steering wheel from pulling to the right.

I've got tomorrow off too. As of right now, I'm not sure if there's anything I have to do tomorrow or not. I know I have to pay my car insurance, and I'm not sure if I can get there tonight intime before they close. So, I may have to do that sometime tomorrow. Of course, the insurance co. is just about 2 blocks from where Lee works, so I could give him the money, and he could take it down and pay it sometime throughout the day. I may do that, and save me a trip downtown. If I don't find out I have anything else to do tomorrow, I may just let Lee take the car, and let myself be stuck at home...so I won't HAVE to go anywhere...lol.

Lee got the tires yesterday, and took Landon out to do some running. They picked me up when I got off work at 6, and then we went out to Landon's and had supper. We had tacos., and they were pretty good, if I do say so myself. With getting Amanda this afternoon, and being out at Landon's at some point, after he is off, I don't know if we'll make any plans for dinner tonight, or not. I have a feeling that after being out there last night, Lee will want to come home tonight after work, so I suppose that it would mean the kids coming over here. Of course, I don't mind, but with their car not right, it means a trip back out to their house, usually kinda late, to take them back home. But, the kids...Kenny and Gabriel, are all the time wanting to go to Nannie's house, anytime I'm out there. They're always ready to get in Nannie's car and go! lol They did have alot of fun over here in the leaves. Of course, it's entirely too cold out now, I think...unless we could get back here before the sun goes down, and they had their coats on. Who knows...we'll see.

Well, I'm ramblin', and not saying much, I don't think...lol I guess I'll head out...maybe do a few things around the house here, before go to get Amanda around noon or so. After that...God only knows what time I'll be back here and can finally relax. It seems that all I ever do is run, run, run!

You guys have a GREAT day, and I'll be back to talk to you all tonight!

Much love,
Lev

A good Tuesday Morning to you all.....

Good morning, everyone! How is everyone doing?

It is a cold, rainy, nasty, yucky day in Columbia today. It would sure be nice if I didn't have to get out in this mess. I just got back from taking Lee to work, and then later this afternoon, have to go pick up Landon, when he gets off at 3, and bring him into town to hit the bank, and go pay his rent. Sometime today, too, I'm going to make some calls and check on tire prices, and struts for my car, and can hopefully get my car fixed today as well. Beyond that...who knows what else there will be to do.

Wow...I can't believe it....gas is DOWN to $1.99 gal. Compared to the $3.09 a gal. that we had for awhile, $1.99 feels like a gas war! lol I guess alot of you remember what gas wars were. It has been several years though, since we had those. I remember when I first started driving, they'd have gas wars, and you could pick up gas for $.27 gal! DO YOU BELIEVE THAT!!!!!! I could fill my car for about $5, and I had a big car....an oldsmobile. Shoot, if a person had a Bug...it wouldn't have only cost you $2. Oh for those gas prices again. Of course, I know I'll never see that again in my lifetime. lol

I do have tons of clean laundry that I have GOT to put up today. The laundry baskets in my room, and running over with clean clothes. At least I don't have to wash anymore...lol...not that I don't have other stuff to wash..have some sheets, towels, etc., but maybe I can get away with not having to do any of that today.

I was searching for something else, but happened to stumble onto this site.
http://www.discoverthedistrict.com/
"The District", is the new name that they've given to the downtown area of columbia. There are lots of things on this site to see, and alot of what you'll see going on in downtown columbia. Under "businesses" and under the "strollway", you'll be able to see links to Tucker's Jewelry, where Lee works. This is a pretty neat site, so I think I'm going to add this link to my blog. Michael, we have some wonderful art fairs in Columbia. Hopefully, there will also be some pictures for you to see. We have festivals where artists from not just Columbia, but all over central MO, set up their work on the downtown streets.

Well, guess I'll head outta here for now, and get on the phone, and start calling about my tires and strutts, and see what I can get done on those. I'll be around here for awhile longer, before taking off, I'm sure, and I'll be back later, without a doubt, to check in and see how everyone is doing. I hope you all have a great day, and I'll talk to you all later!

