Tea Time With God

Finishing Strong
And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said "Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit." And having said thus, he gave up the ghost. Luke 23:46
The Gospel accounts of Matthew,Mark, and Luke tell us that Jesus ended His earthly life and ministry by crying out with a loud voice, obviously from a great surge of energy. Like tells us further that in His cry, Jesus commends His spirit to the Lord, giving His all to the Father.
What a wonderful example of how we might end our work each day!!!
First, we need to "finish strong". In the afternoon, we often must refocus and double our efforts. those who work in offices often find their most productive hour is the last hour of the day when everyone else has gone home and the phone has stopped ringing. Those who work at home also tend to experience an end-of-the-day urgency to get things done before shifting to more relaxed hours.
We are wise to pray as we enter the home stretch of a day, "Father, give me Your strength and energy to bring to a conclusion what i have started. Help me now to go the extra mile."
Second, we need to commend our work to the Lord. As we finish our work, we need to say, "Thank You Lord for the energy, health, and creativity to do what i have done today. Now I turn over all rights to what I have done to You.I trust you to winnow out what is worthless, and to cause that which is worthey to last and benefit others. I give it all to You."
To finish strong and commend our work to the Lord requires humility. We must recognize that the lord is the source of all our ability and power to accomplish and succeed.
As you pause this afternoon, choose to finish your day well, and then give what you have done to the Lord.

This text made me think a lot this start of the day. There are million people around the world that dont remember to say even good night to the Lord nor to themselves so i think about to thank for their day.So many beautiful days have been given and not enjoyed as it should be.So many graces were to be picked up,so many hands asking truly,so much hurt everywhere;all of them bring us the idea of happiness or sadness but rarely thankness.Everything, good or bad has to be thanked for because it is quite important, to learn from,to live better and in peace.
Keep doing this great job here Lev,the Lord is surely looking after you and your family.Gott mit dir!
Hi, Luzi...glad you could come to visit. It make me feel good to know that some are enjoying my blog, even if they don't always comment on it.
We do definately take a lot of things for granted, I suppose because some of them seem so small and trivial. But even to open our eyes in the morning, able to see the beauty of this world one more day, should always be a reason to thank God for everything He has given. It only takes the blink of an eye, and even this, we could not be blessed with. So many people need to be much more grateful for everything God supplies for us.
Hope you'll come back and visit soon.
Love,
Lev
