Things that mean alot to me, and are a very important part of my life. I live in the United States, in the midwestern state, Missouri. I have shared some wonderful links with you and tried to show you all that is a part of the beautiful "Show Me" state, that I live in. You will have access to my home pages, links to wonderful sites, from health, Christianity, to travel. I also share the links to web pages that I have designed, and also to the many wonderful groups of which I'm owner. IN HONOR/Please copy/paste, sign, and forward

This is an excellent idea......and tohave come from teenager....just think!!!!!!!!An idea from the son of a 9/11firefighter... so before you delete this, justremember that this is a 14year-old boy who lost his father on September 11th.All you're asked to do is type, point and click. He's got a really great idea. Thanks! Hello, I lost my Dad on September 11th; he was ChiefEdward Geraghty, Battalion 9, New York City FireDepartment. He lost his life with many other heroesthat day, victims of the terrorists.Firefighters from all over have come to the aid and rescue of the tragedy in New York and Washington , D.C. Many firefighters lost their lives to save someoneelse's. The truth of the matter is, they do this every single day. They truly are heroes. I know many people feel helpless, especially those who live far from NYC and D.C. We all want to do something to show our appreciation, our support! I think we can... In honor of the bravery, courage and determinationof American firefighters, there should be a day in our nation to celebrate and appreciate their hard-work and never-ending passion for saving lives.I think we should honor all those other heroes who still live today. I'm starting a petition for a National Firefighters Day.Will you help make every September 11th "NationalFirefighters Day"?Please join me! Thank you,Connor Geraghty, age 14,Rockville Centre , New York(I Love U, DAD!!) Geeeeeezzzzz...I finally made it!

Hi, Everyone!

It's been over a week since I've been in to see you guys...I sure do appologize! It has just been such a crazy past week it seems...between my rib, working, going to Indiana...

I have to leave in a bit to pick up Lee, so I figured I'd have time to drop a line. Surely, it won't take me 45mins. to 1 hr., to finish this email. lol I don't think I've got that much to say. Of course, I often get side tracked, or think of something to do real fast, so that always seems to take up the time...from when I started, to when I finish. I guess that just means I shouldn't get up and do anything until I'm done. hahaha

Well, we still don't have Lee's mom unpacked. Unfortuanly, I don't think I was much help with my rib this weekend. I over did it, there's no doubt, because come Monday, I hurt pretty bad, and even called Aaron and told him I wasn't going to come in to work. We didn't get home till almost 6am...it seems to keep getting later and later each time we go. Plus, my cold was REALLY acting up, and that made me feel 10x's worse! Needless to say, after Saturday, Sunday, and Monday of no work, I paid for it on Tuesday...it was CRAZY!!! Wed. and today wasn't much better. I sure hope that tomorrow goes better than the last 3. Today, it seemed like Aaron wanted to just keep me there as long as possible. I kept waiting and waiting for address labels to get made, so I could package books, but we didn't finally get started on that till after 4. I had all the books hunted up by a little after 1. I'm not sure why he took so long, other than mentioning at one time, that he was doing "everything else" first. That's all stuff that could have been done AFTER I left! By the time I got to the post office, it was 5:30. Tomorrow, he mentioned that he had to leave...but yet he never mentioned what time, so I'm hoping that tomorrow, I'll be able to get out of there quite a bit earlier than I have the past 3 days.

We're headed out to landon' s for supper. Moriah's friend, Amanda, is going to spend the night, so her and Moriah and just going to hang out here at the house, and not go to Landon's. I'm sure Lee and I won't stay very long either. Lee has a terrible cold, and went to the dr. today. So they filled him up on a bunch of medicine. He's been feeling horrible, and even came home early from work, yesterday. He left about 5:30.

Well...looks like we're maybe gonna try to be out of this duplex and move before the end of Sept. It doesn't give us long, but we're not gonna sign another yrs. lease where we are. We're just not that happy with the duplex, or the landlords. They haven't quite held up their end of the bargin, when it comes to fixing things that are broken. Plus...for what we pay a month...this is nothing! It's gonna take some doing, but I just pray that we can get it done. I'll be sure and keep you all up to date.