HAVE A GOOD ONE!

Much love,
Lev

Bible Stories

Kids and their Bible stories are always sooo cute...just had to pass this one on.

Must share a quick one with you myself.

A Sunday school class had been studying about the story of Adam and Eve, and how they were sent out of the Garden of Eden, when they disobeyed God, and ate from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. After the lesson, the teacher asked the children to draw a picture that had something to do with what they had just studied and learned. As the teacher walked around looking at the pictures the children had drawn, she saw pictures of Adam and Eve eating apples...snakes(Satan) in trees...but Johnny's picture puzzled her some. It was a car...convertable, none the less, with a driver, and two passengers in the back seat. When asked what his picture had to do with Adam and Eve's story, he told his teacher very abruptly, as if she should have known, that was God, driving Adam and Eve out of the garden.

Have a good one
Love,
Lev

THE PROPHET ELIJAH
The Sunday school teacher was carefully explaining the story of Elijah the Prophet and the false prophets of Baal. She explained how Elijah built the altar, put wood upon it, cut the steer in pieces, and laid it upon the altar. And then, Elijah commanded the people of God to fill four barrels of water and pour it over the altar. He had them do this four times. "Now," said the teacher, "can anyone in the class tell me why the Lord would have Elijah pour water over the steer on the altar?" A little girl in the back of the room started waving her hand, "I know! I know!" she said, "To make the gravy!" ~~~~~~~~~~

LOT'S WIFE
The Sunday School teacher was describing how Lot's wife looked back and turned into a pillar of salt, when little Jason interrupted, "My Mummy looked back once, while she was driving," he announced triumphantly, "and she turned into a telephone pole!" ~~~~~~~~~~

GOOD SAMARITAN
A Sunday school teacher was telling her class the story of the Good Samaritan, in which a man was beaten, robbed and left for dead. She described the situation in vivid detail so her students would catch the drama. Then, she asked the class, "If you saw a person lying on the roadside, all wounded and bleeding, what would you do?" A thoughtful little girl broke the hushed silence, "I think I'd throw up." ~~~~~~~~~~

DID NOAH FISH?
A Sunday school teacher asked, "Johnny, do you think Noah did a lot of fishing when he was on the Ark?" "No," replied DavidJ. "How could he, with just two worms." ~~~~~~~~~~

HIGHER POWER
A Sunday school teacher said to her children, "We have been learning how powerful kings and queens were in Bible times. But, there is a higher power. Can anybody tell me what it is?" One child blurted out, "Aces!" ~~~~~~~~~~

MOSES &THE RED SEA
Nine-year-old Joey, was asked by his mother what he had learned in Sunday school. "Well, Mom, our teacher told us how God sent Moses behind enemy lines on a rescue mission to lead the Israelites out of Egypt. When he got to the Red Sea, he had his army build a pontoon bridge and all the people walked across safely. Then, he radioed headquarters for reinforcements. They sent bombers to blow up the bridge and all the Israelites were saved." "Now, Joey, is that really what your teacher taught you?" his mother asked. "Well, no, Mom. But, if I told it the way the teacher did, you'd never believe it!" ~~~~~~~~~~

THE LORD IS MY SHEPHERD
A Sunday School teacher decided to have her young class memorize one of the most quoted passages in the Bible; Psalm 23. She gave the youngsters a month to learn the verse. Little Rick was excited about the task --but, he just couldn't remember the Psalm. After much practice, he could barely get past the first line. On the day that the kids were scheduled to recite Psalm 23 in front of the congregation, Rickey was so nervous. When it was his turn, he stepped up to the microphone and said proudly, "The Lord is my Shepherd, and that's all I need to know."

Midnight Phone Call

This is such a wonderful story, that I had to pass it on. Hope it blesses you.
Midnight Phone Call
We all know what it's like to get that phone call in the middle of the night. This night's call was no different. Jerking up to the ringing summons, Ifocused on the red illuminated numbers of my clock. Midnight.Panicky thoughts filled my sleep-dazed mind as I grabbed the receiver..Hello?"My heart pounded; I gripped the phone tighter and eyed my husband, whowas now turning to face my side of the bed.Mama?" I could hardly hear the whisper over the static. But my thoughtsimmediately went to my daughter. When the desperate sound of a youngcrying voice became clearer on the line, I grabbed for my husband and squeezed his wrist."Mama, I know it's late, but don't...don't say anything, until I finish. And before you ask, yes, I've been drinking. I nearly ran off the road a few miles back, and..."I drew in a sharp shallow breath, released my husband and pressed myhand against my forehead. Sleep still fogged my mind, and I attempted tofight back the panic. Something wasn't right."And I got so scared. All I could think about was how it would hurt youif a policeman came to your door and said I'd been killed. I want...to comehome. I know running away was wrong. I know you've been worried sick. I should have called you days ago, but I was afraid...afraid..."Sobs of deep-felt emotion flowed from the receiver and poured into myheart. Immediately I pictured my daughter's face in my mind and my foggedsenses seemed to clear. "I think-""No! Please let me finish! Please!" She pleaded, not so much in anger butin desperation...I paused and tried to think of what to say. Before I could go on, shecontinued, "I'm pregnant, Mama. I know I shouldn't be drinking now...especially now,
but I'm scared, Mama. So scared!" The voice broke again and I bit into my lip,
feeling my own eyes fill with moisture. I looked at my husband who sat silently
mouthing, "Who is it?"I shook my head and when I didn't answer, he jumped up and left the room, returning seconds later with the portable phone held to his ear. She musthave heard the click in the line because she continued, "Are you still there? Please don't hang up on me! I need you. I feel so alone."I clutched the phone and stared at my husband, seeking guidance. "I'mhere, I wouldn't hang up," I said."I know I should have told you, Mama. But when we talk, you just keeptelling me what I should do. You read all those pamphlets on how to talkabout sex and all, but all you do is talk. You don't listen to me. You neverlet me tell you how I feel. It is as if my feelings aren't important. Because
you're my mother, you think you have all the answers. But sometimes Idon't need answers. I just want someone to listen."I swallowed the lump in my throat and stared at the how-to-talk-to-your-kidspamphlets scattered on my night stand. "I'm listening," I whispered. "You know,
back there on the road, after got the car under control, I started thinking about
the baby and taking care of it. Then I saw this phone booth and it was as if I could
hear you preaching about people shouldn't drink and drive. So I called a taxi. I want to come home.""That's good, Honey," I said as relief filled my chest. My husband camecloser, sat down beside me and laced his fingers through mine. I knewfrom his touch that he thought I was doing and saying the right thing..."But you know, I think I can drive now.""No!" I snapped. My muscles stiffened, and I tightened the clasp on myhusband's hand. "Please, wait for the taxi. Don't hang up on me untilthe taxi gets there." "I just want to come home, Mama.""I know. But do this for your mama. Wait for the taxi, please." I listenedto the silence in fear. When I didn't hear her answer, I bit into my lip and closed my eyes. Somehow I had to stop her from driving."There's the taxi, now." Only when I heard someone in the background asking about a Yellow Cab did I feel my tension easing.."I'm coming home, Mama." There was a click and the phone went silent.Moving from the bed with tears forming in my eyes, I walked out into the halland went to stand in my sixteen-year-old daughter's room. The dark silencehung thick. My husband came from behind, wrapped his arms around me andrested his chin on the top of my head. I wiped the tears from my cheeks. "We haveto learn to listen," I said.
He pulled me around to face him. "We'll learn. You'll see." Then he tookme into his arms, and I buried my head in his shoulder. I let him hold mefor several moments, then I pulled back and stared back at the bed. Hestudied me for a second, then asked, "Do you think she'll ever know she dialed the wrong number?"I looked at our sleeping daughter, then back at him."Maybe it wasn't such a wrong number.""Mom, Dad, what are you doing?" The muffled young voice came from under the covers. I walked over to my daughter, who now sat up staring into thedarkness. "We're practicing," I answered. "Practicing what?" she mumbled and laid back on the mattress, her eyes already closed in slumber."Listening," I whispered, and brushed a hand over her cheek.