We're a little sad around this house. I have told you that our dog Bogey, is old...and not doing very well. Lee really didn't think he'd make it through this past winter. Monday night, and we're not sure when, he got out of the house, which he often tries to do...sneeky...and then he doesn't listen at all when you call him back. Well, we didn't notice really till a little after 10 that he wasn't here. Lee assumed he was outside, since he wasn't in the house, but, of course, didn't find him there when he went to let him in. Now, it is Thursday, and he still has not come home. That isn't like him. We are beginning to wonder if he has done exactly what our other dog, JJ did, ...just left to go off somewhere and die. JJ was 14, and when we let him out one night, he just never returned, and we searched and searched. Bogey was 11, and was really having problems with his hind end....he was part German Shephard, so it could have been displasia...or maybe just bad arthritis. He never acted like he was in pain, but just moved very very slowly, and at times, even had dificulty with his legs even able to support him. I just pray that he laid down somewhere and went peacefully...we sure hate to think that he might have suffered. He was a good dog, and we're really missing him. I think it will be awhile before...maybe quite awhile before I have another dog. I just get too attached, and then things like this are just too hard.

Tragedy seemed to follow us this weekend. Just a few hours after we came through St. Louis, on our way home, 2 people were killed on the same interstate that we were traveling. One poor man...God bless him, had stopped along the side of the road to try and help when he say a van in front of him run off the road. He was struck and killed by an oncoming car, when he was exiting his own. And all he was trying to do was help!

On our way home, we drove by a horrible wreck...a car, on it's top in the embackment. There were 2 firetrucks, and ambulance, plus police, but it didn't seem that any of the rescuse personel were in much of a hurry, which led us to believe that there were maybe no survivors, and no need for a rush. It just made our hearts sink.

Saturday evening, here in Columbia, a 19 yr. old, straight A student from St. Charles, MO, was hit, and then run over by 4 different cars, when he was riding a dirt bike on the highway...no lights, no helmet. He pulled into the side of a car when trying to change lanes, and was then run over. My heart just sank....how how horrible! It seems he had been in a neighboring county for a mud run....but the people he rode with, went off and left him, so he stole a dirt bike, to try and get back to relatives that lived here in Columbia, where he was staying. He was just trying to get home, but went about it very very foolishly, and unfortunately, it cost him his life. Not to mention the trama to those who now have to face the fact that they run over another human being. Dear God...there is such tragedy in this world!

Wow....no more dismel talk!!! Just please...everyone...be careful, and don't ever take anything for granted...especially LIFE!

I actually think we're staying at home this weekend!!! Wow...I won't know how to act. Of course, I need to spend the entire weekend cleaning...my house is a disaster! But, I can't wait to have a weekend to try and recoop, after doing all the Indiana trips, and just being TOTALLY exhausted! I would love to lay around and do nothing all weekend, but I'm sure I'll try to get a few things done....even if I don't go "gung ho"! lol

Next weekend/Labor Day, will be a MUCH needed vacation for us. We will be leaving Friday night, and driving to El Dorado Springs, to spend Sat.,Sun., and Monday with Cheri and Richard. Moriah doesn't have school on the 4th, so she's gonna get to go with us, and has already arranged for days off of work. landon is also going to try and see if he can possibly get the weekend off so he can go with us. Landon and Todd, Cheri's son, we're always tight when they were little. landon hasn't even seen Todd's new babies yet, and one of them is over a yr. old. He hasn't seen Todd since he was down for landon's wedding, and served as usher. He's really hoping that he'll get to go.

Well, I guess I've rattled on enough. lol I'll be leaving to get Lee in about 20 mins, so I'll prob. putz around the puter for a bit more. I sure hope you've all been doing GREAT! I sure wish I could get it together, and wait a week or more, before I get back in! Maybe one of these days......

Much love,
Lev

Guess What?