Droppin' in for a "HI"

I hope that everyone is doing well!
I meant to try and get in here yesterday, but as you can see, I did make it, other than to get my Sunday Scritpure posted to my blog, and to my groups. I was really wanting to make it in to say Hi...but things don't always go as planned...(isn't that the truth!!!)

First and formost, I want to say that I am so glad that my dear friend Bella, is back with us in our Special Friends group. We have missed her so so much. She has been battling alot in her life, the past couple of months, but she has remained strong, and steadfast, and she is now back with us, and we are soooooo glad that she has returned.

We were laaaaaaaazy yesterday. I finally made it out to Landon's around 2...I had told him I'd be there between noon and 1...lol Didn't make it...did I? Just one of those other things that don't go as planned. Another foiled plan was that Lee and Landon were going to try and work on the Buick yesterday...needless to say, I don't think he ever even touched it...well, touch it is probably all he did. I think he walked outside once, spent about 5 mins. looking...and that was it. LOL

The kids had a ball yesterday. It was a little cool..not bad, but as soon as we got back to the house, I went to the garage, got the rake, and showed Kenny how to start raking leaves. Before you knew it, Moriah, and Landon had joined in on the fun, and we had a mound of leaves in our back yard, and alot of rollin' around and jumpin in leaves, for at least a good hour or more. They really had fun. I remember how much fun I had as a child, at my grandparents farm, raking leaves into piles that was bigger than I was tall, and then diving in like there was no tomorrow! It was always such fun!

We had supper last night, watched some movies, and then left about 10:30 to take Landon and the kids back home.

Yesterday was the first daylight I had, and was able to look at the side mirror on my car, to better see what kind of damage was done when I hit that deer. I originally had thought that it knocked the entire mirror orr, but just the mirror was knowcked out of the housing. But, in the daylight, I can see that the entire mirror is out of place, and not where it use to be. As I said, the deer ran off...and there isn't really much damage to my car, so all I can hope is that I didn't hit him as hard as it sounded...(sounded like a bomb going off), and I hope that he wasn't injured any. It was a pretty scarey situation, anyway.

Well, back to work today...then off tomorrow. Today is a day that I'd definately like to stay home. It's only suppose to be about 49 today...not warm at all, just one more reminder that winter is on it's way, and I'M NOT READY FOR IT!!!! This kind of weather just makes me want to hibernate...like an old bear! hahahaha It might be one thing if we at least had some sun, but there's a chance for showers all day, and we've already seen a few sprinkles. And, wouldn't you know it, it's not going to be any warmer tomorrow, rain in the forcast also, but I have to get out tomorrow, and run around in this too. Yuck!!!

My Mom' sending me some money to get new tires and front struts on my car...finally. I've got steel belts showing through on my tires, and I bounce like I'm riding in a wagon, with no front struts..not to mention, that is what is causing my tires to wear so bad. So, hopefully, that money will come today, and I'm going to see what I can get done tomorrow about getting tires put on and the struts done. It will be nice being able to drive down the highway, without bouncin' like Tigger, or afraid I'm going to have a blow out!

I talked to Kirk late Sat..acutally Sunday...about 12:30a.m. He is doing great, and having a ball. They had just got back from spending the day in Portland, Australia fishing. He was so excited telling me about how pretty it was, and also about his latest catch...an octopus! I didn't much like the description he gave me, on how he caught it...with a big gaphling (?) hook. It was a little gorey! He reminded me to check my email, that he'd send me pictures, so when I got up first thing Sunday, I checked, and sure enough, had new pictures...and you know me and pictures...I have to share...