Well, the rib is fractured! So...it looks like 2-3 weeks before it's healed, and a few more days of pain. The dr. gave me some pain killers....800mg. of Ibuprofin, and Tylenol#3 w/codine. Gee....I shouldn't feel a thing! lol He also told me that if heat, or wrapping it made it feel better, that I could do that. I kept it wrapped yesterday, but by the end of the day, it was pretty sore. Today, I've gone without a wrap, and it seems to not hurt quite as bad. I did put a heating pad on when i got home from the dr....and was able to take about 1 1/2 hr. nap, since I didn't get much sleep at all last night. Hopefully, tonight, with the tylenol #3, I'll sleep a little better.
The dr. said no lifting over 10lb., which is impossible at my work, and he wrote me an excuse taking off work for a week. I hated to do that to Aaron, plus, I really can't be without a weeks pay, so after talking to Aaron, he said he would do all the heavy lifting over the next couple of weeks. I should be able to do everything else that I normally do. It's just gonna be a slow, and somewhat painful process for the next 2-3 weeks.
We're headed for Indiana this weekend to help lee's mom finish moving. Needless to say, I won't be of much help, I'm afraid, without being able to life like usual. I guess we'll just see how it goes.
Well, just thought I'd drop in and let you know the latest. I'll be around...it's a good thing my dr. didn't tell me "no typing"...hehehehehehe
Take care, and say a few prayers that this rib heals quickly, and without much pain!
Love,
Lev

It's been awhile...

It's been almost a week since I've been in to say "HI", and a crazy week it has been!

We've been pretty busy at work. Friday, I guess was the worst, when Aaron had to rent a u-haul to pick up to boxes... HUGE boxes of books. We did two of them on Friday, and there is another that has to be picked up as well. These are about 4'x4'x4' boxes, piled with books. Other than being super hot, while we were trying to unload these, I did something...not sure what, to my ribs. At one point, I kinda hoisted myself up on the edge of the box, to reach down inside, and when I did, just felt a sharp pain...it was like the edge of the box jabbed in between my ribs...it's hard to explain, but BOY did it hurt. Unfortunately, Saturday when I got up, they hurt worse...and after work yesterday, was about all I could do to move...and heaven forbid I should cough...and I have a cold. We were all assuming here that I've probably bruised my ribs somehow, but I had a miserable night last night, and they hurt really bad this morning. So...Lee thinks, and I called Aaron to let him know, that I guess I'm going to go to the dr. today, and see what the deal is. I just hope I haven't cracked a rib...although, there is no bruising or swelling. So....guess we'll find out when i get to the dr. I'll be sure and let you all know. I just know that right now, it's very very painful!

Our best friends, Cheri and Richard called Friday night to let us know they'd be in our area on Sunday, and wondered if we were gonna be home. They came by about 1:00 on Sunday. We hung out at the house for a bit, and then headed out to Landon's ...fixed tacos for supper, and visited there till about 9:00 that evening. They hadn't seen Mary yet, and naturally, thought she was a doll....just like we do.

We'll be headed for Indiana Friday evening again....stay Saturday and Sunday, and then back late Sunday evening. I have to be at work on Monday, unless something happens that the dr. tells me something different. I have to feel better before the weekend, or I won't be of any use unpacking once we get there.

The next weekend, Labor Day weekend, we're gonna go down to Cheri and Richards for the weekend...swim, maybe take the boat out. We'll head outta here on Friday, after Lee gets off work, and will have Sat. Sun, and Monday. Moriah will get to go with us this time, since she had enough notice to request those days off. It will be nice to get away for the weekend. I just hope I'm feeling better by then so I can enjoy it.

Well, guess I'll head outta here and get ready to head out to the dr. Maybe the sooner I get there, the sooner they can do something to stop me from hurting....although, I'm not sure what. Heat makes it's feel better...as long as the heat is on it...and I've also tried wrapping my ribs with an ace bandage, which feels pretty good for awhile, but after a time, begins to hurt again. So...I just don't know. I don't have a regular dr. so I'll just have to go to the walk in clinic...and who knows how long that will take.

Hope you all have a great day...and I'll keep you up on the latest that going on here.

Take care
Love,
Lev

A quick "HI"

Thought I'd drop in for a quick "HI"!

We got back from Indiana early Tuesday morning, about 4:30. Boy...were we "dog tired". Lee and I both made calls to work, and just ended up going in a little later than usual. I took him into work about 10:30, then I came back home, and chilled for awhile, and got to work about noon.