Soooo glad the weekend's here!!!

Am I glad that this work day is over...the running is done, and I'm home for the evening. It has been one of those days.

Work seemed to go okay, other than the fact that the afternoon drug on something awful. MU had their final home football game today, so everyone seemed to be there, and it was dead most of the afternoon, which made the clock move entirely too slow.

Like I mention earlier, Lee was suppose to have yesterday off, but didn't, so he was hoping that today, he'd at least be able to leave by 5 or shortly after, when is when I got off. I was hoping to be able to go pick him up, and us come right home. That would have been nice. But, unfortunately, he did not get to leave early, and was there till closing. After I got off, I called Lee, to see what the latest was, and when finding out that he couldn't get off, I headed right for home. When I arrived, less than a mile from my house, I had just rounded a curve, which is not very far from our exit. I had just had two or three cars pass me, because I haven't been driving the 70 mph speedlimit, not with my tires as bad as they are. These cars had no sooner passed me, than I thought to myself about how I was "sorry", I'm sure they were all aggrivated with me for driving so slow, but a few minutes faster, isn't worth my neck. I suppose it is a good thing that I wasn't going any faster than I was, just under 55, when before I knew it, literally the blink of an eye, I was looking at a deer, standing smack in the middle of the road, his eyes not more than 12 inches from my drivers side view mirror, then I heard a horrible thud, and the next thing I knew, my side mirror was hanging. My mirror hit him either in the Head or nose area, or along the front of his neck, I really couldn't tell. But, my first glance of him, he was strattling the center line...not moving, just standing in the middle of the road. I immediately looked in my rear view mirror, trying to see where he went, but instead, only saw the car in back of me begin to swerve...then go off the shoulder, then back onto the highway, doing 360's down the road, and the 3-4 cars behind him, doing all sorts of swearving and weaving to avoid hitting him. I got my car pulled off onto the shoulder as quickly as possible, and head down the road toward the car that had just spun out of control. He was sitting on the shoulder, but facing the wrong direction. Once traffic had passed he started to pull out onto the highway again, and then pulled off onto the shoulder, not far from where I was standing. He immediately got out and asked if I was okay. I answered yes, but had mainly stopped because I saw him swerving all over the road, and wanted to make sure he was alright. He told me that the deer wasn't in the road, so, we're assuming that it ran on into the woods...but how hurt it was, I don't know. I only know that it scared the peeeeeeee right outta me, and I know it did this young couple in the car behind me as well. As I was walking back to my car, I turned to look back at them, and they were just standing next to their car, holding each other. I just got back in my car, and whispered, "Thank You, Jesus", because I knew I had just witnessed what could have very well turned into a horrible accident, involving 4 or more cars, and possibly something worse. Angels were sure watching and guiding us tonight, along N. Hwy 63.

Moriah and I ran back out a little before 7 to go pick up Lee...we came right home and I started on supper. Now that the evening has started to wind down, I'm definately feeling alot better. It was, needless to say, a very stressful time, there for awhile. A very close call.

Tomorrow off!!!! I can't wait! This girl will NOT be getting up early tomorrow! Our only plans for tomorrow, are to go get Landon and the kids, and come back to our house. Landon's gonna help Lee with the Buick...he had someone tell him what he thought the problem might be, so they're going to check that out, then we'll just hang around and do some supper. Probably watch movies, or something. That's going to be the extent of our day...as far as we have planned.

I tried giving Kirk and Tara-Lee a call this evening...it was a little after noon, for them, on Sunday, but no one was answering. They're probably over at a relatives house...they do that lots of times on the weekends. So, I left a message that I'd called, and told them to get back with us. Last i talked to Kirk, he was still having the time of his life! Although, I can tell in his voice, that he misses home. It's always good to hear his voice, but make me sad also, knowing how long it is still going to be, before we see him again, and hoping that he isn't homesick and hurting, till he's able to get here. It just makes me sad thinking about it.