I guess it was Thursdays night, before going to bed, while I was sitting messing on the puter a bit, that I turned around to look at my TV, only to see that the screen was completely black, and we haven't had a picture since. There's sound...but no picture. So, I guess it's the picture tube. We've had this TV for about 6 yrs. Of course, we had only had the TV a couple of years when we had our house fire....it's a wonder that this TV has lasted that long, after being exposed to the amount of heat it was. So, I guess, when I get off work today, I'll be headed for Wal Mart to buy another TV. Landon went with me yesterday to check some out at Wal Mart, and then last night after Lee got home, he wanted to go look and see what they had. We found one that we liked, that was in the price range we thought we could afford. We're lost without TV in this house, so I knew it wouldn't be long before Lee was saying...."go buy one"! lol We found a nice Sanyo, flat screen, 27", so guess that will be the one. We saw a 35" that we REALLY liked, but unfortunately, it was about 1/4" too wide to fit our TV cabinet...so guess we'll just have to stick with the 27", which is what we had away.

Well, have to take Moriah to school today to pick up schedule, take pictures, etc. School for her starts the 23rd of Aug. Hopefully, we shouldn't be too long. I had forgotten about it, so when she reminded me last night, I had to call Aaron, and let him know what was going on. She has to be there and do this sometime between 11-1, so, I'll just be taking her, then bring her back home, and then head for work after dropping her off. I have a feeling it probably won't take much longer than an hour. Her friend Amanda is going with her.

I'd like to say that we finished getting Lee's mom moved in...but....guess what....we didn't! It looks like we're going to have to go back again. We were talking about this weekend, but again, Lee's boss, and another employee are taking Saturday off, so Lee can't, plus I took last Monday off, which puts us in a bind at work, so, looks like we'll be skipping a weekend, and going back the weekend of the 18th. Each time we go, I'm hoping that we can get this all done. I was afraid to say that we could get it done in one more weekend, but, we did get quite a bit accomplished this last trip, so Lee believes that one more weekend, and we should have her unpacked and ready to go. She had an appt. on Tues. for an angeoplasty (?), and it went very well, along with them being able to put another stint in (around her kidney), she only has one. It was something that they didn't know if they could do or not...one wrong slip of the knife, and she would have been on a colostomey(?) bag the rest of her life. BUT... praise the Lord, things went fabulous, and it all worked out well. Her health isn't the best, and Lee worries about her alot. This will just be one less thing we need to worry about.

It's about 10:30, so guess we need to head outta here, and go pick up Amanda.

Hope you all have a great day, and I'm sure I'll be back later this evening! Oh boy....hump day, so that means the weekend's on the way....and even better....I don't have to spend it driving in a car for 7-8 hours. You can bet that this girl is gonna be sleeping in come Saturday morning!!!

Take care, and talk to ya all soon!

Much love,
Lev

On the road again

How is everyone doing this Saturday afternoon?

I have a few minutes before Lee gets home. He should be here in about 45 mins., then we'll load up the car, and be headed for Indiana. It will be very late/early when we arrive, well into the wee hours of the morning. When we don't get a bit of an early start, we do our best to not rush ourself, considering it is late, and we're both tired. It's better to be safe...and arrive a little later, than not arrive at all. So, we will stop a few times, I'm sure for coffee, and will stop for supper at some point, although, I'm not sure where.

We enjoy traveling at night, for the most part. The traffic is not near as bad as it is through the daylight hours, plus I think people tend to not drive so rediculously crazy. And to top it off, the AC in our car isn't working, so to drive in the heat of the day, especailly the way it's been here lately, would be unbearable!!! Driving at night makes for a much more pleasant drive, with the fresh night air....(until you go through a cattle or pig town...hehehehe)!

We'll be getting back late/early Tues. am, then Lee and I both have to be back at work the next morning. I know for myself, that will be a miserable day at work.

Well, guess I'll head out, and run through the house one last time, making sure I haven't forgotten anything. It seems like I always do. I hope you all have a great weekend! I'll talk to you all as soon as we get back.

Much love,
Lev

Computer Competition

Jesus and Satan were having an on-going argument about who was better on the computer. They had been going at it for days and frankly God was tired of hearing all the bickering.
Finally fed up, God said, "That's it! I have had enough. I am going to set up a test that will run for two hours and from those results, I will judge who does the better job."
So Satan and Jesus sat down at the keyboards and typed away.
They moused.
They faxed.
They e-mailed.
They e-mailed with attachments.
They downloaded.
They did spreadsheets!
They wrote reports.
They created labels and cards.
They created charts and graphs.
They did some genealogy reports.
They did every job known to man.
Jesus worked with heavenly efficiency and Satan was as fast as can be.
Then, ten minutes before their time was up, lightning suddenly flashed across the sky, thunder rolled, rain poured and of course, the power went off.
Satan stared at his blank screen and screamed every curse word known in the underworld.
Jesus just sighed.
Finally, the electricity came back on and each of them restarted their computers.
Satan started searching frantically, screaming, "It's gone! It's all gone! I lost everything when the power went out!"
Meanwhile, Jesus quietly started printing out all of his files from the past two hours of work.
Satan observed this and became irate.
"Wait!" he screamed. "That's not fair! He cheated! How come he has all his work and I don't have any"?
God just shrugged and said, "Jesus saves."

New pictures

How is everyone doing this evening? It's going on midnight here, so I can at least say that I made it in before Friday got here. lol

When I wrote a couple of days ago, I meant to send some new pictures, and went right off and forgot them. How, I sure don't know, especially as precious as they are. So...here are the latest professional pictures that Kirk and Tara-Lee had done of Eva. She just gets more beautiful each time I see her! These are just so adorable. They are going to be sending us some via snail mail, so we'll have some for around the house. We will be getting a big one of the one with her in the jeans. We had to just pick one...for the big picture, that is, but we'll also be getting smaller ones, of some of the other poses. We miss her sooooo much. Oh...and we just found out from Kirk last night, that we're gonna be grandparents again! They just found out yesterday. He was still a little in shock...hehehehehe and pretty scatter brained. I don't think he even told me a due date. They maybe haven't given her one yet...I'm not sure. I'll take a stab at around March or April though.

Anyway, just wanted to share these precious pictures of my beautiful granddaughter with you. It's late, and I think I'll hit the sack. Hope you all have a great Friday. I'll talk to ya soon...

Much love,
Lev

How's it goin'?

Hello, guys!

I have a little bit of time before Lee gets home, so thought I'd drop in and say "HI" to all of ya.

It is still soooooooo terribly warm here in Missouri. Our high today was suppose to be 102, with a heat index of 109. I'm not sure if it made it to that temp, but it sure felt like it. It's 6:30 here, and our temp. is still 91. We have thunderstorms moving in tonight, and it is suppose to drop down into the 70's...unfortunately, that usually means one thing....bad weather. Let's sure hope not. When that warm and cool air colide, it doesn't alway produce the prettiest of weather. The thunderstorms arent' supose to start till sometime after midnight. Tomorrow, we're still at a 50% chance for thunderstorms, but our temps, are suppose to be down into the mid 80's. That will be a big relief from what we've had the past couple of weeks. I like hot weather, but it seems to always have to go to the extreme for some reason...which I could never understand.

Well....FINALLY, after almost 10 years, we have a WORKING motorcycle...licensed, legal, and ready to ride! Lee and i both have missed our motorcycle sooooo much!!!! This one isn't a Harley...which of course, is our dream...but I'll take this Yamaha....no doubt about that. Any bike is ALWAYS better than no bike at all!!! I'd don't think I'll have to twist his arm to hard, but I have a feeling I can talk Lee into a motorcycle ride after supper. We always use to love to do that. It wouldn't surprise me if he mentioned it before I did. lol He has been lost without his bike!

Well, it's back to Indiana again this weekend. Let's hope the next time we go back, it will be for a nice leisurly visit, and not a moving expedition. lol We're hoping that with this weekend, we'll be able to get things wrapped up for Lee's mom. She's got a really cut little place, and I know she's anxious to get it all set up, and not having to rumage through boxes anymore. Lee can't get Saturday off, so I took Monday off again. I think Aaron is going to Illinois anyway to his Mom and Dad's, so he didn't act like he was to upset about the extra day either. We'll leave Saturday, as soon as Lee can get off work. They're are already two going to be gone that day, so I have my doubts that he'll get out early. So, it will be another very early arrival in Indianapolis...Probably 4-5 am. Sunday morning. We'll be returning late on Mon/Tues. am.

Well, Lee should be here before to much longer, and I'll need to start some supper. I think I'm just fixing some BLT's. I picked up some garden tomatoes from a neighbor down the road that sells them. Boy...I love em'!!! Just sliced with salt and pepper...that's the best! Well, they are great with cucumbers, and onions, in oil and vinegar.....

Hope you all have a great evening. I'm sure I'll be back on this box later....hopefully, after my motorcycle ride....

Take Care
Much love,
Lev