Well, after the day I've had, I think I may go soak this ol bod in a nice hot tub. After this day, let's hope I don't fall asleep in the tub, and drowned myself...lol I have been know to do that before...fall asleep that is...not drowned myself..lol

I hope you have all had a good day. We're suppose to have a cooler weekend...around 60's, I think. for tomorrow. So it will be a little chillier than it has the past several days. But, guess that's to be expected this time of year...whether I'm ready for it or not. lol

Have a great evening!

Much love,
Lev

Oh, meant to tell you. Once I got home and could look at my mirror...the mirror is still attached to my car...the mirror just fell out of it, and is hanging by the wires. From what I could tell when it first happened, I thought that my entire side mirror had been busted off. So, thankfully, Lee seems to think he can fix my mirror. There isn't another scratch on my car. And, with the size this deer was...it could have easily totaled my car.

So Be It

THE LAW IS THE LAW So if the US government determines that it is against the law for the words "under God" to be on our money, then, so be it. And if that same government decides that the "Ten Commandments" are not to be used in or on a government installation, then, so be it. And since they already have prohibited any prayer in the schools, on which they deem their authority, then so be it. I say, "so be it," because I would like to be a law abiding US citizen. I say, "so be it," because I would like to think that smarter people than I are in positions to make good decisions. I would like to think that those people have the American Publics' best interests at heart. BUT, YOU KNOW WHAT ELSE I'D LIKE? Since we can't pray to God, can't Trust in God and cannot Post His Commandments in Government buildings, I don't believe the Government and it's employees should participate in the Easter and Christmas celebrations which honor the God that our government is eliminating from many facets of American life. I'd like my mail delivered on Christmas, Good Friday, Thanksgiving & Easter. After all, it's just another day. I'd like the US Supreme Court to be in session on Christmas, Good Friday, Thanksgiving & Easter as well as Sundays. After all, it's just anothe r day. I'd like the Senate and the House of Representatives to not have to worry about getting home for the "Christmas Break." After all it's just another day. I'm thinking that a lot of my taxpayer dollars could be saved, if all government offices & services would work on Christmas, Good Friday & Easter. It shouldn't cost any overtime s ince those would be just like any other day of the week to a government that is trying to be "politically correct."In fact.... I think that our government should work on Sundays (initially set aside for worshipping God...) because, after all, our government says that it should be just another day.... What do you all think???? If this idea gets to enough people, maybe our elected officials will stop giving in to the minority opinions and begin, once again, to represent the 'majority' of ALL of the American people. SO BE IT........... Please Dear Lord, Give us the help needed to keep you in our country! 'Amen' and 'Amen'

Good Afternoon on a beautiful Veteran's Day

Good afternoon....
How's everyone doing today? Good, I hope!

It's a beatiful day in MO...sun's shinnin', and the temps. aren't bad.

Today is Veteran's Day, in the US, and I also know that Canada, and the UK, also celebrate today, in honor of their veterans. I'm sure there are other countries that do so also, even if not at this time of year. So, I want to take the time to say "Thank You", to all who have served their country, in time of need...both in the past, the present, and the future. It is because of them, that so many of us have the freedoms that we do today, and are so blessed to live in FREE, countries. I hope you'll visit my blog page, that honors those who served during WWII ...
http://cwwpeterson.blogspot.com/

Lee was suppose to have today off, but informed me last night, that he still had stuff to finish, and would probably have to work at least 1/2 a day, today...so far, he still isn't home.

I had made plans to go pick up Landon, Amanda and the boys, and bring them back here, later this afternoon. Landon works till 3, so I can't get them till after then. They're coming back here for supper, and Landon may help Lee somemore on the car, if they have any idea where to start looking. Lee took the car to work today, since we thought he'd be back around noon, so I'm stuck here till he gets back. Hopefully, it isn't going to be too much longer. I may have him leave directly from work and go get Landon, if he happens to be leaving there about the time I was to go pick them up. It would sure save some extra driving, rather than him come all the way home, and me have to leave again. So...guess I'll call him in a bit, and see if he has any idea how much longer he's going to be stuck at work.

We both have to work tomorrow, then Sunday off for both of us. Landon was lucky enough to get Sat. and Sunday off...but he know that will be few and far between. lol They're doin' supper with us tonight, and then since he has off, we'll probably try and do something Sunday again...maybe Sat. and Sunday. Ya never can tell with us. lol

I haven't done too much today...spent most of the morning on the puter, then at least figured I'd better get some clothes thrown in the washer...so I've at least got that going. So, as we speak, there's a load in the dryer, and the washer is washing away. Now... how long it takes me to get all these clean clothes put away,....that will be another story. hahahahaha

I went yesterday to go pick up Lee's check, went and paid my rent...which is considered late, if postmarked after the 10th....I got to the post office 10 mins. before their last pickup. So, I lucked out there. Lack of money, with sounds very familiar, has caused Landon and Amanda's phone to get shut off...or at least till Mon. So, with not being able to get ahold of them, I figured I'd run out to Ashland, check in on them, make sure everything was okay, and try to make a few "advanced" plans, since I couldn't call. So, we made the plans to get them today...and do supper here tonight. I suppose that before I take them home tonight, we will make some sort of tentative plans for the next couple of days.

Just before I left landon's, Lee called me, and said he was going to be late. He went in early yesterday, getting there about 7:30 am, and finally called me to come get him about 8:30. 13 hours is quite the day...but unfortunately, it isn't the first time he's done that...and I'm sure it won't be the last. Especially with Christmas coming. Once Thanksgiving is over, there will be NO days off for Lee, until after Christmas...only his Sundays. Well...at least till Christmas Eve. It is a very very busy time for the jewelry business. Anyway, since Lee was going to work late...figured it wouldn't do much good to come home and try to fix a meal...not knowing when he'd get home. So, on the way home from Landon's, I ran through Pizza Hut, and took a pizza home for supper. As it was, Lee had already eaten a sandwich, but he did have a couple of pieces of pizza, later in the evening. Speaking of pizza...which I love, I had remembered a few mins. ago that it was in the frige...left overs, so I decided to pop a couple of pieces in the oven to warm up for my lunch. I'm beginning to start and smell it...mummmmmm...won't be long now.

Moriah is going to a friends house, after school. Kristen and Moriah have been friends for about 7 years. They met when we lived in Fayette...Kristen just lived a couple of blocks away. Then, we moved to Columbia, and of course, Moriah was devistated...having to go visit Kristen, whenever we would happen to be in Fayette, for one reason or another. Anyway, come to find out...Kristen and her mom moved to columbia this summer...so needless to say, that made her and Moriah, both very happy. Anyway, Kristen's brother is in a band that is playing at one of the local clubs tonight.. "The Blue Note"
http://www.thebluenote.com/ and naturally, Kristen wants moriah to go with her. Kim, her mom, his going also. I honestly can't say which one of these bands is Kristen's brother, or which one he is...lol I haven't seen him about 4 yrs...lol But, it's one of the two bands show for tonight at the Blue Note. A couple of yrs ago, for our anniversary, the store (Tucker's) bought Lee and I tickets to the Blue Note, to see Willie Nelson....they all know that I'm a big Willie fan...and Lee likes him also. It was pretty awesome. This summer, we went to the blue note, to see Kirk perform in "Rocky Horror Picture Show"...a stage production. That was pretty funny also....no doubt! Moriah called me from school this morning, and said that she may just spend the night at Kristen's depending on when the concert is over. She's suppose to call me and let me know for sure.

Well, guess this has turned into a pretty lengthly email...guess I'll call it quits. My pizza will be done in a sec anyway.

Hope you all have a great day, and a wonderful weekend coming up. I'm definately ready for the weekend...as I always am!

HAVE A GOOD ONE!

Much love,
Lev
